Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2974 Multiple Attempts

Davis stared at Patriarch Killian Zenflame, his eyes blinking before he turned to look at the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic artifact spiritʼs face. He only glanced at her for two seconds before walking past her.

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit trembled, seemingly not knowing what to do even while Patriarch Killian Zenflame screamed at the top of his lungs.

”Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic, Killian Zenflame is not the Patriarch, nor do the three inheritors recognize him. Therefore, what you must do now is destroy the barrier.”

Resounded Shirleyʼs voice from the messaging talisman, causing the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic to quiver more.

*Boom!~*

Crackling sounds of lightning and the piercing sound of blades struck the scarlet barrier Patriarch Killian Zenflame was hiding in, causing him to be sent flying. However, it didnʼt seem like he lost balance but used the momentum to retreat further with a mocking smile on his face before suddenly screaming out.

”Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic! Are you disobeying me!? Youʼd rather listen to that slut who doesnʼt have the benefits of the Fire Phoenix Clan in her mind!?”

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit shivered again before turning to look at Patriarch Killian Zenflame, glaring at him for using such disgusting terms. However, closing her eyes, she looked away.

”I canʼt...”

Davis narrowed his brows as he heard her reply. It seems like the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic was still caught between a rock and a hard place, not knowing what to do. Deeming that she was hopeless, he walked towards Patriarch Killian Zenflame again.

This time, his aura underwent a minute change.

The air around became sizzling, and the wind only heightened or, rather, worsened the air. Those who were around him would feel even their throats burned and ripped by inhaling this air.

Looking at this scene, Patriarch Killian Zenflameʼs gaze flickered. He knew this was some kind of ungodly combination between heavenly lightning and heavenly wind, as he could guess upon sensing the change in atmosphere.

However, he didnʼt seem scared at all.

”I thought so. Your cultivation has dropped from cultivation so fast, and I assume it would continue to drop if you exert yourself further, so donʼt bother- heh!”

He was smug, but Davis still held a calm expression on his face.

Two times… his Shirley was called a slut two times by Patriarch Killian Zenflame. Not mentioning Shirley, who didnʼt display any anger to these words as she remained silent, it wouldnʼt be an exaggeration to say he was suppressing his rage that threatened to break his focus at the moment. If he couldnʼt focus, then he wouldnʼt be able to unleash the calamitous move he had almost unleashed on Lereza.

And since Patriarch Killian Zenflame was inside his barrier like a turtle, what other best choice was there to test his move?

However-

”Whatʼs the meaning of this?

Davisʼs sapphire gaze turned red as he saw the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit block his path.

At this moment, he didnʼt have the capability to stop himself from using Fallen Heaven to destroy both their soul imprints. Even if it brought him misfortune, he didnʼt want to leave this bastard alive.

”Hehe~”

Looking at the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit defend him, Patriarch Killian Zenflame snickered.

He was just about to say something when his pupils dilated as he saw the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit raising her hands in surrender.

”I donʼt have any offensive capabilities. All I have is the power to seal and hasten the death of the prisoner in the chamber of cessation by removing heaven and earth energy expeditiously, even from oneʼs own body.”

Davis raised his brows, his red eyes turning sapphire again, ”So what? Are you willing to be named a traitor to the Fire Phoenix Clan if I were to die a dogʼs death in the end? Make a decision or move out of the way. As long as you remain loyal to Shirley, I wonʼt erase you.”

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spiritʼs bosoms heaved before she turned around, looking at Patriarch Killian Zenflame once again.

”Wai-”

*Whoosh!~*

Then, without saying anything, she raised her arm and waved her hand in a slapping motion, causing Patriarch Killian Zenflame to disappear along with the barrier.

”You traitorous bitch! I swear I will fucking melt you and absorb your spirit essence!”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame roared as he found himself in the chamber of cessation. Although his energy wasnʼt drained, the energy maintaining the defensive barrier was being absorbed.

*Crack!~* *Crack!~*

Patriarch Killian Zenflame tried to use two spatial talismans in succession, both failing to carve open anything as space was tightly sealed here. He should know better, but the desperation on his face betrayed his emotions.

*Crack!~* *Crack!~*

He even tried overlaying barriers with multiple defensive talismans, but no matter what he did, the energy inside the outermost barrier continued to be drained.

Davisʼs lips curled with a sense of epicaricacy as he saw Patriarch Killian Zenflame struggle to defend against the devouring power of the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic. It rapidly ate the energy in the chamber of cessation. However, a frown quickly appeared on Davisʼs face as he turned to look at the artifact spirit.

”Did you do that to save him?”

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic didnʼt turn to look at him but spoke after a second.

”Heʼs still the Patriarch of the Fire Phoenix Clan. I hope you can give him a respectable death.”

”Respectable death?”

Davis looked like he had heard something amusing. He was about to reply when a sound popped off.

”Sure.”

Shirleyʼs bold voice emanated.

”I heard that youʼre capable of removing energy from this so-called chamber of cessation, but where would it go? To fuel yourself? Even if thatʼs the case, you should divert it and send it all to my husband in return for your request. Do you understand?”

”…”

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs looked speechless while Davisʼs brows also flickered in interest.

ʼIndeed, if I can use the energy that is being absorbed from him, then I should be able to easily stabilize my cultivation…ʼ

Davis imagined that the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic was capable of self-sufficiency since it boasted of being capable of sealing its opponents. Therefore, if it could remove or absorb energy from the prisoner, then it should be able to feed itself after going through a formation to convert the energy into pure heaven and earth energy in order to maintain itself.

However, Davis was confident that he didnʼt need that as he got the chaotic-tempered body to handle such constraints. Most energy that was indigestible was not a problem to him, especially with life energy being there to smoothen the process. Even poisons were not a problem to him unless they were at a level where he couldnʼt counter it.

”Did you not want to talk?”

Nonetheless, he couldnʼt help but ask Shirley.

”I wasted my time. There was nothing to talk to that miserable son of a-.”

ʼFigures…ʼ Davis inwardly nodded his head while Shirley almost cursed Patriarch Killian Zenflame.

She didnʼt want to talk to him, not because he humiliated her with words but because she could tell that he had gone crazy from being trapped. She imagined that he was no longer the old Patriarch Killian Zenflame, who was calm and cold in his calculations but a desperate phoenix that tried to save himself by using all kinds of reasons.

Although it was pitiable, she couldnʼt feel an ounce of pity in her heart. The actions the Fire Phoenix Clan and he took didnʼt let her feel anything other than seething rage.

”Make use of his entire being. We can give him a ʼrespectableʼ death later.” Shirley added.

Her words caused Davis to be surprised as he imagined that she would be the one who was most receptive to having Patriarch Killian Zenflame getting maimed and flayed right now, but it seemed as though it was not the case as he recognized that she somewhat grew beyond the hatred; focusing on his growth instead.

This couldnʼt help but blow off the heat surrounding his head, causing him to have a short sigh.

With that decided, Davis forced the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs artifact spirit to lead him to the energy source chamber if at all it had one. It didnʼt have one, as the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic was literally its body, so he went out, entering the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace again.

Due to the existence of an Immortal Emperor and an Immortal Emperor Grade Artifact, he was not able to activate the temporal formation, but that didnʼt bother him.

If there was an emergency, he was sure that he would be notified by his people.

Secluding himself while holding the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic in his palms, Davis began to cultivate. The scarlet glow emanating from it released the energy it extricated from Patriarch Killian Zenflame, allowing him to absorb it.

”…”

Davis was surprised to see that the energy was somewhat calm and not berserk. He wondered if it went through a formation that converts the energy into heaven and earth energy but didnʼt pay attention anymore as he began to receive them in droves.
