Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 701: Chapter 700: The Prototype of Green Blood and Peacekeeper

Ohara’s library contains too many precious documents. These documents also gave Vegapunk enormous help on the original timeline, and with Ohara being taken away, Vegapunk relied even more on the World Government.

The World Government, standing for eight hundred years, has its own foundation. Many things that have already disappeared externally, they still retain, including some documents.

As rulers of the world, many things are a piece of cake for them. Compared to the illegal acts of Ohara’s archaeologists, all their activities are legal. In some respects, this is akin to the difference between archaeology and grave-robbing.

Thus, there are many restrictions. Some secretive things that the World Government hopes to disappear, even Vegapunk cannot access.

It can only be completed through transactions. Some things, even if there are documents available, cannot be created by those without sufficient capabilities.

Vegapunk exchanged government service for more research funds and materials, and in the process, he created more of what the World Government needed.

...

On Punk Hazard Island, there hasn’t been a toxic gas leak incident yet, nor has there been a marshal struggle. It’s just an ordinary research island, with Vegapunk himself and Caesar currently residing there.

Strictly speaking, Vegapunk is a scientist affiliated with the Navy, but the World Government also has the right to intervene.

A team of CP0 agents arrived with new orders, having World Government identification. They passed through unobstructed until stopped at Vegapunk’s research area.

”The main body doesn’t have time for you. Just tell me whatever you need. You’d better hurry, because my time is quite tight as well.”

In the rest area, they met Desire York, one of Vegapunk’s clones, who replaces the other clones in resting and eating. She’s relatively the most ”leisurely” among the clones.

”Here are the materials you wanted before. We brought them all.”

The leading CP0 seemed accustomed to Vegapunk’s attitude, placing a briefcase in front of York.

”Just this?”

”This is the catalog; there’s more on the ship.”

As the words fell, the tightly closed mechanical door at the back of the rest area slowly opened with the sound of gears turning, and Vegapunk’s main body appeared, a man with a slightly peculiar appearance.

”Doctor, it seems you’re not that busy after all.”

”Just finished an experiment. Aren’t you guys, full of war machines, the reason I’m busy? The last project isn’t even complete, and you have something new already?”

Vegapunk’s tone wasn’t very friendly, and he didn’t hold a warm attitude towards the World Government either. Due to changes in the sea’s situation, he chose the Navy because his research required massive funding, which ordinary forces couldn’t provide.

Dragon once invited Vegapunk to join the Revolutionary Army, but he ultimately refused, saying the Revolutionary Army was too poor to satisfy his research needs. He could only maximize his value in a more suitable place.

”We are also for the peace of the sea. Here’s the information you need, Doctor, please take a look.”

Opening the file box, Vegapunk glanced over the text swiftly at an unreadable pace for ordinary people, yet he had already memorized most of it. He was a Paramecia-type: Brain-Brain Fruit user.

The Brain-Brain Fruit granted him unlimited brain capacity, and combined with his research talent, he gradually led this era in research. Remembering things was extremely easy for him, and he only needed to glance at textual material.

”Is this it? Where’s the stuff?”

”Doctor, you have to show us your previous research results first.”

At this time, the World Government had gained negotiation leverage. With the loss of Ohara’s documents, Vegapunk’s research progress was significantly delayed, hence he could only choose to compromise.

”Follow me; don’t touch anything unnecessarily.”

....

Under Vegapunk’s guidance, they entered another room. It contained numerous mechanical parts, and there was a screen displaying structure diagrams that these agents couldn’t understand.

These lines, when combined, formed the shape of Genesect.

Besides the giant weapons Emboar and Tyranitar, the war robot Genesect also caught their attention, even earlier than Emboar because it was evidently a product for mass-production.

For a force, mass-produced items are far more valuable than a single entity.

In terms of performance, Genesect was far inferior to Emboar.

As a security force, they rarely went out to battle but were still monitored by the World Government.

”It’s what you wanted, a combat robot capable of identifying pirate information and autonomous action.”

Vegapunk pressed a button beside him, subsequently activating a robot in another compartment, which then attacked the target marked as a pirate. The weapons were merely ordinary machine guns and flamethrowers, and it appeared quite simple in shape, representing the prototype of the Peacekeeper.

Compared to the full version of the Peacekeeper, this machine was rudimentary, with many studies still ongoing.

Several people reported what they saw upward, and after receiving positive feedback, they contacted the ship, ordering them to start transporting materials, followed by proposing new requests to Vegapunk regarding plans for giant weapons.

...

”What are you talking about? The human gigantification experiment has already been declared a failure, you know this, right? Isn’t Caesar handling this now? Besides, I’ve already said, what you want—like Logia-type abilities—is too difficult to achieve.”

”We know, but Doctor, you might want to take a look at this.”

The visual Radio Snail played the screen of Tyranitar, accompanied by analyzed text intelligence.

”Sandstorm... Laser...”

”This is a blood sample from Crocodile. Headquarter Admiral Borsalino will be responsible for security here for a future period, also cooperating with your research, Doctor.

If Queen can do it, then you have no reason not to, right?”

For the Seven Warlords of the Sea, the World Government has methods to collect their blood, convincing them with the pretense of health checks and registration. Nobody thought a bit of blood would have any impact, all complying with the World Government’s requirements.

This was a study proposed by Vegapunk long ago, which he named Green Blood, fundamentally a further exploration of the Bloodline Factor.

Through the blood of ability users, Green Blood can reproduce abilities in others, yet it’s still under research, far from mature. Although there are successful examples, there hasn’t been a successful Logia-type example.
