Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2744 A Truce?

”Audacious!”

Emperor-Tier earth Dragon aura exploded out from Isabella. It wasnʼt any weaker than what Yotan released despite her being at the Immortal King Soul Stage while Isabella was at Level Nine Immortal Soul Stage.

Shirleyʼs aura also surged, clashing with Yotanʼs resplendent aura.

Together, they began to suppress Yotan, causing the latter to clench her teeth as she tried to push forward, wanting to head into the mansion to know for herself.

”Davisʼs children are playing in the inner courtyard. You dare unleash your power here?”

”No, I-”

*Aooo!~*

Isabella raised her voice as a faint dragon cry stemmed from her soul, causing Yotan to shudder heavily.

For a moment, she felt like she had been locked down by a predator, causing her to go stiff, but that moment was precisely enough for both of them to appear before her and grab her shoulders as they placed their palm, their lips moving faintly.

”...!”

Yotan became stunned. It was unknown what they said, but she still looked like she had lost something, her expression appearing rather bleak.

”You can go check if you want.”

”His body is right inside, placed in the master quarters.”

Isabella and Shirley enunciated before they no longer cared about her but went back inside.

As inheritors who received the inheritance masterʼs soul, their souls increased extremely fast. By now, they were at a level where they could battle Early Immortal Kings easily.

Yotan watched them leave with a bit of incredulity before she heard a voice resound beside her.

”Big sister, whatʼs going on? Is it true...?”

Stella Voidfieldʼs voice was full of worry, causing Yotan to look down. Although she said she wanted to go inside, she looked as though she didnʼt dare to head inside at this moment, making tears flood Stella Voidfieldʼs eyes as she got a bad feeling about this.

After some time, Yotan did really head inside. However, Stella Voidfield didnʼt dare to follow her inside, shivering outside like a drenched cat.

But a few minutes later, Yotan walked outside, looking like she was at a complete loss.

Despite Stella Voidfield trying to stop and ask her, she just flew away as though ignoring her, causing Stella Voidfield to stop.

”Big brother...”

She turned around as a few droplets of tears fell from her eyes, rushing towards the mansion. She quickly appeared inside and made her way to his quarters, where she had regularly hidden in order to ambush him, expecting that he would come out of seclusion to rest here, but he never did.

As soon as she crossed the hallway and made her way along the narrow path before entering his quarters that already had its door open but had its space sealed from disallowing senses to enter, she saw his Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace, making her way inside upon crashing into it.

”...!”

As soon as she appeared inside, she was stunned to see Davisʼs unmoving body. However, that wasnʼt what stunned her. Instead, right beside that dead body, there was a purple-robed man looking the exact same. However, he had a baby on his arm as he pinched its cute face with his fingers ever so lightly.

The man seemed to whisper something like ʼwhoʼs the cutie pie?ʼ and whatnot to the blonde-haired baby, his voice completely soft and soothing.

On the other hand, the baby didnʼt open its eyes, simply deflecting Davisʼs hand from disturbing its sleep.

Beside them, Sophie appeared to be entranced by this scene as a dreamy and heartened look stayed on her face as though it was etched.

”Oh, itʼs you.” Davis finally noticed Stella Voidfield as he raised his head, smiling lightly at her, ”Donʼt worry, as you can see, Iʼm alive...”

He then returned back to cajoling the baby as though the current situation was nobodyʼs business.

”...” Stella Voidfield was thoroughly stunned by this scene.

If Davis was alive, then who the hell was this dead body? An avatar? But even if an avatar died, the life jade shouldnʼt break!

A few moments later, she shook her head as she came out of her reverie.

”Who are you? Mother told me that your life tablet broke. Thereʼs no way you could be alive...”

Davisʼs brows narrowed on hearing Stella Voidfieldʼs words.

He gently gave the small baby back to Sophie, making sure that it was delivered safely before he turned to look at Stella Voidfield.

”What do you want to believe?”

”I...” Stella was again stumped. What kind of question was this? She obviously wanted him to be alive, but how many humans could stay alive after their life jade has been broken? Very rarely does it happen, and all cases of it were either malfunctioning or descending into a plane that has intentionally cut off contact with the outside world.

However, Davis was still here, looking alive and well, yet there was a dead body right beside him that didnʼt seem to be an avatar as she could feel his genuine life essence from it!

”I... then tell me youʼre alive.”

”I am alive.” Davis nodded, pointing at the corpse on the altar, ”This is, of course, also me.”

”...”

Davis saw her expression change, but before she could cry out, he added, ”I did indeed meet with cultivation deviation, and my body exploded as a result, and I almost died as my soul faded into darkness, but fortunately, I was able to save my salvage my soul, but it caused a dissonance, creating two copies of my body in the process.”

”...”

Stella couldnʼt help but blink at this explanation. However, thinking about it, she thought it made sense, but still, she pursed her lips and flew around him, confirming that his aura was really as she had sensed.

”You are indeed... Davis...”

She felt like she couldnʼt misrecognize his aura, especially not after receiving his life energy to nurture her main body.

Davis let Stella do as she pleased as he stayed silent. Just a while ago, Yotan had also visited and displayed the same reaction as Stella did, but it was unexpected to him that she would go far as to offend his powerful wives like Isabella and Shirley, causing him to be utterly impressed but at the same time, he saw that her emotions were beyond loyalty.

Although it wasnʼt anything new, he couldnʼt help but feel slightly guilty over brushing those feelings. Nonetheless, that only stayed on his mind for a few moments before he couldnʼt help but become unamused over Stella, who started pulling on his cheeks to check if it was really him.

”Alright, thatʼs enough.” He brushed her hands off him and patted her shoulder.

”Be a good tree and not divulge this information to others, okay?”

Stella Voidfield silently nodded, her expression appearing contemplative as she turned to look at the corpse, starting to wonder how two main bodies could exist at the same time. Using her senses, she indeed saw that the soul sea and other dantians were broken in that corpse.

Davis lightly smiled after seeing her actions.

In truth, he managed to regenerate the body he lost back in the cultivation chamber because Everlight, Ellia, and he, all three of them, used their life energy to regenerate his body, which was practically blown to bits and pieces.

They were able to make quick work of it but were unable to restore the soul sea for some reason.

He actually thought he could take advantage of this awkward position to truly have an avatar, but contrary to his expectations, that didnʼt work at all. Instead, not only could he not restore the soul sea, but he also could not regenerate his dantians, wondering how that was not possible.

For soul sea, it made sense as it was the soulʼs vessel, but he couldnʼt even regenerate the dantian?

That didnʼt make sense at all, making him think this had to do with restriction cast by the heavens. After all, he had heavenly attributes to his dantian, but that included chaos as well?

He imagined that if he were to use Fallen Heaven to create a double, he low-key knew that he would be inflicted with double the karmic burden, so he abandoned that thought and decided to use the corpse as a showcase to confuse his enemies.

However, his expression became solemn as he thought about another thing that was relayed to him after Isabella informed him about the four days left for the banquet; that is... the fact that Myria was a Divergent who brought the Calamity Light was finally made public somehow, creating a massive uproar in the eastern and southern regions of the First Haven World!

Davis didnʼt know whose work it was, but it had been actively propagated by the Godwin Family, causing countless powers to gather to their aid, which made them gain an advantage in the battlefront and ultimately survive the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs onslaught!

However, it has been said that twenty Immortal Emperors from the Godwin Family were dead.

From Isabellaʼs words, he came to know that the two sides came to a temporary peace and talks were going on, yet he didnʼt know what the talks were for when they were actually targeting Saintess Lunariaʼs disciple, causing him to not understand this strange stalemate.

ʼUnless...ʼ

Davis thought of something but was even more taken aback by the possibility that this could be an insider job. After all, the reason why she was exposed as a Divergent came from the small rumor that Bing Luli, the woman who was killed in the Treasury, was still alive.

”Ahh...”

Suddenly, he was hit on the face by a small fist, causing him to react exaggeratedly but lean forward to take more hits as his cute little blonde-haired baby came closer, with Sophie practically pushing the baby toward his face.

He slightly chuckled at Sophie, seeing how she was melting over wanting to look at the two of them together. There was no way this kind of happiness could be faked, causing him to kiss her lips gently before looking at the baby together as they held it in their arms.

”Sophie, did you decide on a name...?” Davis asked, causing Sophieʼs smile to become wider as she glanced down to look at the baby.

”Iʼve decided... you will be Aurelia Davis, our familyʼs sweet little third daughter.”
