Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2706 Search

Davis quickly turned to look around. Here, everyoneʼs soul sense was restricted, so he couldnʼt find Flamerose quickly, even if he wanted to. His eyes saw the numerous faces. He even saw some familiar people whom he had interacted with but didnʼt have the chance to talk to again, like Haijin Minn, the assassination target he let go of who was supposed to be in the far eastern branch of the Aurora Cloud Gate.

He also saw Vereina, the Divergent he had accidentally kidnapped, and also many others.

He could find almost everyone he had met in the past few months on this day, but the person he was looking for, Flamerose, was missing!

”Husband, perhaps sheʼs still recovering...”

Shirley sent a soul transmission, her voice sounding soothing.

However, Davis had his eyes severely narrowed, still searching for Flamerose, only to find Frostrose. Just as he heard Shirleyʼs soothing voice, he couldnʼt help but recall Rai Zenflameʼs mysterious look, his gaze was full of derision towards him, revealing his superiority complex that couldnʼt be concealed.

”No… I think somethingʼs wrong...

Davis found that look extremely disgusting to look at, but it had also given him a bad feeling. He had shrugged, thinking that he was overestimating the other party too much, but then at this moment, someone had apparently used a formation that traces the inheritor.

He knew a formation should come with certain restrictions, especially a formation that spies on individuals or actually does something in another location than the location the formation was established.

He could guess that a tracing formation like this would have its limits, and one of its limits should certainly be a time limit. He refused to believe the Ice Phoenix Clan could use the inheritor tracing formation so soon after their last use, and the Ice Phoenix Mistress behind him looked as confused as him, looking at him in detail as though trying to see through what he was thinking.

Therefore, he had instantly theorized that it wasnʼt the Ice Phoenix Clan but the Fire Phoenix Clan that had used the inheritor tracing formation.

In that case, what need did the Fire Phoenix Clan have for them to trace Shirley if they didnʼt find an anomaly somehow?

*Whoosh!~*

He quickly moved, causing the others to be stunned before he appeared before Frostrose.

”Mistress Yeyin, are you feeling anything?”

”Huh?”

Mistress Yeyin became dumbfounded at Davis suddenly appearing before her, looking at her with wide eyes. She was looking at the catalog to find some useful treasures for her, but she was suddenly startled out of her reverie as she heard his solemn voice, causing her to blurt out a sound of surprise.

She wondered what this personʼs deal was and what kind of question was that...?

How did she feel? She currently felt her face turn warm. Was she supposed to say that?

”You. Whatʼs wrong with you?”

She asked, but instantly saw Davis zip past her, leaving her standing stunned. He appeared to dash towards the exit but then suddenly stooped, making his way back to her in an instant.

”Where is Zaharaʼs island?”

”How am I supposed to know? You should ask the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs members-”

”Then you should come with me.”

Davisʼs eyes underwent a minute, invisible change as he looked away in a particular direction. In his vision was a pink thread extending into the void. This pink was particularly tainted by black and yellow, causing him to instantly understand that it was a familial thread connecting Frostrose and Flamerose.

There was only one pink thread, meaning none of her blood relations by birth were actually here, and the story of her father being exiled was fake.

But none of that mattered at this moment. His eyes couldnʼt help but tremble as he looked at the pink thread extending into the void. The opposite side of where he was facing was where the islands were situated, which meant, Flamerose was possibly outside the sect now.

”…!”

Mistress Yeyin was shocked at Davis to grab her wrist and launched himself towards the exit.

”You-”

”We donʼt have time. Your sister has possibly been kidnapped…!”

”…!”

A soul transmission fell on Mistress Yeyinʼs mind, causing what she was about to say to come to a stop as her pupils dilated.

”Stop!”

”How dare you force a maiden like this in broad daylight!?”

”Courting death!”

Many dragons and phoenixes reacted first, furious that a human would handle a female magical beast like that, causing them to dash and instantly surround Davis.

”…!”

Davis came to a stop as he looked at a number of magical beast disciples surrounding him. Within a second, many more appeared to surround him.

Tanya also appeared by his side, taking out an icy sword that radiated an enormous amount of pressure that caused the other disciples to stay their hands.

From roaring Fire Dragons to Dark Phoenixes, all Immortal King Beasts came to a stop, thinking twice before wanting to make a move.

”Is it true?”

”Iʼm ninety-nine percent sure. If not, you can beat me up.”

”…”

Mistress Yeyinʼs heart sank for some reason, even though she disliked her half-sister Zahara. Taking a deep breath, she flicked her hand from Davisʼs grasp and clenched his wrist instead.

”Then what are you waiting for? Letʼs go!”

This time, Mistress Yeyin dragged Davis into the horizon, causing the men who surrounded him to be stunned. This was a turn of events that they didnʼt predict, causing their jaws to drop while Tanya lightly smiled at them in derision before following Davis.

”…!”

Abruptly, two pearls opened, revealing a pair of crimson eyes shuddering before gazing around. The owner of these two pearls was a female. She quickly stood up, appearing shocked and cold as she shivered.

Turning to gaze around, she found that she was on a decorated bed that had crimson patterns all over it, causing her to flinch and fly. However, she suddenly found that she could not remain floating and plunged down to the bed, feeling her legs go limp as she found herself kneeling above the bed.

Instantly, she grabbed her head with her two hands as she looked around, noticing that she was in an enclosed space with a lot of furniture of phoenixes, perhaps someoneʼs room, but also…

”This… itʼs like someone is gazing at me…”

Mistress Zaharaʼs voice shuddered, wondering where she was as she kept wary of her surroundings and felt like she was being probed. She had never experienced this feeling before, causing her to feel unsafe and nervous.

But at this moment, amidst the hazy thoughts in her mind, she suddenly remembered how she couldʼve ended up here.

”Tegon…”

She remembered talking to him before when he presented a letter that was from the Fire Phoenix Clan. Garnering it as something important, she quickly opened it, but then, the letter suddenly transformed into a bind that wrapped around her, momentarily disrupting her flow of energy.

Using that chance, Tegon took out a vial and threw it at her face. He was so close and hit her face easily. However, the thing that came out of it was not a liquid, but it exploded into dense gas that seeped into her pores despite holding her breath, causing her mind to freeze and her soul to chill.

Before she knew it, she woke up here, appearing all confused and destabilized.

”What… what was that… I canʼt burst forth with my phoenix flames...”

Mistress Zahara quivered ever so lightly as she found herself powerless and helpless in someoneʼs territory. She tried to calm her panicking heart like a cornered little bird, feeling her weakness become more prevalent as she found her mind dozing off again.

This caused her to imagine that she only woke up because she felt some danger as she was being spied upon by someone. She guessed that it was the owner of this place, causing her to become more nervous and gasp for breath to remain awake.

Crawling over, she got off the bed slowly and tried to leave, getting up. Her footsteps were light, but each movement she took made her feel like she was crossing thousands of steps. She had never experienced such weakness, causing her to feel wronged.

What did she do to deserve this?

Just as she clenched her teeth and tried to walk towards the only door with a swift speed, the door suddenly opened, causing her to come to a stop as her expression flickered.

”Tegon, so it was indeed you...”

Mistress Zahara gnashed her teeth heavily. Now she believed that her mind was not playing tricks with her like it was playing tricks with her origin, and she was truly kidnapped by Tegon Zenflame.

”If the Fire Phoenix Clan came to know, then they would make you live in a burning hell…!”

She threatened, but the mere response Tegon Zenflame showed her was a wry smile as though looking at her with pity.

”Unfortunately, our clan was the one who told us to forcefully take you back.”

”…!” Mistress Zaharaʼs brows quivered, but she kept staring at him with an angered gaze.

”Isnʼt that obvious?” Tegon Zenflame shrugged as he walked towards her, ”Because you have sided with that retard too much, the clan has called you back for punishment.”

He appeared by her side and reached out his hand to touch Mistress Zaharaʼs crimson hair, causing her to flinch and get away from him with faltering steps.

”Oh, my. Watch it… I donʼt want you to get hurt, as I am a man who protects women. I donʼt resort to these methods like others do, so I wonʼt take advantage of you, but a little bit of punishment for humiliating me all this time is necessary, right?”

Tegon Zenflame smirked wickedly as he followed her, causing Mistress Zaharaʼs expression to flicker as tears welled up in her eyes.

”You… bastard… if you come any closer, I will… commit suicide!”
