Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2738 Lauded

”...”

There was a moment of awkwardness, but what could Davis say, considering the only ones here were his family? He was fine with everyone viewing him naked.

Momentarily, he could see Lereza fume while Schleya didnʼt even take her eyes off of him, watching him like a hawk that made him feel quite flattered, but still, he dressed up in an instant and continued to walk towards them.

”What the fuck... just happened?”

”Language.” Davis flicked his sleeves at Mingzhi, whose voice shuddered, ”What could happen other than me pulling off a life heist and returning it back without alerting anyone? Oh... I guess almost everyone was alerted, but still...”

”Bastard...” Tears flooded Mingzhiʼs eyes, ”I donʼt know what you did, but donʼt do that again! I only have you in this life...”

”Alright, alright...”

Davis appeared before him and embraced her, patting her back as he consoled her. He looked around and saw that it was just her. For a moment, he wondered how despondent they felt when they lost him and couldnʼt help but feel heartened.

Evelynn gazed at him with red eyes, but she turned around and walked toward Everlight, causing everyone to turn to look at her.

”...!” Their eyes quickly went wide as they saw her kneel towards Everlight.

”I owe you my life.”

Evelynn spoke as she knelt, bowing her head all the way as though going to kowtow.

”Ah, Mistress~! Please donʼt!”

However, Everlight came out of her reverie and quickly stopped Evelynn from kowtowing. The other party was also pregnant with Davisʼs child, and although her stomach didnʼt even start swelling, she still had immense respect for the first wife.

But following Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirley also flashed and appeared before Everlight as they knelt towards her, their emotions laid bare as they thanked her by clasping their hands.

Before, if having Everlight could be said to be beneficial for them, now they finally accepted her to be one of them. Not only did she not revive Davis while enduring his karmic burden, which practically sealed her fate, but she also didnʼt use her charm technique to control him.

They werenʼt stupid and could read along the lines, knowing that Everlight had truly sacrificed her potential to save him when she couldʼve just stopped the revival while feeling the karmic burden about to descend on her, but she didnʼt, causing them to have immense respect for her character.

”Thank you, Saintess Everlight~”

”Without you, we wouldnʼt know what we have done, Saintess.”

”Saintess... huh... but Iʼm grateful to you for saving master... Everlight.”

”...” Davis just stood there watching them as the others also went and thanked her profusely while even the bold and daring Nadia was shy and embarrassed yet immensely grateful as she put down her imperial rivalry aside to thank her.

In return, Everlight displayed all kinds of different emotions ranging from happiness to being overwhelmed as her eight tails shook sometimes and went stiff at others as they asked her numerous questions, including if she wanted to sleep with their husband tonight for this achievement.

He remembered having told his women not to kneel to anyone other than their father and mother, but for some reason, he didnʼt feel taken aback by this move of theirs that lauded Everlightʼs behavior and placed her on a pedestal for her efforts.

This made him understand that he had already accepted Everlight as his family but when? Just a while ago or before that?

He was very curious about the changes that he underwent in his mind as, for some reason, the possibility of being charmed still relayed around his mind.

Nonetheless, he believed that a loyal wolf- no, a loyal fox like Everlight simply wouldnʼt stoop that low. If anything, she wished to be with him for all her life and chose to stay here of her own will, not even exiting this place to go shopping with them all because she knew the importance of her existence and the chaos it would create.

Knowing all this, he truly felt like bedding her right now but felt that wouldnʼt be appropriate and would be instead lowly of him. Right now, Everlightʼs place in their hearts had improved beyond the normality and truly attained the status of a Saintess among them for reviving him, not that he regretted not having taken her before but wanted to make it up to her for her sacrificial efforts.

Nevertheless, while they were all engaging with Everlight and ignored him for some reason, perhaps because they were angry with him for giving them a full-blown scare that almost became a reality if it werenʼt for Everlight, he lowered his head and began sensing the changes his body underwent.

After all, he had just revived, so he was back to his previous state, the state where he renewed in Everlightʼs azure orb right before leaving to meet Deathseeker as he was prepared to die. However, never did he expect at that time for this to come in handy for death by cultivation deviation, but still, he saw that his cultivation was still at Level Seven Immortal Stage while his Level Nine Immortal Soul Stage cultivation had dropped to Level Eight Immortal Soul Stage.

ʼWell, it canʼt be helped, considering this was the state I was in when visiting Everlight...ʼ

Although he lost a level, it didnʼt matter to him. Instead, he was shocked that Everlight was even able to revive his unique body along with his heavenly powers back to his formal state without missing something in place.

His heavenly lightning, his heavenly flames, his heavenly wind, and chaotic energy were brimming in his body, causing him to believe that her species, the Nine Lives Gracious Fox was truly mesmerizing and heavenly.

However, there was something entirely different to his soul, and that was...

”By the way...” Ellia, who came back, looked at him with a hint of worry and curiosity, ”The heaven and earth phenomenon descended. If Iʼm right, did you just comprehend Death Laws and Life Laws?”

”Mhm, Iʼve had significant breakthroughs in Death Laws, Life Laws, and Reincarnation Laws.”

Davis couldnʼt help but reveal a sly smile, ”Iʼve read about people reincarnating to comprehend the essence of Reincarnation, but actually dying is wonderful too. That moment of coming back from the otherworld was all I needed, making me comprehend Abstruse Intents for Death Laws and Life Laws without even entering the Immortal King Stage for some reason...”

”...” For a moment, Ellia didnʼt know what to say before she blurted out, ”Say what...?!”
