Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2981 Helping Out A Brother

”…”

Davis didnʼt know what to say to the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch.

Usually, he would have instantly denied it if the person the other party was looking for was not him but someone else. However, he didnʼt want to trouble Myria. Besides, there was also the desire of wanting to monopolize her as he loved her, not wanting her to be disturbed by anyone else or let her near danger despite knowing she could handle herself but not.

After all, the prophecy obviously stated that their path was full of misfortune.

How could he let the woman he loved walk through that path? Even if she had no choice, he wanted to walk together with her and not leave her alone.

Smiling a bit, he opened his mouth.

”I highly appreciate you people siding with me despite the consequences. I can see why you would think that it points to me, but I donʼt think I am that.”

”Thatʼs fine.” The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch returned a smile as he dropped his hands.

”We are the ones who choose to take this course of action, so thereʼs no need to worry. As long as you allow us to follow you, we will be indebted.”

”…”

Davis blinked, ”In this day and age where almost everyone is hunting me, this is a breath of fresh air. I welcome you all if you want to be my allies. However, betrayal wonʼt be forgiven. I hope you all understand that.”

”We understand. Our people are yours to command.”

”…”

Looking at the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch gesture behind, he saw six Grand Elders. Some of them were even fat, but he didnʼt think for a moment that they were weak as they were Level Two or Level Three Immortal Emperors, two humans, one immortal beast, and three feys.

The two humans were Level Three Immortal Emperors, and the other four were Level Two Immortal Emperors. However, they were strong, all probably reaching Level Four immortal Emperor Stage in prowess.

Davis nodded and cupped his hands, ”I wonʼt forget this favor.”

The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch and the others smiled brightly with their wide teeth. He talked with them for a bit more time as his brothers introduced them to him one by one. The Grand Elders from the  Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan was really a foolish bunch who didnʼt seem to know how to hide their intent, but he didnʼt dislike it.

He didnʼt underestimate them either, as hidden behind their foolish smile could be a natural aptitude to overpower or escape from almost anything, even if they were fooled. They might be easygoing but not utterly hopeless as they made it to this level.

”If the coalition starts making trouble, contact me. I wonʼt be a bystander if war ever broke out again.”

Davis enunciated, causing the three Patriarchs to smile and nod their heads.

The Emperor of Death proved himself vastly powerful, so they mused that there wouldnʼt be a war. If there is one, then it would be between their Ancestors, which would end in a single night or two even without the Emperor of Death showing up.

In fact, they would argue it would be dangerous for him to show up and that they might not contact him at all.

”Brother Fenren, I think I have something to talk to you.”

”Oh? Is this about that…?”

Patriarch Fenren Jadelightʼs eyes instantly lit up.

”Yes. Iʼm going to allow you to retain your King-Tier status upon breakthrough.”

”What!?”

The others went shocked as their jaws dropped or pupils dilated.

”What? Did you all really think I, Saint Mo Tian, would not be capable of such a feat?”

Davisʼs aura surged. His soul force seeped out of his body, taking on the appearance of a gray-white gaseous appearance as it enveloped the three groups of people, stunning them all as they felt their entire bodies feeling refreshed, even invigorated.

”Long live the Saint~”

The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch praised while cupping his hands and bowing his head.

The others were shaken too.

If anyone still had a doubt that the Emperor of Death performed a trick to appear as Saint Mo Tian back then, then they have little to no doubts now. Some of their expressions were pious, but the expressions of his sworn brothers were complicated.

Back then, Davis had just been an Immortal Stage Cultivator, so his life energy didnʼt have that much of an impact on their perception, but now, it clearly made them feel that the existence in front of them was way superior- no, a being that should be protected at all costs.

It was the emotion of coming in contact with a Saint, but because it was their sworn brother, it was much more pronounced, making them feel the need to protect him.

Still, they couldnʼt believe he had surpassed in just a month from the meeting, causing them to feel ridiculous, especially when they compared how long they had lived versus this young soul.

”Some people are destined for greatness, but Iʼm merely a flickering star that could collapse anytime. Your support at this time would mean much to me.”

Davis also cupped his hands back at them, retracting his life energy.

”Also, brother Soaren. Can I have some of your Golden Crow Blood? One of my wives needs it, but now as she is currently pregnant.”

”Ahaha! Congratulations.” Patriarch Soaren Goldsun roared.

”Iʼll be sure to send many vials of blood essence from the topmost shelves of the treasury!”

”Are you sure?” Davisʼs brows raised. He wasnʼt even asked why.

”Well, since I am in cahoots with an Anarchic Divergent, thereʼs no use taking a step back, right?”

”Ahaha! Well said!”

”Indeed, weʼre all in this together, through life and death.”

Patriarch Fenren Jadelight laughed, and the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs Patriarch also nodded. At this moment, they couldnʼt help but feel unified with laughter resounding around them. It caused Davis to feel a sense of belonging, causing him to purse his lips before he nodded.

”Iʼm indebted.”

Davis also wanted to talk with the three immortal inheritors in the Fire Phoenix Clan, but it seems like they have momentarily settled in the Aurora Cloud Gate. He knew this because he heard from Shirley, who heard it from Mistress Zahara and Mistress Yeyin.

Nonetheless, after discussing a few more things with the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, Golden Crow Clan, and the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan, Davis, and the Starlight Jade Wolf King entered a cultivation chamber.

”Brother Fenren, are you ready?”

”I am.”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King had already transformed into his immortal beast form. He stood there towering and having a graceful presence despite his wild demeanor.

Davis was floating in front of Patriarch Fenren Jadelight. He raised his hand, letting his hand hover over the latterʼs head as dense life energy surged from his palm as it descended and seeped into the pores.

Patriarch Fenren Jadelight didnʼt resist, allowing Davisʼs power to enter his head and the very source of his existence, his immortal beast core where his soul essence also dwells.

The immortal beastʼs core was the most important thing in an immortal beastʼs life. Without it, they would be as good as dead. They had their dantians pertaining to the three cultivations, but those werenʼt important or life-sustaining as the immortal beast core.

The core contained their essence, making up their bloodline and even bloodline memories. However, it was solidified, not something that would change since their birth unless their bloodline undergoes a qualitative change, which would stem from their heart, their main source of blood after birth.

Davis was a bit familiar with this as he had Nadia and Everlight to learn.

His life energy directly passed through the core, moving down the veins as it entered the Starlight Jade Wolf Kingʼs Heart.

ʼI donʼt know how to increase bloodline quality like Everlight does, but retaining it shouldnʼt be a problem as I understood the gist of it while watching her perform her species technique…ʼ

After he almost died, Davis had comprehended the Abstruse Intents of Life Laws and Death Laws, comprehending Level One Abstruse Intent in both Laws. The insights he had gathered up until then had all consolidated, allowing him to do many things, such as combine life energy and death energy with karmic attributes. Similarly, learning how to retain bloodline quality using life energy was also one of his gains.

Davis knew as long as he could keep this simple technique of his active for a while, the Starlight Jade Wolf Kingʼs bloodline would be purified and hence, have a better chance at retaining after breaking through.

”…!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King shook, already feeling the blood pumping out of his big heart, becoming increasingly cleansed of impurities. His aura also kept surging, growing stronger by the second.

”It might be too late to warn, but with this, youʼre going to incur a certain amount of karmic burden.”

”Heh, I ate that thing for lunch when I fought for you. Now Iʼm just having dinner!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King gave a mirthful reply, causing Davis to chuckle lightly before he boosted his life energy, causing the former to be fully encased in life energy as it also started to heal all types of hidden injuries.
