Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 750: Chapter 749: Awkward Dance Gigavolt Havoc

The plate was discovered by her and Iscariot, and after tailing for so long, she certainly wouldn’t let her efforts go unrewarded. The shopping card and matters concerning Kikunojo were just additional options, but strength was the fundamental issue.

That gem was the source of her power, just like Dynamax Power and Mega Power; it was also one of the important ways to enhance Pokemon Abilities.

This isn’t the world of Pokemon; Pokemon Ability Users don’t need to rely on Trainers. People like Shaina, whose powers have fused into their bloodlines, can achieve Mega Evolution solely with their will.

The Gyarados Queen, Nereus, is a bit different. The power hasn’t fully integrated into her body but resides in the Mega Stone atop her crown.

This mainly depends on talent. Only those with sufficient talent can completely assimilate that power into their bodies; otherwise, they still need external aids, like Drake.

An orange crystal hangs on the necklace at her chest, with a symbol resembling lightning inside.

This item is called a Z-Crystal, and it also contains strong power. With the energy it provides, the user can unleash a powerful Z Move.

Although it loses some additional effects, like restricting the opponent’s speed, attack-type Z Moves have significantly greater power compared to regular moves. If the power is immense enough, sheer force can overwhelm the adversary.

Z Moves are divided into two types: the first is a general Z Move associated with the attribute, suitable for any compatible Pokemon to learn. The second is the exclusive move for certain Pokemon, and Drake belongs to the former.

The move’s power far exceeds the Pokemon’s ordinary moves, but it burdens the user tremendously, so it can only be used once in a short time.

”I must say, you are really tough. Taking so many attacks and still standing, the physique of the Fishman Race is truly impressive,”

During the battle with Sasaki, Drake found herself in a situation similar to Elizabeth’s, except Sasaki’s defense wasn’t as strong. Although the damage wasn’t clear, the effect was still significant.

But fighting like this was too dragging, so she wanted to switch to a quicker approach.

”What are you doing?”

In this battle, Sasaki saw many strange things, and Drake’s current actions also puzzled him. He saw her left hand high, right hand low, each pointing diagonally to the sky and ground.

Her body trembled slightly. Humans usually refer to this as dance, but in this context... it was reasonable.

For ordinary members, Sword Dance was the most common enhancement skill. Ordinary members who learned Sword Dance were not rare, and those individuals could form a small dance troupe.

If it were other forces, dancing on the battlefield might just perform a Spiritual Attack, aiming to attract attention, but in Hundred Beasts, it signified a rise in strength.

Seeing Drake start dancing, Sasaki didn’t remain standing stupidly but launched his own offense, integrating the power of Rush into his body, charging towards Drake like a locomotive.

”Such impatience. I didn’t really want to use this move either; the preparation for it is quite embarrassing.”

Although Z Moves consume a lot, the power they contain lives up to this expenditure. The only downside is the awkward dance required before releasing them.

The specific posture is how to activate the power of the Z-Crystal, and Drake’s movements were for the Electric Attribute Z Move, whose embarrassment level is already considered low.

As her motions concluded, a powerful Power of Thunder burst from the necklace. The body in Luxray state was enveloped by electricity, and then a large amount of electricity gathered at her right arm.

Crackle, crackle....

The crackling of thunder sounded like a frenzy of birds. The dazzling electric light made Sasaki squint, but he didn’t stop. Instead, he charged towards the brightest spot aiming at the source of the light.

Lacking long-range attacks, he wanted to interrupt Drake’s charge-up before she could release her attack, but even though his sprinting speed was fast, it was still inferior to the gathered electricity.

”Gigavolt Havoc!”

The electric power finally gathered at her right fist, and with a roaring sound, a beam of lightning shot from Drake’s right arm. Like a Light Grid Cannon, the thunderous beam was formidable. The ground immediately cracked under the high-voltage electricity, and many earth and rocks were then swept up.

The Gigavolt Havoc, condensed with all of Drake’s electricity, had already been launched. The metal hue on Bastiodon’s surface continually gleamed as Sasaki bolstered his defense during the charge.

Dodging was no longer possible. If he tried to evade now, he’d just get hit for nothing. It was better to gamble with everything, and see if his shield was harder, or if the opponent’s attack was stronger.

Boom!

Centered around Sasaki, black smoke from the lightning explosion shot into the sky. The no-damage law of smoke didn’t apply this time. After the smoke cleared, Sasaki’s once-mighty body was lying on the ground.

Different enhancement methods each have their pros and cons. In terms of single burst power, Z Moves that almost exhaust all stamina are far more powerful than Mega or Dynamax, especially against heavy enemies.

”Done.”

Drake shook her wrist, easing the soreness in her muscles a bit. The power of a Z Move isn’t static; fundamentally, it’s a powerful strike converted from the original Attribute Skills through the Z-Crystal.

Previously, during trials, Drake only used skills with minor power; the strongest strike was only used in the recent battle.

....

Not long after, at the medical center, some changes occurred here. Ranking battles aren’t indefinitely ongoing, and at this time, they were nearing the end. Many who had confirmed their positions were waiting here.

It even had the feeling of a half-retired officials’ meet-up.

”Elizabeth, aren’t you going to challenge it again? Position 16 is a bit low, isn’t it?”

”Doesn’t matter. Olga doesn’t care about that, plus don’t you think finding out that 16 is stronger than 11 would be terrifying?”

”You did pick up quite a bit of Olga’s sense of mischief, but how few are left among those in front? If we don’t count Setsuna and Mandfeish, it’s been quite a reshuffle. I guess Scotch won’t win either.”

”Hmm, although young, Pei is a bad match for him.”

They chatted about the results one after another, and Drake’s appearance interrupted the previous topic.

”Yo, Drake, as someone climbing up among us veterans, are you considering treating us to something?”

Emmalyn hooked an arm over Drake’s shoulder, feeling the urge to splurge but forgot an essential detail.

”Treat? No problem, today’s expenses are on me, but can someone lend me some money first?”
