Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1031: Chapter 1022: The Quagmire Called Wano Kuni

The most reliable door has to be the Rotom electronic door.

But ever since the password lock had a miraculous effect before, Queen began researching various bizarre door locks.

For example, the electric fingerprint lock, which electrocutes you if the fingerprint is correct; the correct method is to lift it up and unlock with a key.

Similarly, the safe that explodes if the password is correct requires you to insert the key reversed, using the cross-head on the back to fit into the special keyhole.

This large door is also a series product, it doesn’t have a lock—its only feature is being heavy.

The only way to open this door is by brute force; the palm print on the outside is just a decoy. The seemingly glossy palm print conceals hidden poisonous needles, containing paralyzing toxins extracted from Alola Muk.

If someone tries it carelessly, they’ll experience what it means to be utterly immobilized.

”I really don’t know what you’re thinking; could a normal person come up with a door like this?”

Queen’s invention cadre knows this, and Zeraora doesn’t understand why Queen always comes up with such abnormal devices.

”Out of desperation, I get it now. Those CP Mechanism guys are all mentally flawed. Since they like to overthink, let’s have them overthink a little more. The more they think, the more wrong they’ll be.”

Queen’s tone is filled with resentment, his bounty had some exaggeration, but the CP Mechanism’s self-created conclusions were also a significant factor.

Queen believes that if those guys hadn’t made wild guesses, he wouldn’t have ended up like this today. To counteract such whims, he chose this unconventional approach.

He even built a fake door that looks like a large door, but actually, it’s a wall.

All these materials were crafted using Diancie’s ability to create new types of materials, incredibly dense. Without a bit of Machamp, it’s not easy to open.

Even Queen himself uses Winch Green’s ability when opening such a door.

But if Yamato were to do it, opening this kind of door would be effortless for her. She might not manage a lock, but she can smash through a door.

However, the CP folks overestimated Queen’s intelligence, thinking this place had the same style of password and fingerprint locks as Vegapunk’s laboratory, diverting their attention wrongly.

The CP0 agent circled around and never found the correct entrance to the laboratory. Instead, he stumbled into Queen’s traps, eventually enveloped by the firepower net set by Queen, getting shredded under laser cannon and other firepower cover.

”Serves them right. What about the others? CP0 always acts in squads, there won’t be just one this time, right?”

Having seen death frequently, Queen found nothing cruel about it, he only felt a sense of relief. Besides, this experiment made him realize his firepower might not be strong enough, he should enlarge the weapon caliber a bit more.

More than that, he was curious about what happened to the other CP0 agents.

There wasn’t any sign of destruction in Wano Kuni, especially since Setsuna and Zeraora stayed here. Queen never thought an accident would occur here.

Excluding Zunisha, the Fur Race combat brigade wasn’t easy to deal with.

”The others were dealt with, all the recordings are here, if you’re interested, take your time to watch.”

Zeraora grabbed a cloak from the nearby hanger and left the laboratory, leaving Queen alone to continue watching the footage.

...

For his own life safety, Queen installed discreet, all-seeing camera devices in every possible monitored area. Those CP0 agents seemed hidden, but in reality, were already exposed.

As Queen guessed, these CP0 were indeed acting in squads, it’s just that the others didn’t end well either.

One encountered Perona and a Beartic-wearing combo; the Gothic-style girl and a plushy bear didn’t initially make him nervous, but he soon discovered the horror of this combination.

Negative Ghost had him kneel on the ground directly, experiencing an inner feeling of being nothing more than a protozoan.

Although he wasn’t bound by the power of this sentiment for long, in those few seconds of rigidity, he understood why Beartic-wearing was considered a dangerous Pokemon.

The plush-like fist had an explosive force unmatched to its appearance; the inner negativity made him instinctively abandon defense, constantly exposing himself to Beartic-wearing’s punches in an unguarded state.

He eventually managed to endure, but Negative Ghost pierced through again, repeating the previous scene, leading this CP0 to gradually lose, finally dragged into Udon’s prison by Beartic-wearing.

In the Hakumai monastery, the CP0 encountered the Pedro and Rami combo, similar to the outcome of Kuri’s CP0 but in a different manner.

Rami’s lethal toxin combined with Moon Lion Pedro pummeled him with impunity. Moreover, the toxin’s effects were far deadlier than Negative Ghost, and Pedro’s aggression left no chance for imprisonment, perishing under toxin and slashes.

After his eyes healed, Pedro completed his ”conversion”, decisively acting when needed.

This CP0 team comprised four members, now with two dead and one severely injured, while the last one infiltrated the Flower Capital, encountering the most unique fate.

....

Greninja stayed close to this CP0 all along, deliberately allowing him into the Flower Capital to test the current attitude of Wano Kuni’s people.

Clothes can be stolen, accents can be mimicked, hairstyles can be disguised, so this CP0 initially remained undiscovered until he started probing for information, alerting the local people.

Later, discovering he knew nothing about ID cards solidified him as an outsider.

At this point, the long-standing influence of the Hundred Beasts took effect.

The Hundred Beasts’ propaganda theory was simple: [We are here to change your lives, to bring you good days. If there’s an outsider, they only want to drag you back to poverty.]

Wano Kuni’s national condition is rather special; they have a unique admiration for the General, due to Kozuki Hiyori’s influence, so there is no issue of legitimacy with the Hundred Beasts. Things returned to the essence.

The ordinary civilians rarely care about who the ruler is; they only care if they can live a happy life. Whoever dares ruin this beautiful life will face their wrath.

These people aren’t strong but numerous enough to trap this CP0 in the quagmire called Wano Kuni.

Summoned by their cries, a large troop of samurais gathered here, forcing this CP0 to flee miserably.

He didn’t kill, not due to compassion, but because he couldn’t kill all the Flower Capital witnesses. Doing so would only delay his retreat.

Ultimately, Greninja didn’t take action, because Hyogoro blocked the CP0’s path.

”The hard-earned life in Wano Kuni cannot be destroyed by you guys, Flower One-Sword Style: Furious Radiance Blow!”
