Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1006: Chapter 1000: Whitebeard’s Curtain Call, The New Era Named Hundred Beasts

Facing Coby, who was blocking his way, Yorki Muller’s final restraint kept him from directly cutting him down.

”Cowards should get out of the way, but those with courage, continue to fight with me!”

At this moment, voices of rescue reappeared in Coby’s mind.

”Major Yorki Muller, stop, go rescue the wounded instead, these ordinary pirates are not the main target of the war, sacrificing more soldiers for them is not worth it...”

”You’re shaking the military’s resolve.”

The bloodthirsty Yorki Muller kicked Coby aside, leaving him curled up in pain, while Yorki Muller rejoined the battle.

Meanwhile, Buggy, holding the broadcast Radio Snail, became the focus of the battlefield.

While others fought for their lives, Buggy took on the role of director and began filming repeatedly.

”Look! That... that was... a former crew member of the Pirate King, a man whom Red Hair Shanks called brother, even Whitebeard would compromise with him, he is our god! Captain Buggy!”

In an embarrassingly absurd flattery, Buggy entered the frame but couldn’t help sneezing.

”Damn, let’s do it again!”

Witnessing the unprofessional filming techniques and sky-high awkward acting, reporters from the Shampodi Islands snapped their pen barrels in anger. They didn’t want to see this clown putting on a show, they just wanted to know the war’s current state.

Eventually, it was Kuzan’s appearance that saved these reporters.

”Ice Age!”

The cold swept through, turning Buggy’s gang members into ice sculptures. Only Buggy, using the Chop-Chop Fruit, flew into the air, avoiding being frozen into blocks.

”Ao..Aokiji?!”

”I have no interest in you, Red Nose, but can you please hand over the thing in your hands? This war becomes more and more irritating.”

Shaina and King, along with Beckman, were tasked with finding the Radio Snail. The Navy wouldn’t depend entirely on pirates for this task, and Kuzan, who had stayed out of the battlefield’s center, received this order.

This was not a simple task; finding a pirate hiding for a livestream on a battlefield of hundreds of thousands was not easy. King and Shaina searched the skies for a long time and didn’t spot Buggy.

Fortunately for Kuzan, his luck was slightly better, as he found Buggy first.

He had little interest in Buggy, especially as Red Hair had already shown his stance.

A mere fifteen million Belly pirate wasn’t worth disturbing a war that was about to end, and Kuzan also spotted Beckman in the distance, whose gun barrel was aimed directly at his head; he had no intention of confronting Beckman right now.

At that moment, King’s figure flashed past Buggy, the final Image Radio Snail had shifted to King’s hands.

With the loss of the Radio Snail, Buggy’s presence was no longer important, and attention returned to the final battlefield, though Buggy received a new wave of admiration.

After the pirates defrosted, they believed Buggy sacrificed his chance of fame to save them, willingly handed over the Radio Snail, thus ”saving” them twice in succession, and became an irreplaceable savior in their hearts.

...

At the site of the battle between Whitebeard and Kaidou, as time passed, their fighting style shifted from skill-filled combat to sheer physical brawling.

Entering vibrational mode, Whitebeard concentrated all the power of the vibration at a single point, and with the characteristics of a quake, his punch achieved nearly true damage.

Even Kaidou, upon being hit by Whitebeard’s fist, would experience internal effects; no matter how strong scale armor and Armament were, they only shielded the surface, making it hard for simple defense to counter internal-penetrating attacks.

But Kaidou didn’t care; even as blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, his laughter didn’t diminish in the slightest, while Whitebeard suffered more severe injuries.

Kaidou hadn’t consumed the Quake-Quake Fruit, yet his fists weren’t weaker than Whitebeard’s. Whitebeard’s body couldn’t compare to Kaidou’s physique, and under Kaidou’s heavy blows, his white crescent beard was stained with a touch of crimson.

”Gura-lalala, Kaidou, neither of us wants to keep fighting here for days and nights, do we?”

Though Whitebeard’s stamina didn’t match Kaidou’s, he was still a monster beyond human, capable of fighting Kaidou for days in peak condition.

But this was Navy Headquarters; they didn’t need to worry about the battle’s aftermath but couldn’t engage in a days-long duel.

”I don’t care; I can handle more if they come.”

”....”

Kaidou’s response blocked Whitebeard’s next words; seeing Kaidou’s combat enthusiasm, Whitebeard realized his mistake and couldn’t fathom what was on Kaidou’s mind, so he voiced his thoughts.

”Enough, you’re not interested in such a battle either, one move, let’s decide the winner with one final blow, I’ve just comprehended something new.”

Whitebeard didn’t mind fighting for days, but his subordinates couldn’t. This war had taken a heavy toll on both sides; if they withdrew in time, many men could still recover with treatment, yet fighting for days and nights would doom them to certain death.
