Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2734 Trying To Choose

”Lereza, is Mingzhi having fun?”

Inside an enclosed space, Davisʼs voice resounded as he asked Lereza.

”...”

Lereza manifested in front of him, but there was no response, causing Davis to chuckle as he sat cross-legged on a cushion.

”Seems like she is having fun.”

”...” Indeed, Lereza didnʼt know what to say as her eyes kept twitching.

She thought Mingzhi was jovial as she understood Enigmatic Heart Laws. She was angry for Mingzhi as she had been falsely accused as the one who poisoned the feast when she herself had been keeping watch but failed to find the culprit, thinking Mingzhi had suffered and deserved to pay some interest back, but still, contrary to her expectations, she saw for the first time what kind of demoness Mingzhi was as her mad laughter resounded louder than Rai Zenflameʼs screams throughout the chamber torture, making her pretty dumbfounded.

It was as though her real face was out on display, causing her to feel the shivers.

”Itʼs like that.” Davis saw through what was going on in Lerezaʼs mind and asked with a curious smile, ”Every one of us has a wicked person in us, so I wonder whatʼs yours?”

”Me...?” Lereza blinked while pointing at herself, seemingly thinking but couldnʼt remember anything other than a memory that she treasured.

”I donʼt have anything wicked in my heart because I was saved.” She raised her head and brightly answered, causing Davis to smile wryly.

”I see, but I was the one who made Mingzhi... suffer... by making her an orphan. She mustʼve bottled up a lot since she was young, especially when she had fallen in love with me due to my careless actions, so I understand and accept all of her even if the time comes when she truly decides to poison me one day.”

Davis could only wonder how complicated it must be to be in that kind of mental state for a woman, making one crazy and, perhaps, mad.

”No... itʼs not like that... no? She is not such a person...”

Seeing Lereza make a worried expression and console him, Davis blinked before he gently sighed.

”Thank you, Lereza. Your presence was highly soothing back there in front of Deathseeker. Without you, I wouldnʼt have dared step outside to meet him.”

”What...? Arenʼt you nice for a bully?”

Lerezaʼs semi-transparent pink veil became slightly red as she turned to look away, her lips pouting as she spoke silently, ”Youʼre the one who said that we should make an effort in order to trust each other.”

”Say what?”

”Nothing~”

Lereza giggled and disappeared, leaving Davis smiling lightly as he shook his head. He closed his eyes, focusing on becoming serene and feeling every minute change that his body had undergone ever since becoming an immortal cultivator to become better familiar with it.

After all, while cultivating, no cultivator could say that they know their bodies the best as countless changes go unnoticed after increasing their cultivation, having them sometimes becomes sick and other times weaker from cultivation deviation if circulation is not done properly.

Davis first checked if there was anything wrong with his cultivation by simply pouring life energy into every part of his body and brushing over his cells, hoping to find some hidden injuries.

And indeed, he did find a few of them hidden within his cells and bones, but with a full course in healing, he got rid of them eventually, making him feel even more rejuvenated and pure even though he had done a lot of dirty things.

This kind of sensation was simply fantastic, making him feel as though he was a heavenly being in the purest sense.

Moreover, there was no one in this world who could imitate his actions because he was using Fallen Heavenʼs all-powerful life energy to heal himself. After all, if he used his life energy, he would have to find whatʼs wrong with him first and then find a sophisticated way to heal by actually finding the core of the injury.

Nonetheless, he opened his eyes as he raised his hand and panned out six jade slips in front of him.

They were none other than the death-attribute techniques that Deathseeker gifted him.

However, Davis frowned.

ʼThis is not what I want. Techniques are external, and the more powerful the technique is, the more it uses energy and leaves me dry, leaving me unable to fight...ʼ

Davis thought, figuring that he should learn them but not rely on them much. After all, he was looking to increase his innate prowess stemming from the power of the Laws and not external prowess increased by techniques.

Before Deathseeker had given him these gifts, he had already decided to take these steps, but seeing an easy way out, he was tempted to learn.

However, forcefully calming himself, he waved his hand again and kept all the jade slips inside, knowing that he could learn them later. Two of those were useless as they were Divine Techniques that could only be used at Immortal King Stage, so he didnʼt feel much heartache.

Instead, he took out another jade container that made him hold his breath as he looked at the ancient aura stemming from it. Inside it was a treasure that made his heart start to pound crazily.

This was none other than the treasure given as a reward to him by Lereza.

Lereza gave out different types of rewards for different types of achievements. She had first given his women a reward for completing a year of training in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace as though it was an achievement.

However, he didnʼt receive any for that, making him understand that it wasnʼt something for the master of the palace.

Next, there was a reward for coming to possess a Heaven Immortal Vessel. This applied to all, and he also got the reward for it, coming to possess the Blood Essence Orb, which he shared with Mira and Schleya.

But as for this reward, this was given out when he had cleared a challenge located in Lerezaʼs quarters, that was to defeat a version of himself... again!

Except for this time, it couldnʼt copy his specialty but possessed a prowess that was ten levels higher!

Only with his chaotic body was he able to successfully defeat it, managing to receive this reward which was none other than a...

”You... donʼt you dare use it...!”

Lereza descended again, her beautiful, wavy eyes flickering as she gazed at the treasure she had given but told him not to use it under any circumstance!

Davis blinked but was still unable to take off his gaze at the jade container as he opened it, looking at a dark purple orb that gave off an extraordinary heaven-shattering might that almost caused his heart to leap out of his throat!

He raised his head, feeling fear and excitement pounding through his heart as he gazed at Lereza.

”Why canʼt I...? After Nyx Godwin came and served himself as a feed to establish some sort of comprehension in Destruction Laws in me so that I can finally have a chance at integrating it with my chaotic-tempered body, why should I still keep this Destruction Essence Orb unused?”

”Because.... because... you will die, dummy!”

Lereza screamed out, looking at him with an incredulous gaze.
