Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2735 The Possibility Within The Impossible?

 *Boom!~*

Chaotic energy swirled from Davisʼs palm as he blasted a mirror image of him into smithereens. It exploded into a dark vapor and disappeared, its remnant voice echoing with a trace of crazed laughter.

”Damn it… do I really have to be so ruthless against myself?”

Davis looked at this other arm and saw that it was missing, including half of his shoulder, as he complained about his strong doppelganger that had a prowess that was ten levels higher. His brows twitched in pain as he thought about how easy it would be to knock his doppelganger down with his chaotic might, but he didnʼt expect the other party to use types of moves he had never seen made by himself, which made him question who exactly was the original.

However, he was also prideful as it just proved that he wouldnʼt die without giving a worse time for his opponent.

Nonetheless, with Fallen Heavenʼs life energy, he was quickly back to health in a few minutes, turning to look at Lereza, who awaited his attention with a jade container in her hands.

Once Davis got the reward from her and opened it out of sheer curiosity, he was shocked to find the exact opposite of his bodily nature residing in an orb-like form, its pure essence simply blasting his face with a hint of destruction as he got the shivers.

It was at this moment that he intrinsically felt that this universe was meant to… be destroyed one day, causing him to take a step back as he stared at Lereza with wide eyes.

”Donʼt use the Destruction Essence Orb, alright? You will die.”

Lereza grasped the jade contained and closed it, pushing it towards him.

”What…?” Davis was utterly disoriented, ”Then why are you giving this to me?”

”How should I know? Iʼm merely following the rules here.”

Lereza shrugged as she looked away but then turned to look at him as she glared at him, ”Youʼre trying to make me say something I shouldnʼt.”

”Do I look like I care about that right now? Tell me, what is the meaning of this?”

Davis pointed at Destruction Essence Orb. The very existence of it made him feel fearful and excited as he couldnʼt wait to somehow use it and comprehend Destruction Laws, but he also knew for a fact that if he were to start absorbing such a thing, he could truly die.

However, whoever the true master of this inheritance palace is should know such a thing if they did indeed plan to give such a reward to the one who was able to clear this challenge, making it rather redundant. So then, why did they decide to hand over the Destruction Essence Orb as a reward?

To make the inheritor explode?

ʼOf course not!ʼ Davis denied it, so he was sure that there must be some other meaning to this reward.

Besides, he knew for a fact that this was also not the way to create the Chaotic Genesis Physique! Therefore, he was all the more sure that this reward of something of importance in a way he couldnʼt fathom.

”As I said...” Lereza simply moved her cherry lips, ” This is the Destruction Essence Orb that is directly opposing in nature to the Chaos Essence Orb that you absorbed and comprehended, so even trying to absorb a wisp of the Destruction Essence Orbʼs pure essence will result in your cultivation undergoing cultivation deviation at the very least.”

”Wait… isnʼt creation and destruction the two sides of the same coin?” Davisʼs brows squinted in doubt.

However, he saw Lereza solemnly shake her head.

”People confuse creation with destruction. They are not two sides of the same coin. Chaos and destruction are the two sides of the same coin. For chaotic energy to exist, there needs to be something born out of nothing. That is creation, a derivation of concrete imagination, manifesting reality out of nothing. And just as creation is the source of everything, there exists nothingness, the other side of the coin.”

”Heh~” Suddenly, she couldnʼt help but giggle, ”Itʼs funny when I say that nothingness ʼexistsʼ. How can something exist if nothing is there? Itʼs not even an empty void, much less even conceivable in imagination by sentient minds. Countless powerful immortals have researched nothingness, the Laws of Nihility. However, how could you grasp something that doesnʼt exist? Even its existence is asked into question many times while researching, essentially forming a loop or a paradox. Some have even gone mad trying to discover the path to its door.”

Davis listened to Lerezaʼs words carefully, wondering how she learned all this before he remembered seeing that her quarters, was in fact, stuffed with scrolls and jade slips. However, he never got access to them, nor was he interested in them right now, causing him to look more like a curious child himself, his eyes gleaming.

”Then how did they discover its existence?

Lereza smiled, turning around and walking to the side as she began taking a lesson.

”This is only discussed because, in the history of the immortal world, there was only one individual who has come to comprehend Creation Laws.”

”Who?” Davisʼs heart pounded.

”The heavens, of course. It has comprehended everything except nihility, or so countless scholars have mused.”

”…”

Lereza shrugged, causing Davis to be stumped, thinking that was such an obvious answer.

”Or else, it could simply wisp you out of existence in a tribulation?” He added on, causing Lereza to look at him with wide yet approving eyes.

”Exactly.”

”When it comes to the heavens or anything for that matter, such a thing never occurred. Even if it happened, you wouldnʼt be able to tell that it happened. Thatʼs why it is inconceivable and paradoxical. However, the closest thing to nihility is reincarnation. When used in the way you want, you could revive someone in terms of creation or throw them out of the cycle of reincarnation in terms of nihility.”

Lereza completed the lesson as she indirectly told him what was best for him, making it so that Davis could only leave with the reward in hand and yet couldnʼt use it. It was like having a wife yet not being able to bed her.

This kind of feeling almost endlessly irked him and made him reserve this ungodly treasure for someone in his family who displayed promise for Destruction Laws until he saw Nyx Godwin, who successfully comprehended Destruction Laws. Still, after seeing Nyx Godwin, he felt like giving up as the energy was too berserk to control, which was directly opposite to how his chaotic energy worked, calm like a tidal wave, yet when it crashed, it could cause a huge amount of devastation.

He came to understand that combining both powers wouldnʼt work, but after Nyx Godwin messed up and got killed by Myria, allowing him to plunder his soul essence, a new idea took root in his heart, an idea that he couldnʼt get rid of unless he tried and failed.

What if he didnʼt absorb the pure essence of the Destruction Essence Orb but tried to comprehend the essence of Destruction Laws through Nyx Godwinʼs soul essence and somehow found a way to amalgamate and make them co-exist?

Wouldnʼt his need to be innately strong with his prowess be fulfilled by then… completely leaving any and almost all types of geniuses like theyʼre trash in his path?

Once he imagined such a thing, it was difficult to let go of, causing Davisʼs eyes to flicker as he came to reality after remembering yet foregoing all the warnings Lereza gave him.

”Dummy…?” He smiled, ”If I do the impossible, then...”

Davis shook his head, closed his eyes, and began refining the soul essence of Nyx Godwin, causing dark grayish and purple clouds to be extracted. In these comprehension clouds, there was not only comprehension and insights into Destruction Laws, but there was also comprehension towards Space Laws, making it immensely beneficial for Davis to absorb this soul essence.
