Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2988  Another Type Of Possession

”Itʼs not your fault. Itʼs someone elseʼs fault…” The Starlight Jade Wolf King uttered with emotion.

”You… no… I remember now…”

Feeling her mind become clearer by the second but also experiencing the taste of freedom as though she was released from something, Renfa Jadelight was able to remember what had happened after meeting that strange black-robed person and how she was controlled without even noticing it.

Davis stayed silent in this confusion, but the Ancestors and Grand Elders were no longer able to hold back their silence.

”Whatʼs going on…?”

The First Ancestor asked, his voice solemn.

”Little One, weʼre not sure yet, but thereʼs no harm, so go back and seal the room.”

Davion Jadelight turned around and narrowed his eyes at the Ancestors.

He knew how important this matter was for their clan, but regardless of the implication for their clan, it was harmful to his great-grandmother-in-lawʼs reputation. There was no way he or anyone here would like to let these scandal-like events get out of this room.

But more than anything, he couldnʼt help but glance at the purple-robed man who possessed a calm demeanor even now when the feat he had accomplished right now was nothing short of resurrection.

He wasnʼt all that shocked by the word ʼresurrectionʼ as some Immortal Emperors, especially many in the past, were capable of it, particularly immortal inheritors who comprehended Space and Time Laws.

However, he had never seen a method to revive that didnʼt invoke a heavenly tribulation. Extending his senses out as he kept an eye on everything, even possible spies, the only thing he saw the Emperor of Death invoke was a change in weather despite being an Anarchic Divergent, causing his gaze to flicker with pure shock.

ʼHe… heʼs truly worthy of the title Divine…ʼ

The Ancestors and Grand Elders didnʼt know what to say.

”…”

The Emperor of Death was quite calm, and Empress Nadia didnʼt seem to release her aura anymore. Their Patriarch was embracing the second inheritor, the great mother to all of them, but the third inheritor told them to go out.

This scene was beyond their comprehension, causing them to eventually leave.

A while later, Renfa Jadelight took back her hands, her golden eyes gleaming with clarity.

ʼShe already healed her injuries…ʼ

Davis pursed his lips as he saw her stand up, casting a glance at him. A complicated gleam appeared in her eyes as she bowed her head.

”No matter what, it is I-

”Enough.”

Davis flicked his finger, causing a wave of wind to emerge as it lifted up Renfa Jadelight.

”Iʼm well versed in situations that concern possession. At the very least, it isnʼt my first time encountering it, so I donʼt blame you at all.”

”You peeked inside my memories… didnʼt you?”

”…”

Davis went speechless. Although he had to do what he had to, he was now in possession of everything chaste to her. It went without saying that a lady with a virtuous mindset like her would murder him for it.

The Starlight Jade Wolf Kingʼs expression also turned awkward.

He had never made a move on his peopleʼs women, but he accepted widows. On that note, he didnʼt care if Renfa Jadelightʼs husband was alive as well, as she did parade around lying that she had one back then, perhaps for the sake of her child, but now it turned out to be not true.

”If you can, seal those memories. Otherwise, I canʼt do anything about it.”

Renfa Jadelight spoke in a low voice before she shook her head and turned to look at the Starlight Jade Wolf King.

”Iʼll reveal everything that happened in my life to you, so donʼt misunder-”

”What are you saying?” The Starlight Jade Wolf King caught her hands, ”You died and revived safely without any remnant influence of the possessor whatsoever. Thereʼs nothing more that I could ask for…”

”I… I died…? Revived… what-?”

Renfa Jadelightʼs expression was full of confusion, causing the others to blink.

She didnʼt even know she died?

Renfa Jadelight then listened to their iteration of the events and was shocked. She felt that she was only knocked out unconscious before waking up and feeling the pain in her eyes. She never thought she had died, causing her to part her lips in pure disbelief.

She wanted to turn around and thank Davis but felt her cheeks heat up.

What did he owe her to revive her? Even if she was possessed, it didnʼt change the fact that she harmed him and harmed four other women.

”As I said. Thereʼs no need for forgiveness or gratefulness between us. You made a mistake, and I made a mistake, so itʼs done.”

Davis spoke in a wry tone, ”Now if you could reiterate the events of what had happened to them, that would be helpful.”

Although Davis was sure that his relationship with the Starlight Jade Wolf King would be no longer the same, he wanted to salvage anything he could.

Deep in his heart, he felt that if he had handled this matter without displaying wrath, then things mightʼve gone differently, but he was completely sure of his speculation because if no one was the culprit, not even the Blazing Thunderlight Sectʼs Founder whom he doubted the most, then it could be no one but Renfa Jadelight who had access to the Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs quarters in that guest palace.

And since he learned that she knew Light Laws and Karma Laws, he knew chances were that she knew Illusion Laws as well, which would allow her to fool the elders who were guarding his room that day.

Therefore, he was more than ninety percent sure about his speculation, and the moment Renfa Jadelight accepted it, rage clouded his mind, disallowing him to think that she might not have been responsible for this matter, wanting to check if she had stolen his seeds or not.

He was afraid that she had used it on herself when he saw her doing something similar in her memories, but it seemed like it was not the case after he saw Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley appear, causing him to feel extremely guilty.

”Indeed. I tried to defend myself using Karma Laws when I saw that strange person but got caught in his trap as he took over me. He called that enchant if Iʼm not wrong. However, rather than the act of possession, I would say that he… imprinted a part of himself in me and… influenced me when he wanted, and perhaps, sealed or hid those memories which could only be accessed by himself...”

Renfa Jadelight spoke as she had a frown on her face, trying to make sense of the situation, ”I… didnʼt sense anything strange other than my thoughts being chaotic, which I thought was because of you or him, which turned out to be very wrong. This is a kind of karmic possession I have never seen, so if my guess is right… unless someone can fully purify my soul essence, then no one couldʼve saved me but you… how did you do it…?”

She looked at Davis with a gaze full of disbelief, causing him to spread his hands.

”I revived you by healing and invoking your three spiritual souls, causing your seven physical souls to revive and form a fully vibrant soul essence which is you. It doesnʼt matter what or how that man or woman enchants you, but thatʼs not going to work on Fallen Soul Resurrection Technique that almost resurrects you from scratch, presumably like the... reincarnation cycle.”

Hearing Davisʼs answer, the three of them were shaken.

He can revive himself, and revive others, perhaps almost endlessly.

Did he know the word life and death in his life? Or does he own them?
