Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5273: An Unexpected Visitor?

”Yes, but we should be ready. The allies are ready to act at a moment’s notice, but what of the children? Are they back yet?”

”Yes,” Fiora answered, ”Rioxys and Melluca brought them all back safely. The Auros Family’s Throne Selection Tournament was over that day when the purple-white clouds appeared, but the children had made a mess, exposing themselves. Although their true identities aren’t known, they made quite a commotion, their fake names resounding far and wide. Funnily enough, their names are attributed to the Golden Era as people think they’re fated chosen and would be destined for greatness.”

”They’re indeed destined for greatness.” Shirley said sweetly.

The three of their smiles grew more fond as talking about the bright future of their children was one of the greatest joys that they had ever experienced in their lives.

To that end, Davis hadn’t shrunk at all.

To protect the family and even shine hope upon them, he had gone to deal with the Desolate Era and close the Galaxy Wormhole. Otherwise, the situation would turn bleak with many crusades launched against them and multiple supreme rulers besieging them in a bid to stop the Desolate Era from spreading to every part of the three layers.

The heavens were just intent on forcing everyone’s hands to deal with the Divine Emperor of Death.

They continued chatting over their children’s growth, seemingly forgetting about Davis, but there were occasional moments where an expression of unease flickered over their faces before they hid them with a lovely smile.

Soon, Mingzhi and Nightveil returned to the continent, causing them to go receive here instead.

Hearing the news, many also shot out from their chambers or individual mansions and palaces.

At one of the few entrances to the sanctuary, two women stood beside each other, their expressions hidden behind a shadowy veil. They appeared to be still in their disguises, fully clothed in black robes and veiled conical hats like a suspicious person.

Isabella, Shirley, Fiora, Yilla, Nadia, Aila, Everlight, and a few others had gathered around.

One of the black-robed person took off their veiled hat, causing a wave of black hair to cascade down. Her black eyes shone with a ruthless nature, but her smile welcomed the ladies before her. One of her black pupils flashed with a white glimmer, revealing her command over twilight. With her lips curled, she looked both menacing and solemn as though sorrow was etched deep within, hidden only by her bright smile.

”Sisters, I come with good news and bad news. Which one do you want to know first?”

”Mingzhi, this isn’t the time to play with our hearts.” Fiora instantly lashed out, ”Quickly tell us what happened in the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, especially about husband.”

”Since that’s the case~’

Mingzhi heaved a sigh, ”I’ll relay the bad news first.”

Everyone’s heart clenched in response. The feeling of dread only grew more prominent when they saw Mingzhi turn solemn instead of acting as if she were filled with sorrow.

”There are various accounts in the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm about the advent of the Golden Era, but the most prevalent one is that it was achieved through the act of sealing the Divine Emperor of Death.”

”...!” The frail and battered hearts of the ladies clenched.

Mingzhi sensed the overwhelming sorrow before she instantly corrected herself as she went to the good news.

”However, the official statement from the Celestial Transcendent and the Heaven’s Warriors themselves is that the Desolate Era was overturned by the Divine Emperor of Death himself and then-”

She relayed the events of the day when the Golden Era descended. Whether through fortune or misfortune, the information she obtained only contained the events of that day and no more, but even then, it was filled with rumors and speculations, with only a minority being official accounts.

She informed them of how the Celestial Transcendent granted Davis and the others seven days of reprieve. She told them how he had fought the Celestial Transcendent to a standstill and even eliminated some of his avatars while conveniently leaving the part where he had died a few times.

She also said he and Evelynn greatly contributed to the war by sealing the Galaxy Wormhole with poison, but it was then absorbed by the Supreme Ruler of the Hydra Galaxy, only for that Supreme Ruler to be suppressed by the Celestial Transcendent’s infallible methods.

Hearing the events, Isabella and the others grew more and more giddy with excitement and pride.

It was as though they were listening to a legend as they watched Mingzhi recount the way Davis cleaved open the skies with the scythe and forcefully reversed the Desolate Era, causing the Golden Era to descend.

They were so excited that Aila and a few others were literally jumping around, cheering with all their hearts.

Even Xiu Juili was here, a rare smile adorning her face as she smiled along with them and shared their joy as she clasped hands with them.

She hadn’t even gotten to see Davis before he had left, so her emotions of regret couldn’t be described at all.

But suddenly, Mingzhi uttered, ”The good news is over, but the bad news is not. Our Divine Emperor is still trapped within the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm. It is unknown why he hasn’t come back, but rumors indicate that there must be fierce battles all over the realm for resources over Exalt Grade or even above. I’ve also seen incredibly big armies from the neighboring realms move into the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm. It is somewhat worrying to say the least. Then there is something else that utterly puts me in confusion.”

”The rewards granted to Davis by the Celestial Transcendent include the non-Divergents of the Davis Family becoming a family recognized by all as a righteous power free of Divergents.”

”...!?”

Shirley and the others were stunned.

What kind of trap was this?

”However, it is said that the Divine Emperor of Death himself is the one who asked for this kind of reward, and the Celestial Transcendent agreed, further granting the Davis Family a chance to obtain the Realm Core and the rights to rule the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm legally.”

Mingzhi sucked in a cold breath, unable to believe her own words, ”Normally, I would’ve laughed it off, but with this red scroll delivered to near our doorstep, I dare not consider otherwise. I fear our location may have been exposed, whether intentionally or non-intentionally.”

She handed over a red scroll to Isabella, the eldest sister in the place.

Isabella grasped and rolled down the red scroll, her pupils contracting as she scanned through the words written on it. Shirley stood by her side, her gaze showing the same emotion. The two of them appeared to be filled with shock, garnering greater interest from the surrounding sisters.

”This is... a marriage contract...?” Isabella’s gaze shook as she saw a woman’s name on the contract with the groom’s name empty, but it was evident that the paragraph marked that the groom’s position would belong to one of the non-Divergent sons of the Davis Family.

”This is sent by... Clara...?” Shirley’s gaze shook as she instantly noticed the handwriting, ”Is she here? Nearby? Wait, could it be that she came here to rescue Zhao Yan!?”
