Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2952 One-Sided Slaughter

”Ahhhhh! Save me!”

”Bastards! Donʼt be shaken! We will-”

*Rippp!~*

Blood splashed everywhere the annihilative heavenly wind blade slashed through.

Thousands of heads were decapitated, while some bodies were cut in half even after falling onto the ground. Most of them died even before their bodies hit the ground. There were also some lucky ones who had their lower body chopped off before their bodies fell down, leaving them with their upper body flying off as well.

They wanted to survive so much this one-sided massacre, unable to believe that a Mid Stage Immortal King was slaughtering them through the battle formations. If they didnʼt see it the first time, nor the second, the third, or fourth, with the Fire Phoenix Clan Ancestorʼs warning, they were able to know that it was something farfetched as the heavenly wind that seamlessly put a hole through their battle formations and reaped the lives of their Great Generals and Generals.

With the battle formation down and escape talismans not working, their fear knew no bounds as they felt like they were stuck in an underworld grinder, waiting to be ground to bloody dust. Wherever they went, blood flew like rain, making them think they were going to be next.

The terror only grew when they saw the heads etched with fear drop all over the ground and explode into a meat paste from the sheer fall and durable ground.

Davis looked at this scene with a calm expression, but his gaze flickered.

He knew what he was doing was extremely horrifying and cruel.

After all, in the end, even those who survived his wind blades werenʼt much of a threat at all, not to mention they were just soldiers. They were simply too weak to withstand his terrifying power, yet they dared to hunt him down, all because they thought he was weak.

Although there was the aspect of karmic burden, Davis refused to believe that was their only concern. If that was the case, why didnʼt they bother to engage in dialogue where he could make amends for them?

Surely, they shouldʼve known that he wasnʼt a person who didnʼt show gratitude if they learned about his past. After all, they kept trying to exploit his weaknesses, targeting his family and allies again and again.

Even now, he could feel the grief in the city before he came here. Although both sides had losses, the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan was the one being invaded here, all because of… him!

Thinking all of this, even the slightest hint of sympathy in Davisʼs eyes vanished.

”Do you fools think scattering is going to help?”

His voice thundered as black-crimson lightning roared out of his body, arcing through the entire city as they branched one after another like they were thorns on a rapidly growing tree.

*RUMBLE!~*

Wherever his annihilative heavenly lightning shot through, bodies went stiff before they exploded into a bloody mist.

This thundering attack instantly destroyed ninety percent of the Immortal Kings present in the scene, but it also gave away his location.

”Die!”

The Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Ancestor appeared before him a few kilometers away, extraordinary undulations blazing from his body as his thick wings spread and slashed against him, releasing a boundless wave of nirvanic flames.

*Sssssz!~*

Flames soared in two diagonal angles, enveloping Davis in a hellish burn fueled with rage.

The nirvanic flames burned him alive, causing the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Ancestor to grin.

That was it. He had done it! He had slain the Anarchic Divergent!

He couldnʼt help but feel delighted, knowing that his name would be praised for the centuries to come.

Just as he wondered how his name was going to be etched in the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Monuments and even in other powers who had a problem with the Emperor of Death, a scarlet-burning figure rushed out of the sea of flames with an incredible speed.

”…!”

He had just reacted with a flinch, striking with his hand swiftly. However, he came to a stop mid-way, unable to believe why he would lose focus at the last second.

*Chsss!~*

Blood streamed out of this Ancestorʼs neck as his head was decapitated.

”Daydreaming is bad for health~”

Davis waved his sleeves and dispersed the nirvanic flames burning him. The layer of iridescent energy coating his body didnʼt seem to let the nirvanic flames injure him as though it was fire retardant coating.

Nonetheless, with the help of Misdirection and his Immortal Emperor Grade Scythe, Davis couldnʼt help but stop himself from smirking as he got his first Immortal Emperor Kill. He raised his hand in a relaxed manner and looked at the deadly black curved blade of his scythe gleaming with death energy by itself.

The rod and the back of the blade were just the opposite, thrumming with life as they carried a pale jade-white sheen.

ʼA scythe made from death-attributed ore and life-attributed ore… Sophie surpasses herself yet again...ʼ

An intense feeling of pride filled Davisʼs heart, ”Isnʼt that right, Yama?”

”Master, I have never felt stronger and emboldened than now… this is unlike obtaining a new body… it is as though I feel reborn as an armament spirit!”

Hearing Yamaʼs voice, Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

As for where Sophie obtained these ores, it was obviously from the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace. Moreover, forging this scythe badly injured Sophie, and despite all the deathly poison seeping into her hands from the impurity when refining them, she held ground for many days and finally forged a masterpiece for her level.

She was just a Mid Stage Immortal King like him, but with Lerezaʼs help and her own proficiency, she managed to bring the unthinkable, forging a life-and-death scythe for him. Although it wasnʼt a full-fledged reincarnation-attributed scythe, he was almost brought to tears by her hard work and the injuries she suffered for it that he spent half a day healing her back to health and partaking in her intimacy, which also helped him boost his own cultivation.

Nonetheless, unlike that Ancestor he influenced with Misdirection, he didnʼt drop his guard even while reminiscing, looking around and seeing that his senses didnʼt lie as Patriarch Killian Zenflame remained in his place, appearing dumbfounded.

His eyes then glanced at the beheaded Ancestor, who turned into a giant phoenix.

ʼHeʼs not reviving…?ʼ Davis wondered as he had not cut off his head using reincarnation energy but death energy.

It shouldnʼt affect the Phoenixʼs ability to revive.

ʼWell, heʼs probably millions, if not, hundreds and thousands of years old, so he might have already died once in his lifetime… Itʼs no wonder he chose to remain here as an Ancestor...ʼ

Davis shook his head as he saw his phoenix body plunge to the ground. However, he greedily absorbed the soul essence from that body, taking it for himself. Moreover, it was not just the Immortal Emperor Beastʼs Soul. He had every life he reaped here helplessly give up their soul essences to him.

Thousands of soul essences swarmed over to him slowly, as he didnʼt want to make a big swirl in the atmosphere. However, it was still noticed by many Ancestors. Nevertheless, they were too dumbfounded to say anything of concern about it, reeling at the fact that the Emperor of Death had just taken down a Level Four Immortal Emperor like it was nothing.

Considering that it was a Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Ancestor who died, his prowess might very well be one or two levels above, so for the Emperor of Death to kill him in one move, had his prowess surpassed Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage!?

But how!?

The other party was just a mere Mid-Stage Immortal King, accurately a Level Six Immortal King whom they wouldnʼt even deign to look even if they were attacking them right by their side!

Davisʼs lips that were curled receded, his expression turning cold as he returned his gaze.

”First comes the Ancestors, and lastly, you, Killian. Letʼs have some fun, shall we?”

”Hmph!”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame coldly harrumphed, ”If you think you can defeat me, youʼre dead wrong.”

As he spoke, he took out a scarlet orb the size of a fist.

It appeared to be a small, pearl-like orb encased in a delicate, golden reliquary. This scarlet orb emitted a serene, soft glow, and within it, one can see faint swirling patterns resembling yin and yang, symbolizing the cycle of life and death, akin to the nirvanic flames of the Phoenix.

”I dare you to come near me and have a taste of my Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Legacy Treasure, Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic.”

”…”

Davis glared at Patriarch Killian Zenflame with pity.

This retard was so scared that he took out his trump card to not let him come near him.

Nonetheless, he didnʼt drop his guard.

Of course, Davis knew that Killian Zenflame, as the Patriarch, should have life-saving items with him, but he didnʼt quite expect him to have a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Artifact with him, and going by its sound, he imagined that it was a sealing artifact.

With that, he knew not to get closer, but with this space sealed, wasnʼt he the one trapped with them?

Yet, why wasnʼt the Fire Phoenix Patriarch chasing after him? Was it because he was completely terrified, as he guessed?

*Boooom!~* *Boooom!~* *Boooom!~*

Abruptly, tens of attacks began to fall on the sealing formation he constructed, causing him to narrow his eyes and turn to look at the numerous Ancestors from other powers trying to get to him.
