Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5279: Baleful Yang Heart Crystal

Davis stroked his chin a few more times before saying with a smile, ”I’m in an extremely good mood, and you accommodated us when we needed it the most, so I’ll add two more Darkness-Attributed High-Level Exalt Grade resources for you. It shouldn’t be of help to you if you eat it raw, but the pills that could be made with it should be more than enough for you to advance in levels.”

”Great!”

Exawelese Skylov flapped her wings in joy. As long as she had the resources, she could seek Pill Exalts and have them concoct it for her. She also had enough wealth after living for a long time, so it wasn’t a problem. Heck, if she brought them back to her sect, there are pill masters there that would help her for little cost.

That was the perk of being in a sect! At most, she would owe them favors, and as a magical beast, she had nothing but time to return the favor, unlike humans who face tribulations every nine thousand years and steadily lose their bloodsoul essence.

Sensing how joyful this roc was, Davis figured she still didn’t know he was the Divine Emperor of Death.

He didn’t know if she was kind, trusting, or just desperately wanted this deal to happen. She didn’t look naive, so he imagined she was cautious and stayed here, monitoring him from fleeing this region with the World Hegemon Grade Treasure- Eternal Nightshade Moonflower. He guessed she was just being careful from experience of losing the previous two treasures in the past million years.

As for giving her two High-Level Exalt Grade resources, he had already made contact with his avatar since his avatar came back looking for him since he was clearly late! It was already the fourth day. Once they connected, the avatar instantly understood and began to sell the treasure maps.

Hence, the avatar had gained over ninety-four Exalt Grade resources. It was less than expected, but the number of High-Level Exalt Grade resources in his stock had clearly risen to a great level, making his family become more enriched.

They had collected 54 High-Level Exalt Grade resources, 19 Mid-Level, 16 Low-Level, but also 5 Peak-Level Exalt Grade resources! Most of them were innately tied to this realm, so they were all darkness, water, poison, wind, and a minority of wood, fire, and earth. Of them, the Low-Level Ones were all Greater Law resources, one even a Supreme Law resource!

Even when collecting so many treasures from different powers, a Supreme Law Treasure rarely ever appeared, and even if it appeared, it would be in no way placed for sale!

Davis had exchanged it by offering two Mid-Level Exalt Grade resources apart from the ones collected and a treasure map, offering it to the Yerevan Family, who possessed a Blaze Law treasure, which was a Yang Fusion between Fire Laws and Darkness Laws.

He had specifically gone after it, ready to give out Peak-Level Exalt Grade resources for it since it was of great help to his Sophie, who possessed the Malevolent Darkness Soul Physique!

Davis knew his Sophie was also troubled by the Malevolent Darkness Soul Physique that made dark thoughts appear more prevalently. Still, Sophie seemed to be doing well, always smiling and cheerful. All her energy was spent forging armaments and artifacts, hitting and hammering them, which directly took out all the evil within her, tempering even her soul.

She practiced yang-fire flames that shone as azure-golden flames, which had been greatly useful for forging, and Malevolent Darkness Soul Physique, which is of nefarious yin, didn’t let the surge of yang affect her body, always maintaining an equilibrium.

Hence, Sophie didn’t become too muscular had had a well-toned, perfect, curvaceous body that would make anyone drool.

So they hadn’t looked after her Malevolent Darkness Soul Physique and let it be, but with this treasure known as the Baleful Yang Heart Crystal, she could fuse the soul physique and her yang-fire cultivation in the Exalt Stage threshold and become more powerful, possessing terrifying blaze-yang flames that were greatly useful for forging as well as for battling.

He honestly couldn’t wait to return to make love with her using the pretense of learning forging, although learning forging was still on his list to do as he intended to reforge Yama by himself by doing something crazy.

Davis, at the moment, wasn’t connected to his avatar, so he didn’t know about what he gathered for Sophie.

But naturally, he had left out this place from the treasure map sale since he didn’t want anyone disturbing the dual cultivation session with Illumina. As for the other hidden powers who secretly harvested the World Hegemon Grade Treasures, they were surely locked in a fierce battle or war.

However, Davis knew the Celestial Transcendent or other supreme commanders of the war command would send out word for everyone to stop fighting over resources, so he wasn’t worried that it would cause severe casualties.

Ultimately, he had come out as the winner in the end. He couldn’t wait to count the number of World Hegemon resources they had gained after Fairy Glacia Frigidveil returned.

Having gained so much and experienced bliss in this short time, it made him cautious instead. What came after glory was tragedy, and what came after a windfall was downfall. As this roc before him said, it was an eternal law comparable to that of the ever-changing states of yin and yang.

So he carefully asked her, ”If you hadn’t investigated me yet, then what makes you think I will uphold my end of the deal?”

Exawelese Skylov narrowed her dark violet eyes. Her tone became solemn but also confusion.

”I’ve sent one of my trusted subordinates to investigate you, but he returned with ridiculous information, stating that the Hexadra Clan can no longer be contacted through the usual channels. I’ve sent a few more out to investigate further, but you came out first. So, who are you?”

”...”

Davis turned speechless.

What did the mean the Hexadra Clan can no longer be contacted? How could it be contacted when it had packed its bags and left while the remnants were either being hunted down or jailed until further insight?

He couldn’t help but say, ”You only have contact with the Hexadra Clan after isolating yourself here?”

”Yeah,” Exawelese Skylov nearly rolled her eyes as though it was a matter of fact, ”Although the Hexadra Clan wouldn’t offend me, I can’t simply offend them either. They also have World Hegemons in the Greater Realm. Hence, I can’t do as I please in these waters, nor do I want to be bootlicked by many others who couldn’t wait to become my slaves just so they could upgrade their status from nearly nothing. Oh well, it doesn’t matter, for you took something from me and karma formed between us”

She nudged her forehead with her forewing, ”See my jewel? It’s capable of cursing you to death. No matter who you are and the armor you possess, an Empyrean like you can’t possibly withstand.”

She cackled in a soft yet teasing tone.

”Curse Laws, a fusion of Darkness Laws and Karma Laws... interesting...”

Davis only viewed her as a Darkness and Wind Law magical beast. He didn’t expect her to be capable of using a curse, and with such a jewel on her forehead, he didn’t underestimate her since such special characteristics like horns or a third eye would always surely carry a formidable aspect.

”Hehe, it’s not a species technique. I learned it myself, and it is a Divine Technique.”

”Even more wonderful...!” Davis uttered with shock and admiration.

A magical beast learning a Divine Technique- that was simply unheard of in his book. After all, most Divine Techniques were transcribed from watching a magical beast perform a species technique. It was difficult for a beast to invent moves that were not in their innate attribute.

Clearly, becoming Exalt Beasts gave them a chance to learn more from adjacent Laws.

Light and Darkness always had a big relation to Karma, and Darkness’s relation to Karma had long been explored and systematized with the advent of Curse Laws, and its talismanic or shamanic cultivation method that he had only read about in ancient records since it was long lost and discontinued or even suppressed since it was one of the old devil or wicked path cultivations.

Exawelese Skylov held her beak high like a swan, even shooting a look at Illumina as though telling her she couldn’t compare with her when it came to martial skills. On the other hand, Illumina was at ease, forgetting about martial constraints and only thinking about how she could nurture her progeny and deliver safely.

Seeing the rabbit turn unresponsive, she was reminded of her envy and also felt strange that the rabbit wasn’t worried about her master since she could curse him to death and was about to yap when Davis’s voice echoed out.

”So, tell me more about the True Exalt Beast path- what kind of methods are there to cultivate and what lies ahead of it?”

He gestured to her, making her turn solemn since it couldn’t be spoken freely.
