Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2972 Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs Spirit

Davis appeared before a scarlet pearl that seemed to be unmoving, but it occasionally released a ray of light, a sign that Patriarch Killian Zenflame seemed to be still trying to overpower his way out.

ʼHas he lost his mind? The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic is a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Artifact. To break it open is impossible even for me. On the other hand, to have it use up all its energy would take even more time...ʼ

Davis felt that Patriarch Killian Zenflame at least needed to maintain these attacks at the same rate for a week or two to completely expend its energy, at least allowing him to be expelled from it. However, would the freed artifact spirit allow it? Not to mention the air inside was devoid of heaven and earth energy, only allowing for one to maintain sustenance by using pills.

Therefore, Patriarch Killian Zenflame would run out of energy even before he came face to face with him.

That said, Davis didnʼt know what to do either.

Going inside would mean that the connection with the messaging talisman could be severed, not to mention he could also get trapped if the artifact spirit didnʼt let him out. On the other hand, if he went inside with his soul body, then he might not be able to properly torment Patriarch Killian Zenflame as the other party might still have something up his sleeves.

On the other hand, if he brought out Patriarch Killian Zenflame, he might start destroying the inner palace, which he didnʼt want to see as he failed to see the need to sacrifice it anymore.

ʼHowever, if I could bring the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relicʼs Artifact Spirit under control...ʼ

Davis thought.

He touched the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic with his bare hand, relaying his intent through Enigmatic Heart Laws. His intent to converse peacefully seeped through his palms and encased the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic.

Soon enough, there was a response as the artifact spirit manifested before him.

It seemed to be a female spirit, clad in a white-crimson robe and sporting stylish crimson hair adorned with phoenix ornaments. Her curvy, phoenix eyes were also good to look at, but those eyes were further squinted.

”What do you want?”

She seemed wary at the very least, causing Davis to smirk.

”Are you no longer under his control?”

The artifact spirit shook her head.

”Thatʼs good.” Davis nodded, ”I sensed that you hadnʼt taken any movements back then to save him, so Iʼll spare your life. From now on, your master is Shirley. Do you understand?”

”What? You have no right to command me.”

The artifact spiritʼs tone was angered.

”I am Shirley Davis, the fourth inheritor of the Fire Phoenix Clan.”

Suddenly, a firm voice resounded from the messaging talisman, ”Whether you choose to believe me or not is none of my concern, but if you donʼt heed my words now, then you will be erased along with the other higher-ups of the Fire Phoenix Clan.”

”I have heard about you. Master Hirona and Master Sierra also said to listen to you and that youʼre this personʼs wife, so Iʼll obey...”

”Good.” Shirleyʼs voice resounded, ”Obey my husband.”

”Yes…”

Davisʼs gaze flickered as he saw the artifact spirit reluctantly answer.

It went that easy…?

ʼWell, itʼs better if I donʼt need to use my or Fallen Heavenʼs death energy...ʼ

Davis thought before opening his mouth.

”I believe youʼre able to send Patriarch Killian Zenflame out?”

”Yes, I can. Patriarch Killian Zenflame is in the master platform. Originally, he could come out by himself, but since he hadnʼt gained full control of the artifact, he couldnʼt do so. I can send you to the master platform and send you out without a problem.”

”Perfect. I assume messaging talismans also work in the master platform?”

”Yes, that place isnʼt sealed and isnʼt devoid of heaven and earth energy.”

”Oh…”

Davis nodded. It was no wonder that bastard kept whipping out attack after attack. It turns out that he absorbed energy from the atmosphere without a problem. If thatʼs the case, then he figured that bastard was baiting him into entering the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic, probably having something up his sleeves to corner him in the master platform.

If not…

ʼThen sheʼs baiting me into the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic...ʼ

Davis stared at the beautiful artifact spirit.

The Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic was a regal, magnificent, and passive artifact that wasnʼt aggressive at all. He wanted to believe that its spirit would be the same, that she wouldnʼt be playing tricks, but when he saw the actions of the Fire Phoenix Clan so far, he couldnʼt fully bring himself to believe her.

Nonetheless, this artifact spirit was sealed, which meant it probably disobeyed Patriarch Killian Zenflame or that Ancestor Reselius, not to mention the people who created this artifact spirit, should be either Hirona or Sierra. They were both good acquaintances of Shirley, so he pursed his lips, thinking for two or three seconds before nodding his head.

”Send me inside.”

Davis no longer resisted.

*Whoosh!~*

He abruptly appeared inside the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic, causing the person inside to become alarmed as they instantly gained distance.

”Itʼs you!”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame roared as though he couldnʼt believe it, his expression flaring with rage but suddenly displaying a wide smile.

”Donʼt tell me this is your main body?”

”Yes.”

”Fool. You can no longer escape from here!”

Davis hadnʼt even finished saying before Patriarch Killian Zenflame grinned, his energy abruptly soaring as he conjoined his hands, interlocking his fingers. His expression turned crazed as he laughed.

”Ahaha! With this, youʼre back in the chamber of cessation!”

*Whoosh!~*

Davis abruptly disappeared from Patriarch Killian Zenflameʼs view, causing him to joyfully look at the chamber of cessation where he had previously trapped Davis.

*Paah!~*

However, a resounding slap sent him flying as he spun in mid-air, spraying blood from his mouth before he fell to the ground.

”You-!”

He quickly sat up, looking at Davis still remaining here in the master chamber. He couldnʼt help but glance to look at the chamber of cessation and saw that he really wasnʼt there, even after he bit himself and circulated his energy into breaking the state he was in, which most likely meant that this wasnʼt an illusion cast on him.

”I forgot to say, but the artifact spirit has been freed, and you are no longer in control of the Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic.”

Davis spoke in an unamused tone, but that caused Patriarch Killian Zenflameʼs expression to sink.

”What!? How can it- it… itʼs those two inheritor bitches who betrayed the clan, isnʼt it!?”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame roared. He saw Hirona and Sierra being captured by the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, but it turned out that it was all a lie to capture him.

”Traitors! Not only did they not leave and put the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs future in jeopardy, but they also chose to surrender to our enemies. Those two bitches need to be violated for their crimes!”

Davis narrowed his brows, ”I thought you were more calculative, but it seems like youʼre losing your mind. Being trapped here has its toll, huh?”

”Losing my mind?” Patriarch Killian Zenflame harrumphed, ”What do you know about the great history of my Fire Phoenix Clan? They mightʼve started it, but it is us, my grandfather, who allowed the Fire Phoenix Clan to become the strongest amongst the Phoenix Clans. Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic, seal him inside the chamber of cessation if you truly belong to the Fire Phoenix Clan. Otherwise, youʼre a damned traitor whose name would be tarnished for centuries to come.”

”…”

A few moments later, Davis couldnʼt help but smile.

The artifact spirit didnʼt seem to be agreeable to Patriarch Killian Zenflameʼs words.

”Nine-Phoenix Locking Relic! As the Patriarch, I command you to seal him!”

Trembling ever so lightly, Patriarch Zenflame roared again.

This time, the artifact spirit finally appeared between them, glancing at Davis before she turned to look at Patriarch Killian Zenflame.
