Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2966 Rampage

”Obviously, itʼs been timed along with the Candidacy by whoeverʼs hosting it.”

”Indeed. Our Ancestors also got wind of it while they were in seclusion.”

Great Ancestor Zenflame shook his head while the Starlight Jade Wolf King nodded. They looked like they were in awe over the fact that someone could basically play them around like a fiddle. To them, that existence was a deity in itself.

Davis scratched his head, almost feeling the same, before he looked into his palace and saw that Hirona and Sierra were having a talk with a crimson-robed female spirit who seemed to be bound in chains. It instantly became apparent to him that the Fire Phoenix Clan had forced this legacy treasure to do their bidding.

After all, the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic had such a passive- no, kind restriction, only sealing enemies that attacked it or its user. The artifact spirit would have a personality equal to that or at least be merciful enough.

ʼIt was no wonder that idiot Killian was finding it difficult to use it or even sense that I was a soul body… The artifact spirit didnʼt warn him at all…ʼ

”Are you really not going to accept our surrender?”

Davis was woken out of his reverie as his gaze focused on Great Ancestor Zenflame. The smile on his lips faded.

”I already told you and those fools who tried to hunt me. Soon, there will be a declaration of war on the Fire Phoenix Clan from me, but I promise not to target the unrelated people who left the Western and Southwest Fire Phoenix Prefecture. If they stayed, then theyʼre the same as enemies to me.”

”…”

Great Ancestor Zenflame pursed his lips, looking convinced but not as he shook his head.

”This is fair, but to me, I still donʼt want this to happen. How about this? You take down the mastermind behind this senseless situation, Ancestor Reselius. Iʼm sure the other Ancestors and Grand Elders are just afraid of him. We, inheritors, will also actively help you, allowing you to get inside the detection and defensive formations if you need.”

”Ancestor Reselius?” Davis nodded his head, ”How can I believe that youʼre telling the truth? What if I get past the formations but get trapped instead? Are you creating a surefire way to kill me?”

”…”

Great Ancestor Zenflame became speechless. At this point, the Emperor of Death was still doubting him. What an overcautious person!

He clenched his teeth, ”What should I do to make you believe then?”

”Oh, you donʼt need to do anything.”

*Whoosh*

Davis waved his hands, causing Hirona and Sierra to appear suddenly. Once they were outside, they gawked, unable to believe he would throw them out as rudely as he took them inside. He threw them out once the job was done.

”You- give us back our legacy treasure!”

Sierra complained, but Davis looked away.

”This is a good treasure. Iʼll be taking it as a souvenir for Shirley. As for the miserable man inside, I will also be taking him to be cooked and eaten. Do you three want some?”

”…”

The three immortal inheritors appeared taken aback. Was he not kidding when he said that he was going to make fried chicken?!

Normally, they would be offended at the mention of a chicken, but for some reason, they couldnʼt help but feel their mouths drool, except Great Ancestor Zenflame, who still held a sorrowful outlook. No matter what, Killian Zenflame was still his great-grandson, separated by a few generations, so he couldnʼt be eating him, much less leave him to his death, but his actions have caused his heart to sink time and time again.

He had completely forsaken this great-grandson of his as he couldnʼt accept that this person was indeed his great-grandson with such a devious mindset full of wild ambitions at the expense of their values.

The only emotion he felt was sorrow, sorrow that he failed to end his second son Reselius which led to all this suffering in the Fire Phoenix Clan. The Emperor of Death was just one. It was unknown how much the Fire Phoenix Clan tyrannically ruled under the presence of his second son Reselius.

”Sigh, I-”

”But with this, the coalition is ruined.” Davis suddenly interrupted, ”They wonʼt come after the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan nor the other powers in the Central Primesky Alliance anymore, but if they did, Iʼd be sure to take care of them. Before I bring you all more trouble, brother Fenren, see you all later~”

”Wait!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King bellowed out, but Davis had already gone. He had no choice but to awkwardly look at the Golden Crow Clan, Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan, Earth Dragon Clan, and a few other smaller powers that were waiting to talk with the Emperor of Death.

Quite a distance away, about forty thousand kilometers away, Davis appeared in an uncanny, foggy valley. He carved open a cave and quickly went inside as though he was going to shit, holding his stomach. However, as soon as he made it inside the deep end of the cave, he practically fell to his knees and trembled.

*Pui!~*

He spat out a mouthful of blood, not once but twice, thrice, and kept on spitting, coughing like a sick person.

”Master!~”

Nadia appeared beside him, her purplish-golden eyes laden with worry as she held his shoulders while he continued to spit blood.

It wasnʼt until a while that Davis stopped spitting blood, becoming seated on the hard and cold surface as he lifted his head to look at the ceiling full of colorful crystals.

”Sure enough… cultivating from the beginning of the Immortal Stage to Level Seven Immortal King Stage messed up my body and cultivation badly…”

Even now, he felt like vomiting everything, like throwing up his organs. If it werenʼt for his chaotic-tempered body, he imagined that his body wouldʼve collapsed long ago. If it werenʼt for his strong soul, he knew that he would start experiencing dissonance as the sudden and quick growth in two months was not something even immortals could bear.

”Couldnʼt you heal yourself, master?”

”Nadia, this isnʼt a matter of healing. My cultivation base is unstable because I improved too quickly and flawed at many points, mostly because I have yet to attain annihilative heavenly flames, but itʼs still stable enough, so donʼt worry…”

”I hope master feels better soon…”

Davis reached out his hand, rubbing Nadiaʼs head. Her relieved smile was a treatment for the unbelievable pain he was going through right now. Regardless, he sat in a lotus position and began casting a technique that exuded strange and mysterious vibes.

”But before all else, Nadia…”

Davis had his hands clasped. In a minute, the cave he was in was covered by a glow of colorless light!

”Karmic Void Zone~”

As soon as his voice fell, the glow receded.

”With this, our enemies wouldnʼt be able to find us easily…”

Davis collapsed to his back, where Nadia suddenly transformed into a Nether Springs Death Wolf of appropriate size and had him recline onto her squishy and smooth fur. He had almost fallen unconscious, but with Nadiaʼs soothing, he was able to stay awake as he turned around and held her dear while seeking warmth from her.

With Nadia by his side and Lereza looking out for him, he was able to take a rest without worrying that he would be killed suddenly out of nowhere.
