Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5268: A Roc From The Glorious Wind Roc Sect

”Stop, please stop...”

Seeing that the dangerous and bloodthirsty rabbit didn’t put her hands down, the roc echoed again, her voice pleading and her gaze ruthless, as though if the rabbit didn’t heed her, she would be forced to go all out.

Illumina came to a stop.

The two of them were in a standstill, their beastly auras keeping each other in check.

However, there was someone who strode between them, appearing as though he wasn’t affected by the pressure.

Even as Davis’s body creaked, his bones cracking under the mountainous pressure of these Level Fifteen Exalt and Level Sixteen Exalt, his Enigmatic Will was invulnerable, allowing him to keep his head high and act as though the pressure wasn’t affecting him at all.

He walked all the way to the front of the black-golden roc’s face, making its dark-violet eyes quiver.

It couldn’t believe a human could withstand such pressure even with an Exalt body, much less an Empyrean body!

She doubted her own eyes, wondering if she was seeing an illusion or if she couldn’t see through this human.

On the other hand, Davis was honestly surprised.

Neither humans nor beasts would let go of a World Hegemon Grade Treasure easily, especially not when protecting their younglings, much less other younglings even if they belong to the same power. They would consider it a necessary sacrifice as they abandon the younglings instead, but clearly, this female roc didn’t appear to be such a nut case.

In fact, he could see that she had probably enjoyed a royal position within this so-called Glorious Roc Sect and had access to abundant resources. Perhaps she had laid her eyes upon World Hegemon Grade Treasures before.

This way, it would make sense why she would care about these younglings more than the World Hegemon Grade treasure, but in that case, why was such a person here in the Upper Realm instead of the Greater Realm?

The Desolate Era had descended two months ago, but she still couldn’t leave for the Greater Realm?

It was likely she had her own reasons to stay, but he wondered if she was exiled outright or indirectly exiled for a period of time in the form of a punishment, forced to nurture the younger generation and even grow treasures for the Glorious Wind Roc Sect.

Checking out her magical beast form, he first asked, ”What’s your species name?”

The black-golden winged roc’s initial reaction was to berate him as insolent again, but she remembered that the powerful rabbit called him master.

She wondered what kind of background he could have in the Nether Dimension before faintly probing.

”I hope fellow cultivators will not take this battle to heart. We were just exchanging pointers, but since you have proved yourselves, I’ll introduce myself. My name is Exawelese Skylov, and I’m a Jeweled Nightmare Tempest Roc. As you can see, I haven’t used my species techniques or other techniques from my sect, so I wasn’t truly serious. However, you have injured me. However, I’m also magnanimous enough to forgive. We’ll let bygones be bygones and exchange treasures as we initially discussed. How does that sound?”

Exawelese Skylov’s tone changed immediately from one of regal ascendant to a sweet and pleasant woman.

Davis and Illumina were dumbfounded.

The most confusing thing was that she appeared to know how to negotiate.

At that moment, they thought at the same time, ’She really went to buy fish in the nearby port market...!?’

Davis hid his laughter from exploding as he pursed his lips and nodded, ”I see. It was really a misunderstanding. In that case, we’ll exchange treasures for this treasure. Just what is it?”

Davis asked, but the voice came from behind.

”Master, my inherited memories know that it’s the Eternal Nightshade Moonflower. It casts a huge shadow upon the world with its petal manifestation as the Lunar Reverence aids in its growth. It is extremely valuable to darkness and yin-attributed magical beasts. It could allow many such Grand Ancestral Magical Beasts to have a chance to break into the Emperor-Tier and help in their breakthrough into the Realm Beast Stage.”

Illumina rapidly explained, causing Davis to nod with interest.

This treasure might also be useful to Nyoran and many others.

It was hard to divide it in all honesty, so if Illumina wanted it, it was better to give it to her, but then if she advanced any further, she would have no choice but to ascend to the Greater Realm. He didn’t want that.

Davis felt himself fall into a pickle. While he dwelled in contemplation as to exchange what with it, Exawelese Skylov whispered to Illumina.

”Fellow Exalted One- I mean Exalted Grandmaster from the Nether Dimension, why are you following this strange human?” She asked with some suspicion.

”...”

Illumina turned speechless.

To think this roc really hadn’t heard of the Divine Emperor of Death. For how long had she secluded herself in this Floating Skycloud Island? There was even a rich natural illusory-wind formation that blocked entry around the island and birds that confused the mind like the crow that cawed at them, but how could it stop the three of them?

They easily made their way in, but didn’t actually expect it to be actually occupied by a magical beast from a power in the Greater Realm, and that roc to be further clueless.

However, as proud as Illumina was, she didn’t go so far as to explain the Divine Emperor of Death’s infamy.

She respectfully gestured at Davis.

”I’m not an Exalted One. Master is.”

The Jeweled Nightmare Tempest Roc blinked its large dark-violet eyes, its rocky upper beak carrying a metallic sheen, moving in response.

”Exalted One or Exalted Master is an appellation for addressing Exalt Stage cultivators and beasts. Exalted Grandmaster addresses those of the True Exalt Beast Stage and Alpha Exalt Stage.” She explained in a pleasant tone before it turned suspicious, ”Are you really from the Nether Dimension?”

”Who said I was?”

Illumina shrugged.

For a moment, the roc didn’t know what to say.

Was she just... scammed...?

These two weren’t from the otherworldly Nether Dimension...? Isn’t that the reason she had instantly given up instead of putting up a fight and fleeing if she lost...?

’Damn it...!’

She inwardly shrieked and was about to lash out, but recalled that she had already given her word. She paced her wings about uncomfortably, rubbing her jeweled forehead in worry. She turned greatly anxious, wondering what her sect would say if they found out that she was exchanging an important treasure with some kind of trash.

She could only hope that this human would at least take out something worthy of notice, like a rare treasure of a Supreme Law.

”Alright,”

Davis raised his head and murmured something about how he couldn’t afford to trade World Hegemon Grade treasures when they were incredibly useful to his family, ”How about I help you restore your bloodline tier to Emperor-Tier? I’ll even incur the costs for you to reach Level Nine True Exalt Beast Stage and provide you a bit of aid in breaking through to the Realm Beast Stage. If you don’t believe me, you can visit the True Peak Emporium and ask a person called Jiayi Crystalveil.”

Initially, Exawelese Skylov’s heart chilled upon hearing it was merely a promise, but when the True Peak Emporium was brought up, her gaze instantly brightened.

”Eh? You can help me become a Dynastic Realm Beast!? Truly!?”

Davis became a bit stunned by the one-eighty attitude and the variation in the Realm Beast Stage, but nodded.

”However, I must warn you since this will come with significant risks of your fate going astray.”

”What fate going astray?” Exawelese Skylov argued, her eyes practically glimmering in front of Davis, ”My fate is already a question...! If you’re from the True Peak Emporium, I could try gambling on you. After all, anyone with a brain can tell that the chances that I become a Dynastic Realm Beast are truly abysmal. Even my sect wouldn’t support me the moment I took the long and arduous path of the True Exalt Beast...!”
