Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2965 Stopping Its...

Davis and Great Ancestor Zenflame stared, each having their own thoughts to pull off the matter they sought to achieve.

”…” Their face-off caused the others to be not able to interfere.

In fact, everyone couldnʼt help but feel a thorough hint of respect for the Zenflame Familyʼs Founder. Not only was he pointing his finger toward the Emperor of Death, but he was also lecturing him like a big brother.

They felt like he had to truly pay their respects for him to be brave enough to court death.

After all, with a flick of his finger, the Emperor of Death could end any life here, which contrarily also made them respect the Emperor of Death more for moving the conversation on an equal note instead of speaking to them from a superior standpoint.

In the end, Davis aversed his gaze, turning to look toward Hirona and Sierra.

”In any case… can you two stop the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic from rampaging? I think itʼs about to destroy my palace...”

”…”

Hirona and Sierra blinked.

”Of course. Can you let it out?”

”Can you two grace me with your presence in my palace?”

”…”

The three of them blinked again. Were they still talking about the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic?

Thinking that they should be, Sierra shook her head.

”You want us to step inside your palace to stop the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic? Sorry, but weʼre-”

”Donʼt worry.” Davis remained stone-faced, ”Iʼm not like the Fire Phoenix Clan that says one thing and does another, like trapping a beauty like you.”

”Fine! Have it your way!”

Sierra clenched her teeth behind her crimson veil. A moment later, she disappeared from the scene.

ʼHe already has our lives under his grasp anyway...ʼ

Hirona shook her head, also being absorbed inside the palace, as she didnʼt resist.

The moment the two of them entered the palace hall, Davis saw the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic suddenly come to a stop as though it went stiff.

ʼAs I thought. They share an innate connection with this legacy treasure...ʼ

Davis imagined that their blood essence had a major effect on the legacy treasures. After all, they were the immortal inheritors but also Matriarchs who once ruled their Fire Phoenix Clan.

”Do you know why the powerful Ancestors are not making a move?”

Outside, Davis turned to look at brother Fenren Jadelight.

By this time, he expected the mastermind of the Fire Phoenix Clan to show up, but there was no sign of him. After all, there was no way Patriarch Killian Zenflame could mobilize his entire Fire Phoenix Clan to be shameless.

He felt like there was another hand reaching out to control many puppets.

”Just like the First and Second Ancestor of my Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and that Light Dragon Clanʼs Ancestor you saw, many wouldnʼt move their clanʼs foundation to attack someone, even if it was an Anarchic Divergent.”

Patriarch Fenren Jadelight continued, ”Not only would they have a chance to die against the Anarchic Divergentʼs unpredictability, they would also leave their power open to attacks from other powers. Therefore, these old monsters rarely venture out, and when they do, it would not be without a huge life and death cause.”

Davis nodded. He already understood this point but also felt that there was something lacking when he suddenly heard Great Ancestor Zenflame interrupt.

”Thatʼs only half right. The other reason is that there is a limitation set for the immortals who want to ascend. The Candidacy is nigh upon us, so it is an important time for the Ancestors to be able to leave the First Haven World while following their surviving inheritors within ten years or the next thousand years, but for that, they are required to be secluded within their powers for a hundred years and only respond to trouble within a hundred kilometers.”

”Indeed.” Davion Jadelight agreed, ”Otherwise, they wouldnʼt be able to participate in the World Ascension Ceremony in the Immortal Dreams Palace, which allows them to ascend.”

*Click!~*

Davis snapped his fingers, thinking this was the reason. It was on the back of his mind, unable to be processed as he was distracted by his status as an Anarchic Divergent.

There was no way those old foggies were going to uphold their image with the status he possessed. They wouldnʼt pass their chance to attack him, even if there was a chance that he could kill them somehow. After all, they didnʼt get to their level by fearing their opponents, laying low until they grew old. No, he could see that they were inflicted with numerous scars.

However, their ascension was a different story.

Whoever was late or left behind after the Candidacy is going to suffer the loserʼs wind, basically meaning that all the advantages that they compiled here in the First Haven World would end up turning useless in the true immortal world, for those secrets would be already spread far and wide.

Besides, no one knew what was going to happen after the Candidacy. Would the First Haven World still continue to exist?

This was slightly touched upon in the banquet but never took on the format of a full discussion since the matter of recruiting Shirley and Isabella along with other benefits came forward, but most were of the opinion that if the First Haven World ceases to exist, then they must obtain the few available tickets to the true immortal world, which meant that their truly powerful Ancestors had no choice but to stay within their powers, guarding the hundred-kilometer range, which was extremely short for Immortal Emperors.

Moreover, this plan of theirs was also useful for escaping from the absolute tyrant that was going to appear as the winner of the Candidacy if at all the Candidacy was meant to be like a ceremony for the ruler of this world.

With these two contrasting opinions, many powers clashed but ultimately, no one truly spoke about what they were going to do about it.

Therefore, the truly powerful Ancestors also didnʼt leave their powers disregarding the Light Dragon Clanʼs Ancestor. That was the only Ancestor Davis knew who broke that rule, but for what? All to determine if he was sane or not?

However, Davis became confused.

”Isnʼt the next World Ascension Ceremony said to be in five years? Why is it now in ten years?” This was also one of the points that didnʼt make him consider ascension as a reason for Ancestors to stay put in their powers instead of trying to slay him.
