Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2709 Crowned A...

Rai Zenflame and Tegon Zenflame looked at each other in an excited manner before the former gestured, intending to escape. After all, if they returned to the Aurora Cloud Gate, they would surely be executed or imprisoned for life at the very least.

Nonetheless, Rai Zenflame couldnʼt help but quickly take out a messaging talisman and open his mouth.

”Patriarch, I killed the Emperor of Death.”

”What!?”

Instantly came a sound of disbelief from the other side. It was a manʼs voice, and judging by the reaction speed, it could be seen that Patriarch Killian Zenflame was waiting for a message to be sent all this while.

”Iʼm telling the truth, Patriarch.” Killian Zenflame grinned, ”He came to rescue Zahara with her half-sister and his wife, but as soon as he did, I killed all of them.”

”Aha! Good! Very good!”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame couldnʼt help but burst out laughing from the other side, causing Rai Zenflame to be unable to hold back his pride from displaying on his face.

”Wait- what!? What did you say...?”

Suddenly, a doubtful voice emerged from the other side, causing Rai Zenflame to chuckle.

”I said that I killed that poser, his wife Tanya Davis, who inherited a non-Candidacy immortal inheritance, Zahara and her half-sister. I know. Zaharaʼs death is truly a tragedy, but considering the circumstance and the opportunity to kill the Emperor of Death, I had no choice but to take the chance.”

”You fool! What have you done!?”

”...!?”

Rai Zenflame became stunned. He was expecting the Patriarch to praise him as the Divergent Slayer of the century but never did he expect to be yelled at.

”Patriarch...” He uttered with a dumbfounded voice, wondering what he had done wrong.

However, the other side went silent, causing his heart to sink.

Rai Zenflame turned to look at Tegon Zenflame, imagining that he had done something stupid. Just as his expression turned cold, wanting to ask Tegon Zenflame, a furious voice resounded from the messaging talisman.

”Bastard!!! Sheʼs the fifth inheritor, for heavenʼs sake! Find her and bring her back alive!!! If you donʼt bring her back alive and well, your head will be chopped off from your neck!”

”...!”

Rai Zenflame became stunned, his muscles stiffening.

Fifth inheritor? However, just as he realized the implication and noticed the relief in Patriarchʼs words, and understood that Zahara was still alive, his expression froze.

If Zahara was still alive... then...

*Vrmm!~*

Abruptly, a giant maw engulfed him, causing his scalp to turn numb. His fey phoenix wings spread, and he was about to burst with strength, but then, his foot came in contact with a surface, causing him to bend from the force and face plant to the ground.

Rai Zenflame spat a mouthful of blood on the floor, rising up from the intricately-patterned icy tile. It was cold to the touch, causing him to understand something.

For a moment, he had thought he was eaten by a magical beast, but he understood that didnʼt happen.

Turning to look around, he saw four walls surrounding him and a closed door over where he was facing earlier. Clenching his teeth, he groaned as the realization of being trapped dawned on him.

It wasnʼt a maw but an entrance to a structure! A construct, and an Immortal Emperor Grade one at that, since it could injure him!

”Welcome to my inheritance palace, Rai Zenflame. Iʼm delighted to have you here.”

Abruptly, an icy-white-robed woman appeared in front of him, her sharp eyes radiating a cold, killing intent despite her words.

Rai Zenflameʼs pupils dilated as not only did he see Tanya Davis appear unharmed, but Davis and Yeyin were also present without any injuries whatsoever.

He had unleashed an ambush attack at full force at them, unable to understand how a bunch of immortal disciples could react against it.

He understood that Tanya Davis was as strong as a Late Immortal King with her mindboggling prowess obtained by inheriting the legacy of a Legendary Immortal Emperor whom he had no idea about, but even if she was, he knew that she would in no way be able to defend even against his normal attack, much less an attack using his full force as he was able to battle against average Level One Immortal Emperor.

So for Tanya Davis to react in time and summon her inheritance palace didnʼt make sense to him at all unless it was automated to activate when her life was in danger, but if that was the case, then Davis and Yeyin should definitely have died.

His expression twitched heavily and even became unsightly, unable to comprehend how he failed to kill them.

Indeed, Tanya had reacted in time. She summoned her inheritance palace and quickly absorbed everyone inside regardless of the consequences, and as a result, she was able to save them all.

Davis also looked at Tanya with a complicated gaze. Was this the third time he was saved by her?

Because of Fallen Heaven and adapting to Death laws, he was always sensitive to extreme danger from day one in the cultivation world, but even then, he was too late to take action earlier. He had just given her a look and suddenly appeared inside a palace, causing him to be dumbfounded.

Tanya had reacted too fast, almost as though she expected this to happen.

Was this the sharpness of a sword cultivator?

Tanya drew out her inheritance sword, the one the Frost Sword Cloud had gifted her with fondness.

”Early Immortal Emperors are just sitting ducks inside my inheritance palace. To be able to kill an Immortal King genius with the difference of almost a major stage in our prowess, I guess I should be able to brag about it in the days to come.”

She exuded a cold smile combined with a killing intent that shook Rai Zenflameʼs heart.

*Puchi!~*

”Ahh!”

Abruptly, both his fey wings were severed from his back, causing him to release a painful cry.

He quickly shut his mouth and glared at Tanya with a furious gaze, knowing she was toying with him by taking out her sword as though going to battle him but then using the constructʼs killing formation to sever his wings.

He jumped, but then his two legs were also severed, causing him to lose balance and fall. His palm touched the ground.

*Puchi!~*

Just as it did, causing him to regain balance, a strand of icy light shot past him, severing his arm and causing him to face-plant again.

”Ahhhhhh!”

Rai Zenflame found himself to be helpless, causing him to burn with scarlet flames as he released a furious cry. He rushed towards the gate, intending to escape from certain death if he stayed there. However, an innumerable number of icy lights that seemed to be swords hacked him down, causing blood to splash while he rammed straight into the gates.

*Boom!~* causing a loud, bone-cracking sound to echo.
