Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5272: Restless Home

Two figures walked out of the grand entrance of a huge mansion.

Their steps were light, but their aura was solemn.

One was a woman dressed in a luxurious golden robe embroidered with black dragon patterns. She stood with her hands folded, her chin up as she gazed at the receding purple-white skies solemnly. Her black pupils flashed with a golden light while her purple hair softly danced amidst the heavy breeze.

The other was a woman clad in crimson robes with a blue inner attire, making her look gentle and dazzling. A phoenix jade hairpin neatly perched on her bundled crimson-blue hair, giving her quite the elegant look, but like the previous woman, her gaze was also solemn as she gazed at the skies. Her eyes shone crimson, making the cool breeze around them turn warm.

”Elder sister Isabella, Elder sister Shirley...”

From the distance, a jade-crimson robed woman soared in a tuft of cloud underneath her feet. With a peculiar crimson bow strapped behind her back, she tugged it lightly into a comfortable position and jumped off the flying cloud artifact, descending to the ground and appearing before them.

Her black hair swayed dazzlingly before it revealed her pretty yet sharp face.

”Fiora, did Mingzhi obtain any news yet...?” Isabella asked with a forced smile.

Fiora shook her head as she adjusted her black hair, ”I’m afraid not. Every intelligence network is in disarray because of the change in the Desolate Era, causing the messaging talismans and formations to work again, but most relay formations have already been corrupted and broken by desolate air. It is difficult for us who is in the fringe to obtain news, but Mingzhi and Nightveil are working hard, so the news should arrive soon.”

”I see.” Isabella uttered in a faint voice.

”...” Fiora averted her gaze.

She looked into the mansion, trying to find her elder sister Natalya, but she hadn’t come out of seclusion. The most infuriating thing was that she knew Natalya had blind faith in Davis, so she wouldn’t be shaken at all, unlike them who were thrown off the cliff in the past three days.

It was useless talking to her since she would claim Davis overturned the Desolate Era and brought the Golden Era instead.

Who would believe such a thing!? A Desolate Divergent causing blessings to spread instead of calamity?

They would wonder if they had crossed into another universe altogether.

Regardless, the heaviness of the matter couldn’t be overstated.

Three days ago, the dark clouds dispersed and purple-white clouds covered the skies a bit.

They couldn’t understand heads or tails.

Why was the heaven and earth energy turning pure instead of returning to normal...? Wait, why was it turning purer by the second and becoming more dense? Although the change wasn’t significant, they could sense it changing every passing hour. Even in these backwaters, the change was evident. The initial wave of these purple-white clouds had already had many people believing the Desolate Era was finally over, and the legends of the Golden Era started to spread.

This undoubtedly meant that the Desolate Era had ended.

They were also overjoyed in the beginning since Davis had set out to eliminate the Desolate Era and seal the Galaxy Wormhole, meaning that he could’ve succeeded, but what were these purple-white clouds hanging in the skies? Why was it being called the start of the Golden Era by the Auros imperial family on the floating continent who retained ancient records?

Even Tia confirmed that these purple-white clouds were related to the phenomena of the Golden Era.

But in that case, how did the Golden Era come about?

Their joy slowly turned to dread since it was highly possible that the heavens were rejoicing, and why would the heavens rejoice? It could only mean that their Davis had been... sealed!

Once this kind of thought took root in their hearts, it was hard to get rid of, and a sense of dread overcame them, clouding the family perpetually for the last three days. Their hearts had gone cold, and their movements turned stiff, each action performed with the utmost concern lest the little sisters and the children start panicking.

They didn’t dare even make it sound ominous for fear that they might jinx it. The only saving grace was that none of the life jades broke, but Tia said that in a place where numerous fates of divine beings clashed, even life jades and life tablets would become unresponsive unless they were in the same place.

It wouldn’t be until a long time that they broke, and by then, it would be too late to react.

It spooked them even more, causing them to worry to death.

Shirley sensed the atmosphere turn bleak and smiled wryly, ”There is no need to worry. There should be a reason that has eluded us. Now that the so-called Golden Era’s phenomenon is receding, it is probably just heaven’s way of restoring the heaven and earth energy to its former glory. On the other hand, our husband would’ve long escaped the encirclement of the Heaven’s Warriors and hidden somewhere in the vast space, trying to lose them. That’s why he hasn’t come back yet. He’s being careful like he always is, but also worrying us to death without fail, hehe~”

She giggled, trying to lighten up the mood.

Isabella and Fiora indeed smiled upon hearing that.

Indeed, Davis and the others should’ve come back since it wouldn’t take a long time for Fairy Qiyra Darkstar to bring them back here using her astral arts.

Since it was getting late, they couldn’t help but think of the other possibility. But what Shirley said should be correct.

It was likely Davis was hiding from the eyes of the Heaven’s Warriors. Perhaps it was the Celestial Transcendent who pushed him too far.

”True,” Isabella nodded, ”Myria isn’t freaking out, nor is Zenova. Although they’re both in seclusion, one is connected to Davis through a strange karmic connection the likes of them couldn’t understand, and the other is obsessed enough to place a binding charm on him. It would not be strange for Zenova to fly off while she’s still pregnant or Myria to take off and just go by herself. Since they both believe he is alive and well, there is no reason for us to be panicked to this degree. Let’s just wait for Mingzhi’s report.”
