Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 740: Chapter 739: Inheritance and Ambition

She didn’t do anything special just now, she just had a long phone chat with Zeraora. She knows very well the situation with her two children.

On this ship, not only are there Mightyena partnered with the patrol team, but also many Pokemon like Mareanie, Combee, Bounsweet, Machoke, and Geodude.

In this environment, these two little ones are bound to stir up some trouble. That’s why she specifically asked Bepo to keep an eye on them. As for Perona, it’s daytime now, and she’s catching up on her sleep, having rested comfortably throughout the journey.

”Huh? Duke, but the young master and miss asked me to get them something to drink...”

”You... never mind, who exactly did they learn it from...”

”I’m sorry....”

”Stop apologizing already, I’ve said it’s fine..”

”Yes.. I’m sorry...”

Setsuna patted her head and gave up resisting. At this moment, she really wanted to ask her past self from over ten years ago why she was so fixated on the Duke then. With two biological kids and Bepo, she already has a headache—managing the entire Fur Race seems terrifying even in thought.

”No, the seven-year mark isn’t far off, I need to come up with a new plan, I wonder if the trick of not writing a date will work...”

”What are you mumbling about?”

Rin appeared behind Setsuna and curiously asked while looking at her mystical daughter.

”Huh? It’s nothing, just some small matters. But Mom, why do you think Miaona and Wolf have this personality?”

”You’re asking me? Didn’t they completely inherit that from you? Not a bit of Zeraora’s calmness, but they’ve learned all your bad habits thoroughly...”

”I’m not that hopeless...”

”True, you were worse than the two of them back in the day; at least they don’t suddenly run away from home for no reason.”

With just a few sentences, Setsuna successfully shifted the focus of criticism onto herself. Even if she is now Zoa’s nominal Duke, the only Aura King able to communicate with the Zou Elephant in a millennium, the Fur Race’s number one warrior, in Rin’s eyes, she is still just that disobedient child.

Miaona and Wolf rode two Mightyenas and ran freely across the beach. Even if they accidentally fell, they could grab their tails and climb back up again. The appearance of these two Pokemon also caught the attention of the island’s pirates.

”Such beautiful dogs; Captain, let’s get two when we go back.”

”Pfft!”

”Hahaha, did you hear what that guy just said? He actually wants to get two Mightyenas... I can’t take it, today’s jokes are just too funny.”

”Hey hey, don’t be like that, he just doesn’t know any better, don’t mock him like that.”

The overall quality of pirates as a group isn’t high, but under the suppression of absolute power, they would behave unusually well. However, when facing someone less experienced or powerful than themselves, most aren’t too friendly.

”Those are Pokemon, great creations of Lord Arceus; you can’t just get them by wishing for them. Either Lord Arceus grants them to you or you earn their recognition yourself, so stop saying such silly things.”

A more laid-back pirate explained the situation to an ordinary member of the Affiliated Pirate Group, letting him understand part of the Hundred Beasts’ internal affairs. He was just brought here by his captain to gain experience, with little knowledge of these things before this.

”They seem... rather friendly?”

”Forget it, if you had their parents, they’d be friendly to you too. This path isn’t going to work for you, work hard on your own.”

Because their biological father is Zeraora, their starting point is already significantly higher than most of these ordinary pirates. To catch up with them in any aspect, the effort and sweat you’ll need to pour in isn’t just a little bit.

The Fur Race had just emerged not long ago when the Sea also stirred up waves. A Gyarados surfaced, and a Mandfeish leaped out from the midst, only this time with an extra person accompanying them. In Rushaka’s arms, a little one was curiously examining the world.

Though possessing a human appearance, the marks on her neck already indicated her lineage—a half-Mermaid.

As NO.1 among the Numberers, he and the current NO.0 share a commonality: a complete family. Apart from the ultimate wish for retirement that hasn’t been realized, his life has been quite fulfilled.

...

Having discovered that his dear elder brother had also arrived, Jack, who had long been here, came over and subsequently noticed this freshly born life.

”Brother Mandfeish, is this... your child?”

Jack curiously came over, looking at the little one not much bigger than an Alcremie, he asked slightly in awe.

”Yes, hadn’t been born long ago; you’ve been busy with tasks lately, so I hadn’t mentioned it to you. See, isn’t she cute?”

”Indeed, she is...”

Having affirmed this, Jack fell silent, for he was truly not skilled in handling these situations. Fortunately, Mandfeish noticed this issue and broke the silence afterwards.

”Hasn’t it started yet? I should be the last one to arrive, right?”

”Not too sure, the main problem is that Yamato hasn’t arrived yet; previously, she went out to take refuge and has been gone for a while.”

Shortly after this reply, a new ship emerged on the horizon, with the Pokemon Ship going full throttle, charging towards here at the speed of a jet vessel. At the same moment, a massive tremor occurred on the island.

The entire island seemed to come alive, and amidst the significant shaking, numerous stone pillars unexpectedly arose from the beach, elevating everyone to the top of the island like a lift platform. The island’s vegetation also grew frenetically, eventually forming a massive platform above.

”This is Lord Arceus’s handiwork, isn’t it? What a grand stage indeed. Jack, are you ready for it? If you want to become the new disaster, Setsuna and I are your opponents to beat.”

Gazing at the dozens of meters tall stone pillars, veteran Mandfeish could tell who was behind everything and marveled somewhat at these growing new talents, especially his former merman little brother, who has now forged his path in defensive battles.

”I’ve been preparing all along, though... maybe next time, this time I aim for NO.2.”

Their talent is greater and they’re younger, but they lack the accumulation of time. With time, these new generations will unleash even stronger combat power. Among the current generation, the youngest Page One is only 13, yet his strength has surpassed many veterans.

In about five years, this new generation will all come of age; by then, the older cadres will still be in their prime, and Yamato will continue to grow. By then, the Hundred Beasts can be said to be the fully-formed Hundred Beasts.

”That’s quite a leap, so make sure you work hard. I won’t hold back then.”

”Don’t worry, I shall defeat you head-on, Brother Mandfeish.”

At the same time, a massive projection created by Ann appeared in the sky, and with the loudspeaker broadcasting, this competition began its inaugural moment.
