Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2732 Master-Disciple?

”...”

Davis lowered his head and contemplated for a few moments.

It was unknown what he thought, but he shook his head and turned to look at Rai Zenflame. It didnʼt seem like he had become a retard, but he received an immense shock to his soul that he had gone out of commission now.

Davis knew that it couldnʼt be helped, considering that the other partyʼs soul was too powerful to extract memories from that it became rattled from disbelief and exhaustion. Nonetheless, Davis was also shocked to find out that Rai Zenflame was a virgin.

For a scheming bastard, he never imagined that Rai Zenflame would still be pure. Nevertheless, he didnʼt have an ounce of pity for him.

”Would be a good souvenir to Mingzhi... and you...”

He cackled at Rai Zenflame with delight, imagining how she would torture him as he slightly moved his head to glance at Deathseeker, who maintained a blatant smile.

”Consider me entranced by your gift, for I will become your disciple.”

Deathseekerʼs smile grew wider. However, before he could say anything, Davis continued.

”However, you must promise me to never interfere in my personal life, much less do something as silly as trying to separate me from my wives and vice versa. Doing so will garner my hatred and will end up killing you.”

”And... no kowtows!”

Davis added, causing Deathseekerʼs smile to freeze before he appeared to be amused.

”Why? Isnʼt that the formal way of accepting a master for a disciple?”

”I might be starting to like you, but I do not respect you enough to kowtow.”

”Then I guess I will have to abandon the thought of having the young Emperor of Death kowtow to me.”

Deathseeker lightly chuckled, appearing not to be offended. He looked away, seemingly in thought, before returning his gaze to Davis.

”I have a lot of gifts to give you, but donʼt you have something for your master?”

”Let me see...”

Davis pursed his lips, appearing nonchalant before his eyes slightly widened.

”First, you present me the gifts you have for me, and thereafter, Iʼll give you an appropriate gift.”

”Do you have the tendency to reciprocate? Such a thing is unlikely of the Emperor of Death.”

”Do I look like I care? I do what I like.”

Davis shrugged, causing Deathseeker to laugh about it lightly, flicking his finger at Davis as though telling him he liked his attitude.

However, he also sighed, looking as though he was still disappointed about something, before taking out a few items from his spatial ring.

*Whoosh~* *Whoosh~* *Whoosh~*

Six items rushed at Davis, causing him to backtrack a bit as he imagined that they were some kind of attack, but then, he saw them float in front of him as they revealed their existences as jade slips, having many names etched onto them of which he recognized a few, utmost two.

[Dark Depths Avatar Mirage]

[Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps]

”I heard that you bought the Dark Depths Avatar Mirage technique and Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps technique and learned them, but in reality, both these techniques originated from the Ghost Tear Hallʼs founder, which has been researched and has undergone a few favorable changes by many successors.”

Deathseekerʼs voice became solemn, ”Their foundational essence is indeed Death Laws, as you might have predicted.”

”...” Davis became a bit stunned, not because of Deathseekerʼs words but because these two jade slips should actually be Immortal Emperor Grade if he was not wrong!

He didnʼt even have the Immortal King Grade sections of it, so he was wondering how to obtain them when he had distanced himself from the Ghost Tear Hall, but now, it was coming to his lap as though they were his mistresses.

Whatʼs more...

[Accursed Heirʼs Presence]

[Soul-Devouring Doom Eyes]

[Deathward Seacloak Dominion]

[Midnight Calamity Avarice]

As he saw the names of the other jade slips that had the nuance ʼdeathʼ stuck all over them, he couldnʼt help but shiver in excitement.

”The Soul-Devouring Eyes Doom Eyes, as you can see, I have it. As for the Accursed Heirʼs Presence, Iʼve only had a basic understanding of it, and the Deathward Seacloak Dominion and Midnight Avarice Calamity are totally incomprehensible and dangerous techniques. Once used, you can use your life because they are Divine Techniques of my Ghost Tear Hall.”

”...!” Davis became shocked.

Divine Techniques! It was something that only Immortal Kings could use because of the heavy amount of karmic burden aligning behind the usage of those techniques.

His shock came from the fact that there were actually two Divine Techniques for Death Laws, which was totally out of his expectations.

Besides, all these items more or less sounded like legacy treasures of the Ghost Tear Hall, which made him wonder what Deathseekerʼs true intentions were, especially when he felt that there was no way the other party we being this courteous with him.

Did Deathseeker really want him to be his disciple, or was he patient and devious enough to entrap him in order to learn his secrets?

Davis really couldnʼt tell, nor could Lereza, who warned him using a soul transmission not to be hasty in accepting these gifts. Hence, he decided to test the waters by truly becoming Deathseekerʼs disciple, or rather, he had decided to jump into the lake altogether to see through the deep waters.

”Why are you gifting me all these expensive items? It couldnʼt be that you have free reign over them, right?”

”Unfortunately, immortals who have comprehended Death Laws tend to have a short lifespan as they dance between life and death all the time in order to gain insights, so I am its only worthy successor, making me the de facto Young Master of the Ghost Tear Hall.” Deathseeker seemed amused as he lightly laughed.

”I see.” Davis appeared rather taken aback before he asked curiously, ”Then you wonʼt mind if I take a look at these jade slips, right?”

”Just take them. Youʼre my disciple, after all.”

Deathseeker waved his hands as though he was throwing away garbage, causing Davisʼs eyes to flicker.

”Then I wonʼt stand on ceremony.”

He appeared before them and clenched one of the many jade slip with a wave of his arm, and indeed, it contained the passage and circulatory route required to accommodate the changes that the Immortal Emperor Stage brought, meaning that it had the sections till the Peak Immortal Emperor Grade, making this technique, the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps, incredibly valuable!

Whatʼs more, he checked the Dark Depths Avatar Mirage Technique and the other techniques but was truly shocked to find that everything had been provided to him on a silver plate as every manual was at Peal Immortal Emperor Grade, which made him seriously wonder if these were fake because of the immense value these jade slips hold.

How could it be given to a junior just like that?

Davis felt that there must be some hidden dangers or an agenda behind it, but he was unable to resist, storing them in his spatial ring as he displayed a jaded smile, showing his teeth.

”This disciple accepts masterʼs gifts.”

”In return...”

Davis took out a jade container and sent it to Deathseeker, causing the other party to look at it with curious eyes as the vortex slowly spun in his eyes.

Deathseeker clasped the jade container and opened it unceremoniously without any suspense or appraisal.

”...!”

However, the moment he saw the pigeon-egg-sized black orb sealed inside a transparent container, his eyes bulged wide, the vortex almost threatening to collapse as they started swirling in the opposite direction.

”This is... a Death Essence Orb!!!?”

Deathseeker was shocked beyond compare as he sensed the pure energy of death radiate from it, unable to believe his eyes or his senses.

”Indeed.” Davis proudly nodded, ”Although it is merely the size of a jewel, it holds the essence of death, and for a person like you who has blindly stepped into the world of death with only the teachings of the ancestors who also blindly traversed like you and perhaps some danger zones that contain death energy sporadically, this should increase your foundation by many times, causing your prowess to improve by leaps and bounds.”

His words ultimately caused Deathseeker to quiver in excitement before he forcefully raised his head and stared at Davis with a peculiar glint.

”Good! Good... Good!!! My good disciple, just tell me, who do you want to get rid of? The Fire Phoenix Patriarch? The Earth Dragon Patriarch? This master wouldnʼt say no to whoever you point at!”

Deathseeker grinned as he pointed at himself as he spoke before waving his hand, appearing to be full of joy and pride.

”...”

Davis blinked, not expecting such a reaction from Deathseeker.

After all, in his lies, it was already obvious that he couldnʼt have gained every ounce of his inspiration for Death laws from Nadia, so there must be another source of power that he must reveal or fabricate.

Davis didnʼt intend to reveal his true trump card, so he intentionally threw a bait to see Deathseekerʼs reaction, but the reaction was positive and full of passion instead of negative.

ʼTruly... what the heck is going on...?ʼ

Davis was full of questions as he watched Deathseeker look at the five percent of the whole Death Essence Orb like some wild animal whiffing meat for the first time.
