Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1013: Chapter 1005: Kaidou’s New Ambition

Besides Kaidou’s photo being updated, Arceus’s photo was also replaced. Those photographers daring to be active on the battlefield are truly fearless.

The photo on Arceus’s Wanted Poster has now been changed to an image of him standing at the bow of the ship, neutralizing attacks.

However, it was not taken during the neutralization, but after the attack had ended, as the protective light screen around the Origin gradually faded away.

Previously, it wasn’t ignored, just unable to be captured.

While others were seeking cover, that photographer was frantically clicking the shutter, but his equipment was inadequate. Under strong light, the photos turned out blank, as if the lens cover was still on, making them unusable for the Wanted Poster.

Eventually, this was chosen as the new photo, even though the light screen obscured Arceus’s true appearance, the World Government didn’t care.

Updating the bounty was their final insistence; the Five Elders never believed any bounty hunter or pirate could handle Arceus. If these people truly could, they wouldn’t have to wait for Imu to awaken.

The only one with a slightly different style was Yamato, whose new photo happened to capture the moment she bit off Kuzan’s ice spear as a snack, making her seem rather cute.

”President, the accompanying Wanted Posters are almost compiled, but what should we use for tomorrow’s front page...?”

News is time-sensitive, if it drags on for days before release, it can’t be called news.

Normally any of these events alone would be considered big news, but now combined, the newspaper’s editors are unsure what to do.

”Which one to use? Use them all, of course. This time, let’s issue a special edition. Each of these pieces of news deserves a separate page, I really don’t know how to choose.”

Morgans looked at the news in his hand; apart from the mass breakout of convicts from Infinite Hell in the Impel Down, he had pretty much gathered all the highlights of this war, including the destruction of Judicial Island.

As for how this news came to be... well, it was sold by Spandam.

Not every major event has journalists nearby. To gather more news information, Morgans has always offered large bonuses to those providing sensational news.

Due to the deaths of Rob Lucci and Kaku, two elite agents, Spandam was quite affected. Thanks to Spandine’s efforts, he wasn’t dismissed and held accountable, but his financial situation turned bleak.

Regice’s primary aim wasn’t killing, so Spandam survived, and he sold photos of Judicial Island to Morgans in exchange for substantial rewards.

Under Morgans’s decision, the News Birds worked hard because this issue of the newspaper was five times the usual thickness, their carrying capacity had limits, and to deliver the papers, they had to make several trips.

With the activities of the News Birds and the efforts of various newspaper offices, information about the war at the top had been sent worldwide.

[Whitebeard’s final words, ONE PIECE truly exists!]

[World’s Strongest - Hundred Beasts Kaidou! Future Master of The Sea]

[Is the World Government’s Unknown Weapon a Risk to Lives?]

[Judicial Island Destroyed!]

This time, Morgans did not use exaggerated headlines; merely stating the facts was enough to capture the world’s attention.

The news about Judicial Island was somewhat special because Regice wasn’t issued a bounty, and the World Government couldn’t say what that iceberg really was.

They issued a bounty for the Eight-Headed Dragon because it was Kaidou’s mount, but faced with something whose status as a living being they couldn’t confirm, they truly didn’t know how to issue a bounty.

After all, this entity seemed more like a weapon than a creature. The World Government wouldn’t issue an extra bounty on a weapon, like Charlotte Linlin’s Zeus and Prometheus; such bounties are consolidated under the owner.

Moreover, the external explanation for Judicial Island was that it encountered an extreme cold current unseen in 800 years, hence its current state.

...

Shampodi Islands, on the Origin, the new Wanted Posters had already arrived there thanks to the News Birds.

After leaving Marinfanto, the crew of the Origin conveniently picked up Regice at Judicial Island.

The Icicle Plate had also returned to Arceus, and Regice’s power had considerably weakened.

When possessing the Icicle Plate, Regice had access to infinite energy, not needing to consider consumption for his actions.

But with the Plate’s return, Regice’s battles would consume his stamina, although this wouldn’t affect his prowess.

”Father, it’s sixty billion, incredible! This is the highest bounty I’ve ever seen.”

Admiring Arceus’s terrifying bounty, Yamato expressed genuine awe.

”Hahaha, those guys’ eyes finally served them well this time, even higher than mine, truly interesting.”

Kaidou felt no dissatisfaction, instead finding it funny that the World Government’s minds finally worked well for once. He didn’t care about this kind of thing; if it’s his ally, then a higher bounty means nothing, especially as Kaidou now had new thoughts.

”I wonder, that attack wasn’t your full power, was it?”

”No, why?”

”I’m still too weak; a couple of those attacks and I wouldn’t be able to withstand it.”

Kaidou recalled the previous attack, feeling a deep interest in its power. After defeating Whitebeard, Kaidou even felt a little lost, as opponents stronger than Whitebeard at his peak are scarce on this Sea.

Having beaten Whitebeard, it meant he would hardly find stronger opponents in the future, but the skyward attack gave Kaidou a new target.

”That attack... I need to find a way to counter it, then. I’ll make it my new goal.”

Shaking his neck, Kaidou made his decision.

”When we return, you shall give me special training for a period. No one else can unleash that kind of attack...”

”Wait a minute! Father, you’re strong enough already, you should rest more, don’t bother Father with this... right?”

Hearing Kaidou’s words, Yamato’s expression became extremely tense. If Kaidou mastered such an attack... Yamato couldn’t imagine the experience of suddenly being targeted by skyward assault while traveling abroad.

”Is that so? Maybe you have a point; it’s indeed not nice to trouble your Father.”

”That’s great...”

”Then we’ll start with you; you can be my sparring partner for a month when we return to Ghost Island.”

”Huh?”

Before Yamato finished speaking, Kaidou dragged her back into Hell.

”What? You don’t want to? Then I still...”

”No! Father, let me! Leave it to me!”

After a brief thought, Yamato realized a painful truth. If Arceus were to step in and Kaidou truly surpassed himself, she’d surely suffer. So she had to figure out how to prevent this, like stepping in herself.

Though she’d be tormented for a month, it would ensure better days afterward.

[Damn, this old dad tricked me again!]

With a smile on her face, Yamato’s mind was full of contrasting thoughts.

[Hahaha, this foolish girl is easily misled. I suggested her, but didn’t say I wouldn’t use Arceus afterward.]

First, warming up with Yamato for a month, then battle Arceus later, this was Kaidou’s idea. In terms of strategy, he was still ahead of Yamato.
