Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5259: A Karmic Serpent’s Gaze

”No, I’ll do it.” Ophirya Kaelis went on her knees as she gazed up at him, ”We’ll follow your commands. You allowed me to snatch your blood during an extremely perilous war where I could’ve been secretly evil and planned it all against you, yet you saved me. Hence, I’ll fulfill any requests you have as long as it is within my ability, and the Nightshade Ocean Phantasm Clan is also compelled to be duty-bound to you and the Davis Family for our lifetime and beyond nine generations. We are like your servants, so please use us as you see fit~”

Davis blinked.

He had sensed her desperation and knew of her disposition beforehand, so he knew it was more likely she was seeking help wholeheartedly rather than being a black-hearted backstabber. He also knew how much she was scared of him. Those emotions couldn’t be faked when he was seated right in front of her and talked a lot.

At the battlefield, even as he was in a rush, it wasn’t easy to fool him as his Heart Intent was in full swing.

Old monsters could be lied to, but he couldn’t be lied to.

Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws was insane at discovering lies, and it was precisely one of the reasons that it made Enigmatic Heart Law users look down on everything from the bottom of their hearts and dominate the lying peasants and devious slaves. In their eyes, everything other than them might as well not exist on the same length.

Cultivators described others below them as ants, but to Enigmatic Heart Law users, it might be even worse.

Regardless, he kept his Will from being corrupted and said calmly, ”You’re indeed a good person. Don’t strain yourself while investigating. Just make a casual sweep and retract lest you be karmically attacked by the unknown gaze.”

Back then, Myria had felt Accursed Warlock’s gaze a few times even while in the World Master’s First Haven world. The latter had karmically locked onto her and even sneaked into the World Master’s First Haven World. Now that Myria had become strong and even removed that karmic mark he implanted in her soul, which was severed during her Empyrean Tribulation, he would no longer be able to find her.

He was asking Ophirya Kaelis to find out if someone was peeking at them. But if that gaze caught onto her, a third person, then it would allow them to hurt her or be hurt by her.

But if anyone dared to peek at them, it would be none other than the Hell Hydra Monarch right now.

”Your wish is my command.”

Ophirya Kaelis nodded and respectfully took a few steps back and stood up.

Jillian Hayden watched, her gaze complex as she noticed how Davis was thorough in his methods of dealing with trouble, even leaving no room for Ophirya Kaelis to feel misused about it. One part of her heart told her he was just such a person, kind and magnanimous, the bringer of the Golden Era.

She had also suffered from the Desolate Era, but she no longer cared about it since her family betrayed her.

But ever since she knew he had reached Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, she was downright scared of him, yet she didn’t want to leave him.

She silently watched Ophirya Kaelis perform strange hand signs that instantly dropped the temperature around them.

Her long serpent tail shimmered with azure scales, glowing with strange patterns, and her white hair rose from resting over her shoulders in soft, exquisite waves. Her vacant white eyes were a sight to see as they glowed fervently, as though they contained a bottomless abyss.

Her invisible karmic senses stemming from her bloodline as an Anarchic Divergent Beast began to spread as she silently uttered, ”Twelve Eyes Usurper Gaze~”

Abruptly, over five pairs of pitch-black eyes opened from Ophirya Kaelis’s face, instantly sending a chill down everyone’s spine.

Even Davis held his breath as he saw a technique from the Dreamsilk Karmic Usurper Clan. This magical beast clan was indeed well-versed enough to use divination and other techniques from the human race, perhaps even create their own.

”Ahh!~”

Ophirya Kaelis’s gaze spread when she abruptly screamed.

Davis instantly raised his hands as he closed the distance, his hands spinning a reincarnation web, the controller of souls and personification of karma, even being highly resistant and effective against them. He spun the reincarnation energy into a ball as he placed it over his soul in one full, smooth motion, providing her with the defense she required.

However, there was no attack, making him blink, but Ophirya Kaelis quivered, even throwing herself in Davis’s embrace to instinctively feel safe.

Blood poured from her eyes.

”There... there are four powerful gazes watching over us... with many in the distance I don’t dare to probe beyond the realm’s vicinity...”

She uttered, her teeth clattering, ”I wasn’t attacked. One of them is right above us outside the realm... and I think it’s the Celestial Transcendent, his gaze non-hostile, while one of the remaining three is clearly the... Hell Hydra Monarch... I, our clan has long basked in the damnable aura of the Nine-Headed Titanic Hydras...! I can’t find him, but the fact that he couldn’t attack me is most likely because he’s spying through some medium I haven’t touched...”

”The Hell Poison Gem’s replica...” Davis’s expression churned.

She gritted her teeth and uttered, ”With the Hell Poison Gem itself...!”

*Pui!~*

She spat out a mouthful of blood, her white eyes turning pitch-black.

”Priestess...!” Tsaryn Shaddis’s eyes turned red.

”Don’t worry.” Davis gave Ophirya Kaelis to her gently, ”She just passed out from the burden of enduring those karmic gazes. Nothing will happen to her, I promise. If the gazes are within the Second Layer, then they aren’t powerful enough to deal a critical blow to an Anarchic Divergent Beast, especially when I am here. Bring your Shaddis Clan; we’ll go together.”

As he said, he inwardly cursed himself for not considering those damnable Supremes who might be watching from other dimensions. Fortunately, Ophirya Kaelis had only limited herself to the realm and its vicinity.

”Yes!”

Everyone responded seriously, and Laphria Rinmei hurriedly detached her illusions from the space and began to move the obsidian flying palace that senior sister Qiyra Darkstar had left in her care.

Nearby, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar noticed the movement of the obsidian flying palace through her connection with it. She was one of the two remaining gazes that kept a lookout.

Her gaze narrowed, and she dropped everything she was doing to rush back.

Fairy Glacia Frigidveil was none the wiser, but the board known as the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm changed again.

Abruptly, a portal to the Nether Dimension opened a few millions kilometers away from the obsidian flying palace and Nether Devils started flying out, their voice crackling.

”Zhehahaha! Is that our target!?”

Their eyes that could see through a large distance, flickered with deranged excitement.
