I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 555, Back to How It Was Before

Yu Ying hurriedly returned to the Yong’an Building, removing the cloak from her body, which still had many snowflakes clinging to it.

Although she had gone out wearing the cloak hood and carrying an umbrella, the wind and snow were heavy, and she had inevitably gotten somewhat wet.

“Quickly brush it off, then drink some hot water, otherwise you’ll catch a cold.” Su Bai said.

He saw that her little face had been frozen red, though it still did not affect her appearance.

“Yes.” Yu Ying held a cup of hot water and continued, “Shaman, I have already delivered your blueprints to them.”

“Good, now we just wait for them to manufacture those items,” Su Bai nodded.

He still had considerable confidence in the efficiency of these two workshops. No matter what, they should be able to manufacture these items within three or four days.

“They said roughly the same timeframe, and also said that when they finish manufacturing them, they will definitely inform you at the first opportunity.” Yu Ying immediately said.

“You have worked hard. After resting for a while, please help me review this document,” Su Bai said with satisfaction.

Every time he saw Yu Ying running about, he felt it was rather taxing. During normal times it would be acceptable, but now during the snow season, running about like this was still rather tiring.

“Document? Shaman, have you written something else just now?” Yu Ying asked puzzledly. She had only been gone for such a short time, and there was already a new document.

It seemed that during this snow season things were not so idle after all. There were still many matters requiring attention.

However, Yu Ying preferred being busy like this. Otherwise, staying in the room every day with nothing to do, with the weather being so cold, only able to watch the snowflakes drifting down from the sky… how agonising that was.

“Yes, I am finding some more assistants for you all, so that you will not be too tired.” Su Bai smiled slightly, thinking that she would probably feel rather moved.

Yu Ying was stunned for a moment, then widened her pink eyes and said in shock, “Shaman, do you think we are not good enough? Have we not done something well? We will definitely correct it.”

The first thing Yu Ying thought was whether she had performed inadequately, otherwise why would the Shaman seek new people?

She instantly began reflecting on whether she had done something poorly before, wondering which moment had made the Shaman think this way.

“No, you have all performed very well. It is precisely because you have performed too well that I can see you all are somewhat tired, which is why I am arranging some new people for you.” Su Bai explained.

He had not expected her to think this way, and in an instant saw her previous demeanour again.

He had originally thought that Yu Ying had not been apprehensive for quite a long time, and had obviously become much livelier.

But unexpectedly, at this moment, she had reverted to her previous attitude. However, one could hardly blame her, as she was not a person with self-confidence.

“Shaman, we are not tired at all. We can still perform better. There is no need for new people.” Yu Ying was still rather worried about being replaced.

She had gradually become accustomed to the feeling of staying in the Yong’an Building. If she were replaced at this time, she would surely be devastated. Moreover, she had also become accustomed to being together with him, so she had never dared imagine such a day would come.

“Haha…” Su Bai laughed heartily, not having expected her to be so afraid. He comforted her, saying, “Do not worry. You will still continue following me. It is just that the people I wish to find will all be working outside and will not enter the living room.”

He could only quickly explain to Yu Ying, otherwise she would spend who knows how long in anxious speculation.

Yu Ying’s previously worried expression immediately stopped, or rather, it should be said she was stunned.

She continuously swayed her pink fox tail and asked, “Shaman, why do these people need to be outside?”

What Yu Ying did not understand was why, having recruited these people, he would have them stay outside. If they were not coming inside to work, then why recruit them?

“The matters inside here can be handled by you alone, and there is no need for other people. But, some outside work can be done by them. If I need you to do it, then when I suddenly wish to find someone to help with something, no one would be here to help me.”

Su Bai looked at her seriously and continued, “So, the people I recruit will mainly be responsible for some matters I assign them to do outside, or for doing some cleaning work.”

He explained rather thoroughly to Yu Ying, being concerned that she might misunderstand again.

“So that is how it is. I thought…” Yu Ying suddenly began to smile.

The large stone in Yu Ying’s heart instantly fell. As long as she knew these people were not replacing her, all was well.

“Don’t think too much. Come and see what still needs improvement,” Su Bai said warmly.

After all, he did not yet understand the people of this Tribe. He did not know how many could meet the conditions he had proposed, so he wanted to hear others’ opinions as well.

Yu Ying immediately grinned and walked over, asking, “Shaman, what conditions have you proposed?”

“Just some…” Su Bai recounted the conditions on the paper one by one. There were not many, just those few from before.

“There are many people who meet these conditions. There will surely be many people applying,” Yu Ying said without hesitation after listening.

These conditions seemed to have plenty of suitable people in the Tribe. One could say that for every ten people, two or three would be suitable.

“If that is so, then good. I was still worried whether these conditions might be too demanding,” Su Bai said with relief.

After all, the conditions specified requirements for diligence, height, age, and so forth, which were rather strict.

This was because they were being recruited to work in the Yong’an Building, not to casually perform some task, so these people’s backgrounds all needed to be thoroughly investigated.

The Yong’an Building contained many things that other Tribes did not possess, and many things that even the original members of the Flame Dragon Tribe did not know about. These things could not yet be known by other people.

Therefore, the recruited people must be tight-lipped and, moreover, must be trustworthy people of their own.

Otherwise, after having recruited these people, they would expose all these secrets.

“Shaman, please leave this matter to me. I know many people who all meet these conditions and will definitely be very loyal,” Yu Ying said confidently.

Yu Ying had nothing else, but she had particularly good relationships with people. Because she was rather kind, many people were willing to be friends with her.

Although her personality had been somewhat introverted before, it was precisely because of this that many people felt she was not scheming and were willing to be friendly towards her. Though, it was questionable if they were just sympathising with her due to how hard it was for her to express herself…

“Good, I shall leave this matter to you,” Su Bai nodded.
