Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5251: The Other Aspect Of Reaping Scythe Laws

Davis’s expression remained calm.

The density of his aura had only just begun to rise above Level Nine Exalt Stage when the Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Emperor suddenly narrowed his eyes.

”Don’t let him finish!”

His roar exploded across the battlefield.

*Boom!~*

The moment those condemning and calculative words left his mouth, the Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Emperor moved first.

Darkness exploded from his body like a collapsing abyss. His broad shoulders twisted and both palms slammed forward, launching twin hydra-headed torrents of pure darkness that tore through the fractured space and raced toward Davis before the deathly glow around the avatar could fully stabilize.

”Well, well-”

Davis’s eyes narrowed into a cold glint as he lifted Yama in a single fluid arc. The black-yellow edge met the twin torrents head-on and split them apart with a clean, ringing impact. The hydra heads of darkness dissolved into scattered shadows that drifted harmlessly past his shoulders. He had blocked the opening strike of the empire’s strongest present expert without yielding a single step.

*Clang!~*

The six-headed hydra phantom behind the Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Emperor opened all six maws as an abyssal torrent condensed into the black spear he held. Darkness and the heavy force of water revolved around it like thick black ink spheres before it shot toward Davis with enough force to split mountains apart.

He was instantly facing the enormous might of a Supreme Primarch whose prowess put him at Level Twelve Primarch Stage, not to mention the added power of a Peak-Level Primarch Grade Spear.

It only took Davis a moment to tell if it was an armament or an artifact since the latter carries abilities that one might find difficult to deal with. Unluckily, it might even be a Legacy Artifact with how dense its aura was. To his fortune, he instantly knew it was only an armament and struck forward.

At the same time, the Peak Primarchs no longer held back.

The Gale Burial Pavilion Master slashed his sword.

Thousands of emerald sword rays crossed one another, transforming into a gigantic burial sword formation that sought to shred everything within its path.

A black-white crescent quietly flashed through the storm.

*Clang!*

Yama rose in Davis’s hand with astonishing precision. The scythe’s curved blade intercepted the abyssal spear at its very tip.

Instead of meeting force with force, he merely rotated his wrist, causing the long blade to glide along the spear’s shaft before carrying its momentum aside with a slight shift in posture and balance.

The enormous attack veered away from him and blasted into a distant mountain range.

*Boom!~* Entire peaks vanished beneath exploding darkness.

The Abyssal Radiance Empire Emperor’s pupils constricted as he retreated after those two attacks.

’He redirected it...?’

Before anyone could recover, the Gale Burial Pavilion Master’s countless sword rays arrived.

Davis finally moved.

Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps!

His figure was on the verge of disappearance but was forcefully kept bound by a hidden karmic expert in the vicinity, causing faint outlines of his figure to be revealed.

However, the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps weren’t only useful for concealment. Dozens of afterimages appeared through his path as he vanished and reappeared again and again. The emerald sword rays pursued every illusion simultaneously until one finally reached him.

*Clang!~* *Clang!~* *Clang!~*

Yama danced like a crescent moon.

Its black-white blade described graceful arcs through the air, every swirl intercepting dozens of swords at once. Rather than resisting their momentum directly, he let each strike slide along the curved edge before spinning his body.

The scythe completed perfect circular sweeps. Crescent after crescent bloomed around him like moonlit radiance. The incoming sword rain was scattered in every direction.

Gale Burial Pavilion’s sword cultivators drew their blades in perfect unison. Thousands of emerald sword lights screamed forward in a dense rain of cutting wind.

However, metallic explosions echoed endlessly.

Not a single blade managed to touch his robes as his scythe arts reached a state of perfect defense.

The Gale Burial Pavilion Master’s expression froze.

’Impossible...! That isn’t brute force... he’s reading every trajectory! This isn’t just his skill with his Phyletic Laws of Scythe...!’

Davis dashed toward the Gale Burial Pavilion Master, but the latter was hurriedly covered by his Grand Elders, who were in a battle formation with their disciples.

He frowned as he saw it wasn’t going to be easy breaking the sect’s battle sword formation when he saw that he didn’t have time to ponder as the people who were late and ’hesitating’ finally made their move.

Poison mist and gray-furred beasts surged from the east as the Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch roared, releasing a wave of corrosive toxin light that melted the very air. Spatial rifts cracked open around the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan, purple-haired elders folding space itself into razor-edged lightning blades that flickered with sharpness.

They gave him no time to finish powering up.

Yet Davis’s expression remained calm as he shifted through the onslaught.

Davis twisted his wrist and reaped sideways. The black-yellow edge of Yama sliced cleanly through the rolling toxic mist. Where the scythe passed, the deadly poison did not simply vanish. Something strange happened. The corrosive light cloud turned pure and silvery, becoming a regenerative healing mist that drifted harmlessly past his body.

”What the...”

The sword cultivators nearby looked at it in astonishment.

The countless toxins rapidly transformed into soft silver-colored mist.

An astonishing fragrance spread across heaven and earth as the previously lethal poison became a nurturing energy that restored vitality instead. At the very least, it seemed like it.

”Huh?”

The Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch looked dumbfounded. When had his poison light become a healing light? What the fuck was this!?

But he couldn’t stop his tail from wagging as he looked at his master like a puppy would, nearly barking out praises.

The attacks didn’t stop there.

Spatial blades folded in from every direction, seeking to trap and bisect him.

Davis’s feet never truly touched the ground again, nor did he ask for Jaiyan’s help. The latter remained calm.

Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps unfolded as his death energy surged throughout Davis’s body with the aid of ghostly yang death energy. His figure blurred into a succession of afterimages that slipped between the closing spatial edges as though they were nothing more than painted lines on an empty canvas. One moment he stood in the path of a void-cutting rift and dark violet lightning pierced empty air, yet he was already away three steps beyond it, the attack closing on empty air.

The Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan Patriarch’s calm expression finally cracked, nearly thinking he might be exposed since he had unleashed an attack that was a bit overbearing.

However, Davis’s gaze was elsewhere already as his focus never left the battlefield.

Several elders of the Zephyros Family saw an opening.

”There!”

Over a dozen noble experts unleashed condensed wind spears while hidden spatial blades closed off every avenue of escape. They looked forward to seeing the Divine Emperor of Death finally cornered.

Instead, they saw the Divine Emperor of Death slowly turn his head.

Nothing more.

His sapphire eyes met theirs, and within those calm pupils, it was as though endless cycles of life and death revolved as reincarnation energy brimmed within.

They saw countless corpses and a sea of blood, reminiscent of the Galaxy Wormhole battlefield, instinctively feeling that they were already dead.

The Zephyros Family experts froze where they stood.

Their complexions became deathly pale, and their morale took a hit as several noble elders instinctively staggered backward. One younger Primarch’s fingers loosened around his treasured spear.

*Clang!*

The weapon slipped from his trembling hand, causing everyone to look at him with incredulous gazes.

He had no words to offer and nearly lashed out, daring them to go fight the Divine Emperor of Death instead!

The Zephyros Family Patriarch’s earlier smile vanished. A single look from the Divine Emperor of Death carried enough silent pressure that their spiritlines trembled, warning them that any further movement would be under the scrutiny of the scythe.

Davis floated amid the dissipating attacks, the black-white scythe resting lightly in his hand, the deathly glow around him still climbing higher.

The preemptive strike had failed to force him back even a single step.

Yet, he wasn’t done yet.

He dashed towards the void, leaving every disciple, the Elders, and Emperor here as he directly attacked the Ancestors. With a full moon slash, the mountain clouds above and the space were torn apart.

”Junior, you dare!?”

Five figures were instantly forced out of the void, their combined might causing the minds of everyone around to collapse and their hearts to be stricken with fear!
