Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2728 Wanting To Kill?

Claraʼs gaze fell on Davis and the others, causing Myria to narrow her eyes.

A bad feeling emerged in her heart, sensing the hostile intent emanating from Clara toward her.

Clara took a step into the air and flew towards them. Her figure slowly flew towards them, and her eyes still seemed calm, but she seemed to be in a bind as Davis could see her fingers twitching.

He finally narrowed his eyes, standing up on the branch, causing Clara to stop in mid-air and float there for a moment. Her gaze flickered at Davis, her eyes shining with a different gleam than what she had looked at before.

However, she closed her eyes, seemingly focusing her mind as her face scrunched up behind her translucent veil.

”Clara?” Davis tried calling out with a gentle tone, causing Clara to quiver.

”Certainly... the need to kill Myria is real... but itʼs not uncontrollable...”

Davisʼs heart sank. So it was indeed true that the heavens held influence over her senses, or rather, he wondered if he should say that it allowed its warriors to sense Divergents and have their auras flagged as cancer to the world, causing the heavenʼs warriors to hate Divergents and be unable to tolerate them.

”What about him?” On the other hand, Myria simply gestured at Davis with a knock on her head.

Clara still had her eyes closed, her brows twitching, ”I still donʼt feel anything untoward towards brother. Thank goodness...”

There was an immense amount of relief in her voice.

”...” However. Davis and Myria looked at each other, their gaze sharing information as they came to the same conclusion.

Since they were both Anarchic Divergents, the fact that Clara couldnʼt sense a dislike towards him meant that there could be only one reason.

”Fallen Heaven, make yourself scarce, please.”

”Interesting...”

Davis instructed inwardly, causing Fallen Heaven to utter a slight chuckle. It had made itself disappear before the immortal tribulation but came back as soon as it left, almost as though it was extremely self-aware.

Still, it seemed to be greatly interested in Claraʼs condition and influence as it hid itself as Davis requested.

”How is it now?

”...!” Clara became shocked, her eyes shooting wide open at Davis.

”How...? Brotherʼs Death Laws is even capable of hiding the fact that youʼre an Anarchic Divergent?”

”You can say that.”

Davis lightly smiled, walking towards her in a bold manner before he reached out his hands.

However, Clara quickly stumbled back several steps, causing Davisʼs expression to turn somewhat forlorn.

”Brother...”

Clara bit her lips, her voice sounding guilty. She never expected to back up when he came to pat her head, even with his Divergent aura having disappeared. Was this dislikeable aura etched into her heart, warning her instincts as heavenʼs warrior?

However, she saw him smile lightly.

”Well, the fact that you can control yourself and not attack Myria is pretty amazing.”

”I think it has to do with the fact that Iʼm an Immortal King.”

Davis praised Clara, but Myria shook her head, ”Her instincts pretty much warned her that she would die if she attacked me, so she was able to hold back.”

”That is... not certain.” Davisʼs expression twitched. However, Clara took a breath and opened her mouth.

”Myria is... right.” She admitted, closing her eyes as she shook her head, trying to refocus, ”If I stay here any longer, Iʼm afraid Iʼll harm Shirley, Nadia, and Ellia, who emanate a similar aura as you two.”

Davisʼs brows narrowed. Did she want to leave?

”Well, youʼre not stronger than any of them at the moment, so you can remain carefree and aloof as you were, my sweet little sister.”

This time, he forcefully reached out his hand and patted Clara. Unexpectedly, Clara also forced herself to receive his pat, appearing to smile a bit as she gained a bit of confidence in her ability to maintain authority over her will.

”Brother... I would never harm you.”

She spoke with confidence and softness, causing Davis to smile deeply.

”I know.” He nodded, ”Alright, go back and cultivate to get stronger so that you can protect our family from harm in the future. If you are worried, then Schleya will keep an eye on you and stop you when it is required.”

”Mhm~ Clara nodded, seemingly deep in thought as she held her chin.

After a few moments, she opened her mouth, ”Although itʼs not like I donʼt have the confidence to maintain sovereignty over my will, I think I need a person to monitor me for the time being. It is indeed safer that way.”

”Very well.”

Davis smiled at her, patting her shoulder before sending her along with Schleya after sending the latter a few soul transmissions.

”Your little sister is unexpectedly mature.”

After they left, Myria commented, her eyes appearing to have renewed respect.

”What did you think?” Davis revealed a proud look, ”Sheʼs my little sister and also the Empress of the Loret Empire for a period of time. She probably has more experience than me in running a family, so she knows what causes strife and what causes unity. Moreover-”

”Thatʼs why I said that it is unexpected that sheʼs your sister.”

”...” Davis pursed his lips at Myria, not having expected to be humorous at this moment.

”Then, where are you going?” He changed the topic.

Myria looked at the skies, her gaze blinking once as she viewed the dark clouds completely disappear, ”Perhaps, some missions. Perhaps, some-”

”Revenge?” Davis completed her sentence, causing her to turn to look at him, but Davis shook his head.

”The Godwin Family is not easy to kill, so thatʼs why the elders are moving and not the disciples.”

”No, that mission is unexpectedly open to Immortal King True Disciples, meaning if I manage to kill at least one elder of the Godwin Family, I can probably make a few billion contribution points that will ultimately-”

”You think those elders will let you leave during this time after learning that youʼre an existence who couldnʼt be traded for another Immortal King True Disciple, much less let you take part in a mission against the Godwin Family that wants to tear you apart?”

Davis scoffed and continued, ”Mark my words. Youʼll be turned away when you approach the Mission Distribution Palace.”

”So what are you telling me to do?” Myria narrowed her brows.

It couldnʼt be he was saying for her to stay inside like a turtle, waiting for everyone to protect her, no?

”How about regaining back your peak first and thinking about slaughter later? From my perception, your Immortal Vessel is still around the Early to Mid Immortal Stage, so increase it first and reach the Immortal King Stage in essence and body cultivation. Otherwise, your soul wouldnʼt return to its peak easier.”

”Peak...” Myria clenched her teeth lightly, appearing to smile, ”Thatʼs a ridiculous word. Whenever you reach the so-called peak, youʼll be faced with another mountainous problem that you canʼt solve unless you become stronger.”

”But-”

Davis had just opened his mouth to reply when his brows suddenly narrowed, his senses entering his spatial ring and finding a glowing object.

ʼThis is... the Ghost Tear Hallʼs status plate...ʼ

He was getting summons from it?

”See? Told you...” Myria didnʼt even see or hear what he had in mind, smirking at him before leaving him standing like a statue.
