I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 599, Ceremony

As time passed minute by minute, the Flame Dragon Tribe welcomed the eternal night. The Tribe had been experiencing wind and snow for a whole but, but that immediately ceased.

Looking around, the entire Tribe was brightly lit everywhere, unlike before when there were no street lamps and everything was pitch black.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes as he stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, observing the panoramic view of the Tribe.

With his hands clasped behind his back, he asked, “It’s dark now, and there’s still no change, hmmm?”

Although he could see that the sky had completely darkened, it was exceptionally quiet, with no enemies in sight.

“Yes, the real danger is still ahead. The Warriors will not be able to relax now.” Sha Lan immediately replied.

Sha Lan also stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, her blue eyes seriously watching the Tribe shrouded in darkness.

Although these three days of the eternal night were extremely terrifying, Sha Lan somehow felt very secure.

Perhaps it was due to the warmth of the Yong’an Building, or perhaps because the Tribe’s weapons had become so much better, or it might be because preparations had been made in advance. Regardless, she had never felt this secure during an eternal night.

“We must strengthen the patrols. No accidents are allowed to occur. The sky must also be defended.” Su Bai instructed.

Not only must they guard against Ferocious Beasts on the ground, but they must also be wary of Ferocious Beasts in the sky.

The Ferocious Beast that could bring about a snowing disaster had made him alert to the skies above.

“I’ve already had Shu Feng lead others to patrol the sky. The street lamps that the Shaman made are proving very useful.” Sha Lan added.

The street lamps Sha Lan mentioned were nothing more than lamps assembled with four glass pieces, sealed above and below with wooden boards, with one or two air holes to ensure the flames inside would not extinguish.

A small stone bowl was placed inside, followed by Kerosene Fruit Juice, which burned for an exceptionally long time and could illuminate its surroundings.

“Did everyone who can fly get dispatched?” Su Bai asked.

“All of them have gone. They also want to contribute to the Tribe.” Sha Lan immediately replied.

All the winged people in the Tribe had gone to patrol with the Totem Warriors. Although there were only three Warriors, there were more than ten Non-Warriors as well. These people, though not Warriors, could still be put to good use.

After all, their control over the aerial domain was still quite weak. Having an extra pair of eyes would be helpful.

“Okay, now we just need to wait for those Ferocious Beasts to arrive.” Su Bai said.

To be honest, he was somewhat excited. He wanted to see what the eternal night was like.

“Shaman, as soon as the Moon in the sky begins to turn red, that represents that those Ferocious Beasts are about to appear.” Sha Lan reminded.

“I know,” Su Bai was looking up at the Moon in the sky.

This had been mentioned by the Chieftain before. As soon as the Moon in the sky became a Blood Moon, it would be time.

All those Ferocious Beasts would be affected by the Blood Moon’s light, causing their emotions to get uncontrollable and thus cause them to go berserk. Therefore, as soon as the Blood Moon appeared, it would be the best warning signal that those Ferocious Beasts were about to attack.

Yan Hua placed her hands on the glass, her red eyes constantly looking up at the Moon in the sky. She blinked her red eyes and softly asked, “Shaman, can we go outside to prepare?”

Yan Hua was getting a bit restless staying inside the Yong’an Building. She really wanted to go outside for a look.

Most importantly, she should be preparing for battle. Having been a Warrior Trainee for so long, she could finally help the Tribe. Since she had trained with firearms for so many days, she was now eager to shoot a bullet through those Ferocious Beasts’ heads.

“It is almost time. Just wait a bit more. Wait until the Moon completely turns red before you go out.” Su Bai raised his hand.

The Moon had to completely turn red before those Ferocious Beasts would gradually go berserk, but it had not turned red yet, and it would still take quite a while, so there was no need to go out so early.

Moreover, although it had stopped snowing outside, the weather was still extremely cold. Rather than going out to suffer in the cold, it was better to stay warm inside the Yong’an Building.

“Okay. It does take quite a long time for the Moon to become red and those Ferocious Beasts to go berserk.” Yan Hua also thought it made sense.

“When you go out later, you must be careful. Never be careless. Although we have firearms, they’re not omnipotent. Remember what I said.” Su Bai instructed.

“I know. ‘The devil exists in the details’. We will definitely handle it well.” Yan Hua immediately replied.

Yan Hua always remembered what Su Bai said, because she felt that whatever he said was always right, and would be helpful to know.

“That’s good then.” Su Bai calmly took a sip of tea.

*Step step step…*

A series of hurried footsteps came, and Yan Jiao ran into the Yong’an Building from the outside covered in sweat. Although it was extremely cold outside, the Chieftain was already drenched in sweat.

He steadied his breathing and reported, “Shaman, the Warriors are all prepared. The Moon outside is beginning to slowly turn red. The entire Tribe awaits your instructions.”

The Chieftain’s expression was particularly serious. Although the current Flame Dragon Tribe was different from before, he dared not relax in the slightest.

“Lead the Warriors to welcome those Ferocious Beasts.” Su Bai had just been focused on chatting and had not noticed the Moon outside turning red.

“Yes,” Yan Jiao nodded and turned to leave the Yong’an Building. Although he could completely make this decision himself, he felt he must discuss everything with the Shaman first.

Although the Shaman had never required this, he felt he must do so, because this Shaman was different from the previous Shaman.

“Shaman, we’re going too.” Yan Hua immediately said, having been somewhat impatient for a while.

“Go ahead. Be careful.” Su Bai nodded.

“Yes.” Both Yan Hua and Sha Lan replied, then turned and ran to change clothes to prepare to face the Ferocious Beasts.

Su Bai watched their departing figures for quite a while before turning back to continue watching the Moon in the sky, constantly observing its change.

“Shaman, would you like to sleep for a while first? That way, you’ll have energy later.” Yu Ying asked.

“No, I need to prepare for the ceremony.” Su Bai shook his head.
