Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5253: Off With Their Heads

The Celestial Transcendent frowned.

The Divine Emperor of Death below was just an avatar. There was no need for him to get serious. Killing him was easy, but then he would have to go hunt the main body too, along with the Venerable Knights and the other Heaven’s Warriors.

His word was word. He had publicly declared it. It held the foremost weight in the galaxy.

On the other hand, if the Divine Emperor of Death couldn’t stay silent for even seven days before leaving silently, how could he believe his words in the future?

”Old foggies! Your youthful grandpa is here to teach you a lesson so you don’t descend and protect your rude grandsons when they’re about to receive their retribution! Hahaha!”

The pompous and brazen attitude of the Divine Emperor of Death left the Celestial Transcendent suddenly speechless. Then, his lips couldn’t help but curl, gloating at the misfortune of others.

Indeed, this brat didn’t show any respect to his elders. It wasn’t only him who was getting insulted and killed. If this brat didn’t teach them a lesson, they would all think the Supreme Ruler had joined the Divine Emperor of Death or something.

Due to various constraints, he had only used seventy percent of his overall battling style over many years of experience fighting the undying, yet he still failed to overcome the Divine Emperor of Death.

How could he be held responsible when it was not in his blood to go serious against a junior he approved of?

He didn’t want anyone questioning his decisions but knew his son would dare to do just that, not even caring that Zhao Yan was held hostage.

Davis soared above.

His figure flashed. He appeared as if he grabbed something, abruptly immobilizing one of the ancestors mid-air, asking who gave permission for him to be that oppressive of him and deemed him sinful.

The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Ancestor was deemed sinful without rhyme or regard.

The Celestial Transcendent squinted his eyes as he infused karma into his pupils, belatedly noticing the flow of karmic energy that directly transformed into a karmic thread. It was extremely vague, but the Divine Emperor of Death pulled on it, enacting spatial transference with himself and one of the talismanic artifact treasures that the ancestor had brought out.

It revolved around the ancestor like a swirling set of beads.

He switched places with them, and then abruptly cleaved apart the ancestor’s head while dragging an arc with the scythe.

”Wha-”

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze flickered.

This brat... why did he go off and kill the ancestor? Isn’t that what these little schemers wanted? To get him to deal with this situation?

However, the head that was lopped off fell back into the ancestor’s hand.

”Huh?”

The white-haired ancestor of the Abyssal Radiance Empire had frozen for a bit before sounding confused. He touched his neck and found no blood. He held his head and ran his fingers all over to find it was truly his head, finding no blood, yet he suddenly found that his body had been severed and the soul that had sunk into his body to escape certain death could not leave the body to enter the head.

”...!?”

The others who had seen this strange way of beheading felt their scalps turn numb.

They gazed at the sickly black-yellow light at the edge of the scythe’s blade, which turned black-azure at some point.

’This... he’s using some kind of life energy over his scythe intent to attack...!’ Everyone belatedly realized.

However, the Celestial Transcendent was more clear that this was reaping death and sowing life, making it incredibly hard for the places where the life-scythe intent cut to become difficult to die, and in essence, become rigid. He placed his hand over his head, knowing the breakthrough to the next scythe intent was inevitable.

Davis had paused and looked solemn as though he was digesting insights while wide awake. His sapphire eyes glimmered with a faint hint of comprehension. Before anything could happen, he heaved a light breath and turned around, panning his gaze.

”Perhaps I won’t kill any of you, but none of you will get to go home intact. My new scythe technique is going to have you live limbless and headless forever unless you get treated by a World Hegemon physician.”

Once Davis dropped his words, they saw that the beheaded ancestor frantically tried to reattach his head but failed to do so!

”Aaah!” That old ancestor cried out in fear, unlike himself when he should not be fearful of death.

Everyone flinched. When their gazes returned, they found that the Divine Emperor of Death had disappeared amidst the silence!

The Mystic Diviner suppressing the Divine Emperor of Death in the shadows had fainted somehow!

”...!”

It invoked pandemonium, causing every other power in the vicinity that was looking to take advantage of the situation to rapidly turn around and flee in horror. In contrast, the four ancestors who looked as though they were already one step into the grave appeared as though they were fighting a grave battle as they shot toward the Divine Emperor of Death together!

The ancestral figures of the five powers that had gathered here looked old and decrepit.

Clearly, they had lived for a long time or had thoroughly used up the bloodsoul essence, so their longevity no longer allowed them the luxury of breaking through.

Davis considered them powerful figures but didn’t give them time to act.

”Halt!”

”Oppress!” Jaiyan backed him up from the stone platform suddenly, his accursed tongue flaring.

The two of their overbearing words, one filled with the overbearing Will of Enigmatic Heart Laws and the other an accursed power that tried to suppress even the heavens with its own mandate, roared, causing the four ancestors to momentarily stop just before Davis, their attacks halting mid-air within their sleeves!

Treasures brimmed around them yet failed to spew out any energy.

Davis held his scythe up. With a clean slice over a full arc, their heads came off naturally as though they were fruits plucked from a tree.

There was no splash of blood. Just heads that rolled in the skies in a beautiful arc.
