Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2980  The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Prophecy

”Lastly, is Tia there?”

”Tia?” Evelynn blinked, ”Wait for a few seconds. She-”

”Was I called!?”

”…”

Evelynnʼs lips twitched as she saw Tia rush to her and stand before her with such passion. She was just playing with Eterna and Celestia in a corner, playing tag with them as she tried to dodge their touch.

*Paah~*

”Ah~”

Tia squealed. She clenched her teeth and saw the two naughty girls slap her butt and run away. It was her turn to catch them, but she inwardly grumbled and returned her gaze to Evelynn.

”Here.”

Evelynn wryly smiled and presented the messaging talisman to Tia.

Unlike the Quarter-Century Million Kilometer Messaging Talisman, this messaging talisman has an incredible range of five hundred million kilometers and further has a secure channel that doesnʼt travel in a straight line but through the fourth and fifth layers of space.

It was valued as a Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Messaging Talisman, so if anything, they didnʼt worry about being spied upon.

”Try not to make it so obvious.”

But as Tia took the talisman, a soul transmission fell in her mind from Evelynn, causing her to blush.

”Big brother, did you call me?”

”I did.” Davis responded, ”Tia, I have a doubt to ask. In the divination field, what are ancient prophecies and why-”

He questioned her how the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan could perform an ancient prophecy of him.

”Big brother, I think you have misunderstood ancient divinations a bit.”

”How?”

Tia responded, causing Davis to blink.

”Divinations stemming from ancient times predicting matters of fortune or misfortune in the far future are known as prophecies, so itʼs a fallacy to state them as ancient prophecies. Regardless, ancient divinations mostly donʼt pinpoint a particular matter or a particular person. It uses ambiguous, symbolic language and leaves out specific details so as to leave many interpretations about it, so it might not be necessarily pointing at you, big brother.”

”And if at all it does vaguely speaks about you or outright points at you, an Anarchic Divergent, then that means the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan has sacrificed a few or a lot of their people to obtain this prophecy.”

”I see.” Davis felt like he got to know more.

”Can I know what the ancient divination says?”

”Oh. I havenʼt seen it yet, and I donʼt know if I will see it, but I will tell you if I lay my gaze on it.”

”Ah~ Okay~”

Tia replied

”By the way, is Mystic Diviner Hailac… well?”

”Big brother, there is no problem with teacher. Sheʼs fine and teaching me lots and growing along with me as we exchange a lot of knowledge. However, she wants to apologize for the mess she created, so she was looking forward to meeting you, but she said that she ʼnext timeʼ, delaying her apology because you were busy.”

”…”

Davis pursed his lips, feeling a bit guilty about her.

Fraser Herrion had messed up her psyche, causing her to forcibly fall in love with him. Now, she must be trying to forget him, but he didnʼt pay any attention to her between his enemies, his cultivation, and taking care of his women.

There was simply no time for him, but it sounded like she was mature enough to understand.

”Alright, tell her to take care and that I will meet her soon as soon as I have time.”

”Okay~”

Tia replied cheerfully, ”But big brother, when are you going to come to see me?”

”Hm? Little lass, you want some gifts?”

”Gifts…?” Tia pursed her lips, ”Yes.”

”Haha. I spoil you. Nonetheless, Iʼll try to bring you some gifts when I return. Take care.”

”Mhm~”

The messaging talisman lost its glow, and Tia gave it back to Evelynn, who kept smiling at her.

”Little Tia, I donʼt mean to pour a bucket of cold water on you, but you do realize-”

”I know.” Tia interrupted Evelynn, her purple eyes flickering.

”I know, but I still wonʼt give up.”

”Ah~”

Her lips curled before she smoothly turned around and skipped away, zooming towards those two little rascals who screamed and escaped in two directions, leaving Evelynn closing her eyes and shaking her head ever so lightly.

Isabella and Shirley, who was also near, looked at each other and giggled.

Their husband sure was giving Tia a hard time maintaining her sanity.

=======

”Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch, to what do I owe you the pleasure?”

As Davis asked, he thought back to the things he asked Tia and knew what to expect from them.

However, he still couldnʼt understand.

There were too many changes in fate in his life, as he used Fallen Heaven multiple times. Even without using it, he could vaguely feel that the direction he was going in was not limited but still within restrictions, allowing him to slightly or majorly change the course of the future depending on the action he took.

Thatʼs why he had also never used Fallen Heaven on extremely influential targets like the Fire Phoenix Patriarch or other similar entities with higher cultivation capable of impacting the world with just their cultivation, even if they remain unknown.

Nevertheless, he couldnʼt understand how there could be any divinations about him, and the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan chose to help him because of that. After all, fate wouldnʼt have many records of him if it was a system of something. How could it know what he would change in the future if it was from the past?

ʼDoes this mean linear fate or parallel fate exists?ʼ

Davis had many ridiculous questions.

It felt absurd to even think about this matter with little knowledge. If it didnʼt concern different types of fate, then he would have to doubt the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs authenticity and display hostility unless they were lying but just wanted to get into this good graces, which he didnʼt mind because he needed allies in this point of his life.

But of course, he wouldnʼt treat them the same as those allies who were purely with him for dedication and loyalty as they trusted him, his words.

”Greetings, Emperor of Death.”

The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch finally answered after a long pause as he seemed to command his subordinates to take out something.

”Iʼm sure you feel confused, conflicted, and doubtful of our presence here in the Central Primesky Alliance that still supports you, so I am here to convince you of our sincerity.”

He got an ancient scroll from them and presented it to Davis with solemnity.

”This is an ancient prophecy that has been passed down generation after generation ever since our first immortal inheritor obtained the inheritance.”

”…”

Davis blinked once. He thought for a moment, wondering if there were any traps, before taking the A balance sought, as life and death are sown.

With the bearer of moon, guided by the turtleʼs sight,

parchment in his hands and ripping the seal on it open.

The scrollʼs edge fell, revealing the content written in blood. He could feel the blood aura of the Obsidian Crystal Turtles from it.

[

In shadows deep, a soul entwined by misfortuneʼs embrace,

The obsidian turtle, ancient guardian in its space.

Together they journey, unlocking realms unknown,

A balance sought, as life and death are sown.

With the bearer of moon, guided by the turtleʼs sight,

Their destinies entwined, shrouded in twilight.

Through dark and light, their path full of misfortune,

A tale of karma, their story leads to our fortune.

]

”…”

Davisʼs brows twitched as he read the eight lines of poetry that appeared to be an ancient prophecy.

Although he was far from literature, he was able to infer a few things from this so-called ancient prophecy.

”Our apologies. We believe you are the soul entwined by misfortune, an Anarchic Divergent. It even states that life and death are sown as it points at your incredible powers. As for the bearer of the moon, we believe that it is your death-attributed wolf. She has a regal crescent mark on her forehead from what weʼve seen.”

The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch bowed along with his entourage.

”Therefore, we strongly believe as long as we support you, fortune will follow us.”

”…”

Davis felt a cold sweat running over his back.

”What if it doesnʼt?”

”Then itʼs our foolishness. We are ready to take the loss if it means we will finally have a chance at fortune.”

”Is the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan in the true immortal world on the verge of extinction?”

”We donʼt know, but considering that this is a prophecy that foretells our fortune, we canʼt ignore it either. Generations after generations of our people were looking for the signs, and finally, we can no longer pinpoint anyone but you, and combined with the fact that this is the era of Candidacy, we wholeheartedly believe that the prophecy pinpoints you.”

Hearing the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan Patriarchʼs words, Davis reeled in... realizing the truth.

ʼWhat the… this is Myria… the bearer of moon obviously means yin, which points at a female… and sheʼs with an Obsidian Crystal Turtle... not to mention having the same powers as me...ʼ
