Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2969 Setback?

Eyelids quivered as a man opened his eyes.

He felt quite lethargic but felt comfortable as a black wolf huddled over him, giving him boundless warmth that his lips curled in happiness despite the pain he was feeling in his stomach. Raising his hand, he rubbed Nadiaʼs wolf face with gratitude.

”Good girl… Has anything happened while I was asleep?”

Nadia shook her head.

She had her two doppelgangers wreaking havoc and disappearing in other locations so that they wouldnʼt find them.

”Master. Itʼs been two days since you began to rest…”

”Two…”

A wry smile hung on Davisʼs lips. He could feel his cultivation slipping, and it finally fell somewhere along these two days, but he was too exhausted to save his cultivation. After all, two months of intense and self-harming cultivation practice left him mentally exhausted than physically exhausted.

When he arrived on the battlefield, he was barely able to walk as every single cell in his body screamed for rest, but he still pushed himself further to save his sworn brotherʼs clan.

ʼWell, it doesnʼt matter since I can regain my cultivation back with the tons of meat I acquired…ʼ

Davis licked his lips, glancing at his spatial ring. A good amount of rest and nutritious and nourishing meat like phoenix meat should drastically stabilize his cultivation, especially when another meat was at Immortal Emperor Grade. Chuckling lightly, he sent his senses into the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace and saw that Patriarch Killian Zenflame gasped for breath.

It seemed like he was trying to break out of the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic but couldnʼt, no matter what, as Hirona and Sierra released the artifact spirit from its binding and informed it of the situation as they used their blood essence to boost its own prowess. Patriarch Killian Zenflame was sealed inside, and the artifact spirit didnʼt release him, but even if it did, Nadia and Lereza seemed to have marked it with their senses, so they would know if it was that kind of action.

Snickering at Patriarch Killian Zenflameʼs miserable expression, he didnʼt do anything other than sit in a lotus position and begin to stabilize his cultivation.

Since his cultivation base fell, he knew that it would be easier to stabilize. At least, it could be done better and sooner than before.

As he circulated his energy, he could feel the pain in his stomach recede.

As for his Immortal Soul Vessel, it was fine, still in the Level Seven Immortal King Stage, except it also needed some stabilizing to do, although not as much as what was required for his Immortal Vessel.

His senses dwelled into his immortal vessel and saw his Body Tempering Cultivation which didnʼt change much but as for the Essence Gathering Cultivation…

ʼWoah… itʼs like a deathly star...ʼ

Looking at the black-crimson core at the very center of the inner world, Davis was shaken.

It was not his revolving core but the core of his inner world. Looking at it for the fifth time, he was smitten by its appearance as it looked so cool, especially with the flying dragons that could be occasionally seen as manifestations in the black-crimson lightning, dark crimson flames, and even the occasional fluorescent jade crimson storm of the annihilative heavenly wind bursting from the very center into all sides of the sphere.

There were also other beasts, but they were minute or negligible. He imagined that this kind of manifestation existed because of the influence of digesting them from a dragonʼs will.

Nonetheless, sensing the incredible power emanating from them, he felt proud.

ʼThis is all thanks to Zestria, Fiora, Eldia, and Zephya for entertaining my… unique way of cultivation…ʼ

Without them, without Zestria and Fiora to smother the berserk immolating and sharp invisibility of the heavenly flames and heavenly wind, there was no way he couldʼve successfully created this physique. Their constant source of yin energy gave him the right amount of catalyst to form this new physique of his.

Therefore, he told them that heʼd also let them name it, giving them the honors that made them feel gratified, but they hadnʼt come up with a name yet.

Nevertheless, by just combining annihilative heavenly lightning and annihilative heavenly wind, his prowess had gone off the charts! It was as powerful as his full-powered chaotic fists, which had actually lowered due to the lack of resources to comprehend Chaos Laws, becoming ten levels higher. Still, he knew that this couldnʼt be helped as what he comprehended was the pinnacle of heavenly tribulations.

Just the annihilative heavenly lightning used by him was nine levels higher, while the annihilative heavenly wind was ten levels higher, perhaps the latter being more destructive, owing to the fact that it was already more powerful than lightning tribulation.

The two of them combined packed a destructive prowess that he hadnʼt imagined, so he wondered what it would be like to combine all three. His excitement was at an all-time high, but he suppressed himself, knowing that trying that would be none other than repeating what happened when combining chaos and destruction, except on a smaller scale.

He knew his dantian, meridians, his organs or limbs, would explode at that point.

Regardless, Davis was very pleased as much as he was disappointed by the flaws, as he knew this was the very best he could create with his current comprehension.

ʼIt was a good thing I decided to cripple myself when I found that I had a giant flaw in the inner world core that actually didnʼt let me use combinations of Laws...ʼ

That was the first time he crippled himself in that session because when he combined two energies, it wasnʼt even able to circulate away from the dantian. Therefore, he crippled himself and continued to do so until there were no major flaws that he could find. Although this wasnʼt as perfect as his Tyrannical Heavenly Firestorm Physique, he felt that it had room for more improvement as long as he could obtain annihilative heavenly flames.

After all, it wasnʼt a revolving core that needed to be solidified. It was the core of the inner world, a source of his Physique that was flexible enough.

After an hour, his cultivation didnʼt stabilize, but he felt somewhat better. With that being the case, he finally connected with Evelynn through a messaging talisman.

”Dear~”

The moment he heard Evelynnʼs voice, a gentle smile appeared on his face. They continued to talk and even exchanged the talisman with other women as they all got in a few words to ask if he was fine. Those passionate bunch warmed his heart again and again.
