Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2982 Back In Action

”Stop acting broken.”

*Paah!~*

A crimson-robed man received a slap to his face as he was sent flying. His figure rushed straight behind and crashed into a palace wall, causing a small dust storm to erupt. But shortly, that figure came crawling on all fours before smashing his head onto the ground.

”This descendant is a failure. Please forgive this lowly one for failing to-”

”Enough!”

A crimson-white-robed middle-aged man bellowed, although his expression seemed indifferent. He glanced down, coldly gazing at Patriarch Killian Zenflame, who acted like he was broken while resting on an altar, but he knew better as the nirvanic rebirth almost heals all trauma incurred or gives relief, allowing them to be at least sane for a while before mental trauma grew again.

However, he narrowed his eyes, not expecting Patriarch Killian Zenflame to have survived being captured by the Emperor of Death as Lars Zenflame still hadnʼt woken up, although the other two Ancestors who saved Patriarch Killian Zenflame argued that they were forced to kill him to save him, so he didnʼt have much doubt over that.

”Grandson… you are a disgrace to my bloodline. If your father came to know about it, he would personally behead you. If your mother came to know about it, she would castrate you.”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame shook, ”Grandfa- Ancestor… I know my wrongs and would like a second chance. I didnʼt expect the Emperor of Death to be so powerful enough to survive our onslaught. Besides, the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic betrayed us...”

”I can relent on the last statement as itʼs not your fault. However, what about the onslaught? You were scared and didnʼt even go toe to toe with the Emperor of Death. I donʼt have a cowardly descendant like you.”

Ancestor Reselius glared, causing Patriarch Killian Zenflame to lower his head further as he trembled.

”Supreme Ancestor, the Emperor of Death has captured four of our Grand Elders and is demanding surrender.”

”Surrender? A little fly that has yet to grow into an Immortal Emperor wants the Fire Phoenix Clan to surrender?”

An inherent flow of rage shaped the voice as it came out of Ancestor Reselius that the others couldnʼt help but feel their throats burn, organs sear, and their flesh cooked just by being near his presence.

The other Ancestors had their heads lowered while Patriarch Killian Zenflame miserably endured. For better or worse, having been trained- no, tormented by the Emperor of Death actually helped him endure better.

The searing scarlet heat disappeared only a few seconds later, causing them to heave a heavy sigh of relief as they breathed again.

A few minutes later, they left Ancestor Reseliusʼs Palace.

The other Ancestors could see Patriarch Killian Zenflame walking out with a murderous glint in his eyes.

========

A vertical barrier was erected in the mountains near the Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs main palace. It was so robust and firm that even Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade attacks wouldnʼt be able to break it.

But at this moment, the dark, thunderous clouds above, rumbling like the drums of war, shook and started to recede.

Underneath the heavens was an eight-hundred-meter-long jade-white winged wolf whose kingly aura erupted, covering the entire Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs city. The people of this city felt their bloodline shiver, causing them to turn to look toward the direction of those mountains as they possessed pious expressions on their faces.

Many even cried, especially those who were aware of what was going on.

”Long live the King!~”

”Long live the King!!~”

”Long live the King!!!~”

Chants erupted all over the city, causing Davis to smirk as he looked at the Starlight Jade Wolf King successfully break into the Immortal Emperor Beast Stage.

The jade-white winged wolfʼs figure glowed with a bright jade light before it rapidly condensed and turned into a human. His wild features turned visible, displaying his strong chin with a defined jawline, jade-green eyes, and a sharp nose.

His green hair flailed in the wind before he abruptly disappeared.

*Bang!~*

A burst of jade light exploded right on Davis as he retreated a bit, his hands stretched out as he seemed to have blocked a punch.

”This is… too great!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King clenched his fist. Having become an Immortal Emperor Beast Stage King-Tier Starlight Jade Wolf, his confidence knew no bounds. However, turning to look at Davis, who blocked his punch while being an Immortal King, he knew better not to overestimate himself.

”Heh! Itʼs good that you like it. Otherwise, Iʼll feel like I owe you more.”

”Youʼre crazy. Whatʼs there to owe between us brothers? From now on, your enemy is my enemy. Bring them to me! Ahahaha!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King burst into a fit of boisterous laugh, causing Davis to wryly chuckle as he knew that his bloodline had overtaken his brain now.

In fact, Mira had the same reaction of feeling invincible when she turned into an Emperor-Tier Earth-Dragon.

Sometime later, after all the fanfare, ceremony, and news of the Starlight Jade Wolf King successfully entering the Immortal Emperor Beast Stage and retaining his kingly status spread to the world, Davis was about to leave.

He had just spoken to the Starlight Jade Wolf King, who just came to his accommodation but left as soon as he came because he was busy.

Davis didnʼt mind, as he was in a good mood over getting permission to enact his and Nadiaʼs marriage here. However, it would be after the Fire Phoenix Clan subdues or surrenders so as to avoid a bloody marriage. After all, they both know that if he tried marrying during war times, then he was obviously going to get attacked.

Although it would be dramatic and hilarious for him to kill their invading Grand Elders one by one, it just wouldnʼt be worth it as he wanted to give Nadia a peaceful wedding, one that deserved all the things she did for him without expecting much from him other than a few pats and affection.

*Creak!~*

But at this moment, the Starlight Jade Wolf King returned again, but this time, he was with an elegant beauty and a scholarly man.

”Emperor of Death. You said you wanted to see us?”

Davis looked at Renfa Jadelight and Davion Jadelight as he stood up from Nadiaʼs embrace, ”Yes, this is about the Candidacy and also... the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs next move.”
