I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 598, Ingenious Formations

“This is precisely what distinguishes us from the other Tribes. Those Tribes will all come to us for help when the time comes.” Su Bai said.

This had been his original plan all along. As the Flame Dragon Tribe developed, others’ dependence on the Tribe would grow stronger.

When the time came, everyone would rely on the Flame Dragon Tribe. This way, without the Flame Dragon Tribe needing to develop too rapidly, those people would want to ally with them.

“That’s true. Our Tribe is now very distinguished from the other Tribes.” Sha Lan nodded.

It could handle many kinds of unexpected situations, which was something many other Tribes had no way of achieving.

When the time came, once other Tribes saw the Flame Dragon Tribe’s rapid development, they would certainly come and ask for the reason.

Of course, such information could not be shared. However, it could be used as a basis for cooperation.

A single Tribe could not possibly develop well relying solely on itself. The Flame Dragon Tribe was no exception. Many things required help from other Tribes.

“How is the training progress with the firearms going?” Su Bai asked. Ever since firearms had been introduced, it had been quite some time since he had checked on the progress. After all, there were many matters to handle, he had not been constantly focused on following up with the firearms.

“Warriors in the Tribe all know how to use firearms now, but many have yet to have proper training.” Sha Lan reported.

The exceptions Sha Lan mentioned were those whose accuracy was not particularly high. Rather than have them train, it was better to conserve bullets first.

When the eternal night ends, or when bullets could be mass-produced, it would not be too late to have them train then.

“Great. Have they all practised the drills? I don’t want any errors appearing at the crucial moment.” Su Bai asked.

He had previously demonstrated to the Warriors what to do if the Ferocious Beasts deviated from their route. Or what to do if Ferocious Beasts crossed the explosive package area and began climbing the Tribe’s wooden walls, and so forth.

All these unexpected situations had been rehearsed, precisely to guard against any incidents that might occur.

Su Bai had listened to summaries of what happened from previous eternal nights, so the countermeasures he thought of this time were from situations that had appeared before.

Not only that, even situations that had never appeared before had all been drilled at least once. In short, no unexpected situations should occur.

“Everything has been rehearsed and everyone is ready. There definitely won’t be any problems.” Sha Lan immediately said.

“Tonight is the eternal night. Once darkness falls, danger will descend, so you must all be cautious.” Su Bai instructed.

Once night fell, it would remain dark for three days straight, until daylight came again.

During these three nights, those Ferocious Beasts would all get frenzied and bloodthirsty.

“Shaman, you should stay inside the Yong’an Building when the time comes. That would be safer.” Sha Lan immediately said.

Sha Lan was most worried about the Shaman’s safety. If something happened to the Tribe, that could not be helped, but absolutely nothing could happen to the Shaman.

The Tribe could be rebuilt at any time, but once there was no Shaman, the Flame Dragon Tribe would effectively cease to exist. Therefore, the most important person to protect was the Shaman.

“It’s fine. I’ll assess the situation when the time comes. If I can go to the front to encourage the Warriors, I’ll do so.” Su Bai said.

He wanted to go to the front lines to have a look when the time came. Apart from wanting to see what these frenzied Ferocious Beasts would be like during the eternal night, he also wanted to give those Warriors a morale boost.

There were no Warriors who did not long for their leader to cheer them on, especially now in this Primitive Era, when Shamans were seen as lofty figures, whose appearance was a blessing.

However, what they most hoped for in their hearts was still the Shaman’s safety. Despite this, Su Bai was confident he would still be safe out in the frontlines.

“Shaman, that is too dangerous. What if those Ferocious Beasts attack you?” Sha Lan immediately shook her head.

“Shaman, please stay inside the Yong’an Building. We will definitely protect the Tribe and will not let anything happen to us.” Yan Hua backed her up.

During the eternal night, everyone would be too busy protecting themselves to have time to look after others. If the Shaman also went out at this time, they would be distracted in watching over him. This could cause issues on their end.

“Don’t worry. Nothing will happen. I’ll stay at the back.” Su Bai said as though it had already been decided upon. He naturally knew they would fervently refuse him. So, he would not go directly to the very front but would watch from a distance.

“Shaman, but…” Yan Hua was still very worried, but before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted.

“It’s fine. Let’s see how the situation develops first. If it’s not serious, I’ll go, all right?” Su Bai said.

He also knew everyone was thinking of his well being, so when the time came, he would see how useful the firearm team proved to be. If the situation looked optimistic, he would go.

“All right.” Yan Hua suddenly blushed, not having expected the Shaman’s tone to be so stern yet gentle.

She could not say anything more, only feeling that heat on her face.

“Pass the word down. According to past years’ experience, once night falls it won’t snow anymore. Have them clear away the accumulated snow while lighting all the street lamps.” Su Bai instructed.

Ever since he had asked the workshop to make street lamps several days ago, they had been laid out. Now, main roads throughout the Tribe were lit.

With the arrival of the eternal night, every spot under the sky would become chaotic darkness. In conditions where one could not see their own hand in front of their face, street lamps were a necessity.

“Understood. I’ll make the arrangements.” Sha Lan immediately said.
