Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1012: Chapter 1004: Exaggerated Bounties and Extra Schemes

”President! President! Calm down, quickly bring the tranquilizers!!”

At the headquarters of the World Economic News Agency, the journalists were once again in chaos because their president was acting up again.

Before the war at the summit began, Morgans had fallen into a manic state due to his anticipation of the upcoming grand war, so excited that he couldn’t sleep and ended up taking some sleeping pills.

But as the war at the summit began, a continuous flow of big news kept reaching Morgans’ ears, so the others brought him some sedatives to stabilize his emotions.

After the war ended, more major events became known to Morgans, and at this point, the side effects of the sleeping pills and sedatives appeared simultaneously, preventing Morgans from focusing on his work.

He simply took some stimulants; as the saying goes, ”medication shouldn’t be taken recklessly.”

After taking the stimulants, Morgans saw even more shocking news, which sent his nerves into a fully excited state; if his brain was considered an independent world, his cells inside were now dancing wildly, and with drugs.

”Will this work? The president became like this because he took too much medicine, and if we inject him...”

”What else can we do, or would you prefer to go talk to the president... Duck down!”

Tatatatata!

The group of journalists instantly lay down, while a string of bullets pierced through the glass, scattering the documents on the table, with Morgans laughing madly as he wildly fired a Gatling gun.

This was the news agency’s headquarters, but the world is too dangerous; as journalists, and also as one of the leaders in the underground world, it’s reasonable for Morgans to stash some firearms here.

Moreover, on this sea, wanting to be a journalist requires some skills, such as combat, hiding, tracking, and disguise, to gather big news; thus, Morgans’ subordinates were full of talents.

One journalist picked up the syringe of tranquilizers like a dart and managed to inject it into Morgans, halting his frenzied action.

Taking advantage of this moment, the other journalists quickly packed away all the weapons Morgans could reach, but in less than three minutes, Morgans stood up again.

”No... It’s not possible, the dose of that tranquilizer should be enough to put an elephant to sleep for a day...”

”Hey! Are you trying to kill the president? What were you thinking with that dose?”

”I was just worried it wouldn’t work, and it seems the dose was still too small...”

A few journalists rummaged through boxes and pulled out some ropes, attempting to restrain Morgans, but Morgans did not fall into madness this time.

”Everyone, start preparing articles for me! What are you standing around here for?”

”President... Are you okay now?”

”I am the big news Morgans! Before seeing this big news published, I won’t go down; now, start working immediately! Wait, who made holes in this? What if it damages the photos?”

Morgans picked up the file bag in front of him, which contained the drafts for the newspapers, now with several bullet holes; Morgans seemed to have forgotten what had happened earlier and instead questioned his journalists.

Seeing no one reply, he did not dwell further, instead looking at the wanted posters in front of him and letting out a strange laughter.

”These guys’ bounties... are really special...”

Governor of Hundred Beasts Pirates - Kaidou - Bounty: 5,511,100,000 Belly.

These dedicated photographers hadn’t rested even during the war; Kaidou’s photo was changed to the scene after his duel with Whitebeard during the war at the summit.

At that time, a hideous scar appeared on his chest, yet the smile on his face was unmistakable.

After defeating Whitebeard, Kaidou’s reputation as the strongest creature was firmly established, and his bounty naturally surpassed that of Whitebeard.

Ghost Princess - Yamato - Bounty: 2,863,000,000 Belly.

Yamato’s bounty increase wasn’t particularly large; it even included the factor of being Kaidou’s daughter, but although she’s Kaidou’s daughter, Yamato’s behavior isn’t particularly harmful externally.

This was determined by comparing her with other pirates, compared to them, Yamato is just like a well-behaved child.

Flame Disaster - King - Bounty: 2,300,000,000 Belly.

Flame Blood - Shaina - Bounty: 1,900,000,000 Belly.

King has recently been fighting the Navy quite a bit, and his bounty has been raised several times, while Shaina hasn’t caught up due to her personal style.

Dragon - Hydra - Bounty: 500,000,000 Belly.

As Kaidou’s mount, the price for the eight-headed dragon similarly rose sharply; this was one of the first batches of updated wanted posters by the Navy, with others still waiting for verification, and among these earliest wanted posters, two were particularly special.

Plague Disaster - Queen - Bounty: 3,200,000,000 Belly.

This time he wasn’t scapegoated; the World Government saw some things clearly, but pinned a label on Queen for influence issues, leading to his bounty increasing by only five hundred million.

This isn’t a small amount, but considering Queen, it’s already quite friendly.

Admittedly, the wanted poster still boldly has the characters -only-alive.

This title is not easy for Queen to remove.

Below Queen, Arceus’ wanted poster also broke convention.

Hundred Beasts Pirates Vice Captain

Celestial Punisher Arceus

Bounty: 6,016,000,000 Belly.

Arceus’ bounty immediately doubled, surpassing Kaidou’s bounty.

Even though the World Government did not want to verbally acknowledge it, they knew how terrifying this monster was, repelling an attack single-handedly, which was completely against the norm; no one in history with even the most outrageous abilities dared claim to achieve this.

Though not openly, they still used this method to remind the Navy below to be cautious of this monster’s strength.

Besides that, they also had additional plans, hoping the bounty might cause internal conflict within the Hundred Beasts.

Bounties have an unwritten rule: the leader of a faction is always the one with the highest bounty in that faction, whether it be the Revolutionary Army, gangs, or pirates, without exception.

No matter how formidable the subordinates are, their bounty will not surpass the leader.

Or rather, a strong person won’t willingly work under a weak one, so subordinates’ bounties can’t exceed their leader.

The World Government doesn’t believe that there are no conflicts between the two monsters of Hundred Beasts.

Now the vice captain’s bounty has surpassed the captain’s, surely an issue should arise; even though they know it’s unlikely, they still have a testing attitude in establishing this bounty.

Maybe this could stir up some resentment among the ordinary cadres of Hundred Beasts, sparking some animosity; if the Hundred Beasts could split because of this, it would certainly be a great benefit to the World Government.
