Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2717 Another Layer

Back on the island, Evelynn and the others returned after their shopping spree, except they hadnʼt shopped for anything since they were worried about Davis.

They had returned in case they were going to be ambushed or suicide-murdered into oblivion. After all, they knew they had too many enemies and assassins who would wish to kill them to invoke Davisʼs fury in order to bring him out.

But at this moment, Nadia turned to look at them.

”Master says that he is only slightly injured, and he will return in a few hours after taking care of a few things.”

”What about the Fire Phoenix Clan?” Evelynn asked with a solemn gaze.

She could see through Davisʼs eyes, so she knew that the Fire Phoenix Clan had besieged him. But at this moment, their vision was clouded, so she couldnʼt say what was going on.

”Theyʼve retreated, it seems.” Nadiaʼs lips curled as she turned to look at Mingzhi, ”Also, it seems that Rai Zenflame had escaped with his soul intact.”

”I see.”

Mingzhiʼs eyes narrowed, but her lips curled into a smile a moment later, ”That sneaky bastardʼs life expectancy is good, but thatʼs fine. I have a few torture methods in mind that I would like to try when we catch him later on.”

Everyone looked at Mingzhi but seeing that she didnʼt mind this loss, they couldnʼt help but smile.

”Thatʼs right.” Isabella nodded, ”Weʼll make him regret ever having to offend one of us.”

They knew how Tanya had tortured Rai Zenflame because Evelynn told them by seeing through Davisʼs eyes. She was their source of information for everything that happened, so they greatly relied on her and Nadia since the latter could directly talk with him using their soul connection.

Nonetheless, they were relieved to hear that Davis and Tanya were safe amidst all that. They didnʼt expect Immortal Emperors to appear at that moment, causing their hearts to clench in worry. Isabella and Shirley would have almost stormed off if it werenʼt for Evelynn stopping them.

After all, the three of them had their own constructs to defend against Immortal Emperors as they had faced the challenges in their Treasury and passed, so in essence, they were not scared of anyone other than Mid Stage Immortal Emperors and above.

As inheritors, it could be said that they could carry their own weight.

”Still… what does he mean by a few things? Donʼt tell me heʼs going after them…?”

”I donʼt know. Our shared vision is clouded. He blocked me.”

”Pfft~”

Evelynn lightly shook her head, but that caused Mingzhi to almost burst laughing as she compared it with a modern situation.

Evelynn blinked, wondering if she had something wrong, causing Mingzhi to giggle.

”What else do you think is happening? Heʼs being intimate with Tanya right now.”

”Hehe~ Sister Tanya deserves it, so let her have her time,” Fiora interjected.

”True.” Natalya agreed with a wry smile, ”Her achievements for the family have already surpassed a few of us.”

”I donʼt have anything against him being intimate with Tanya either. But Iʼm afraid he said...”

Mingzhi shrugged as she turned to look at Zestria, making everyone remember the words he said to her.

”Me neither.” However, Zestria equally shrugged, ”As I said, Iʼm honored to just be with him.”

Mingzhi couldnʼt help but reveal a knowing smile, ”If youʼre like that, youʼll never get your chance. We are in a harem, sister Zestria. Make sure you put your foot forward like everyone else. Otherwise, youʼll practically be invisible.”

Everyone couldnʼt help but nod their heads, knowing that the competition for his time was sky-high. They understood that he couldnʼt give them his attention with how even Immortal Emperors had started attacking them, so for them to feel even a bit closer to him was almost impossible during this time unless he sacrificed his cultivation time, which they didnʼt want to interfere with.

It was a complex situation between wants and needs. They wanted his love but needed to live in order to enjoy it. With that obvious, the one who is competitive the most will tend to get his attention more than the others.

”Isnʼt that what Iʼm aiming for?” However, Zestria smirked suddenly, ”I donʼt have many romantic moments to recount as you sisters do. Almost every one of you was loved by him before you were taken, but my circumstances are different. If Iʼm invisible and he comes to me, doesnʼt that mean heʼs truly looking to be intimate with me?”

”…” Suddenly, everyone blinked and made a dumbfounded expression behind their veils as they imagined that kind of scenario, while Bylai smiled deeply as she could relate a lot.

”Wow~ You said something good!” Shirley exclaimed before she curiously asked, ”Should we make ourselves scarce?”

”That wonʼt work.” Ellia shook her head, ”At that time, he might bring another sister home who will be all over him.”

”Ahaha~”

”Thatʼs true~” Mingzhi couldnʼt help but laugh along with the others, but Isabella heaved a low breath.

”Sigh~ I wish there comes a time when we can all receive his love more, but right now, we all need to have our gaze forward and see that we lose none of us.”

”Indeed,” Mingzhiʼs gaze became solemn as she panned her gaze at Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirley, ”Are you three really moving forward with the Candidacy? Iʼm pretty sure others wonʼt say it, but Iʼll say it. What you three are doing might get the three of you killed and, as a result, cause our unity to collapse.”

”Oh, donʼt worry about that, sweet Mingzhi.” Shirley winked, ”We already decided who gets to be the winner among the three of us.”

Mingzhi blinked but still hardened her stance, ”Still, I think itʼs a disservice to our husband. To stake your life for another power is selfish and burdens him. In reality- mhm!”

”Aha, she didnʼt say anything.” Fiora hurriedly shut Mingzhiʼs mouth as she giggled wryly.

However, Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirleyʼs expressions were already complicated.

”We know. Weʼre selfish. We wanted to repay our inheritance masters, but for that, we brought him so much trouble.” Shirleyʼs voice became meek, ”I donʼt want to trouble him, but I donʼt want to be ungrateful as well. If it werenʼt for Zahara, I wouldnʼt have been able to save husband at that time, so that truly is a knot that I canʼt untie unless I repay this debt.”

”Of course, if he wants me to stop, I will stop...” Isabella shot a wry smile.

Her emotions towards the Earth Dragon Clan werenʼt as strong as what Shirley felt for the Fire Phoenix Clan of the immortal world that Flamerose belonged to.

”Mingzhi,” Finally, Evelynn opened her lips, her voice resounding in a calm yet seductive tone, ”I understand what youʼre saying, but ultimately, our actions are something that benefits our husband more than anyone else or any power.”

”Remember, we all belong to him.”

Her purple eyes glimmered with strong emotion, causing Mingzhiʼs eyes to flicker.

”Good. That was the answer I was expecting, and now I know whom you three have chosen to be the victor.”

”Really?”

Fiora raised her brows, but Mingzhi giggled, simply looking at the victor with a predatory gaze that caused the other party to be impressed.

*Bzzzz!~*

Abruptly, a person among them disappeared, causing everyone to raise their brows before a blatant smile appeared on their face.

”Looks like we have another Immortal King among us.”

”Immortal King Beast, to be exact!”

Everyone couldnʼt help but feel excited, knowing that Nadia had entered the Immortal King Stage as her main body finally went through her Immortal King Tribulation in the Divergent Peak while all this was happening!

Within a few minutes, a shadow enveloped their island, causing everyone to gawk as they saw a six-hundred-meter-long dark wolf above them. Its giant wings stretching for long as though encompassing the island was a breathtaking sight, causing them to shiver while the dark clouds hanging over the giant body made her look like a mountain peak surrounded by dark clouds.

This unbelievable sight had them stiff before suddenly the giant figure disappeared, allowing bright sunshine to fall on them, and in the midst of that sunshine arose a cute little wolf that appeared between them, shaking its three tails and appearing rather cute as though it was a wild animal that stumbled upon them accidentally.

”Ahhh!~”

A few women went crazy, falling on Nadia as they tried to capture her cute silhouette. Even the solemn and silent Clara felt a bit tempted, but Nadia flawlessly dodged them and appeared on a personʼs shoulder.

Evelynn raised her hand and patted Nadia with fondness, ”Go~ Go watch over the palace your beloved master is in~”

”Phi~”

Nadiaʼs three tails abruptly split, turning into two doppelgangers that instantly disappeared out of their senses.

Shortly after Nadiaʼs doppelgangers left, they decided to go shopping again.

This time, Myria was out of seclusion from the sectʼs time chamber, and they were shocked to see her having entered the Immortal King Stage in Soul Forging Cultivation.

Along with Nadia and Myriaʼs group, they felt like they had nothing to fear and headed towards the Treasury, making countless heads turn and jaws drop as they were like fairies descending from the heavens, with almost each one of them exuding a unique and exquisite aura that completely baffled the onlookers.
