Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 747: Chapter 746: As Everyone Knows, Getting Beaten Up Makes You Stronger

Listening to Iscariot’s words, Who’s-Who hesitated for a moment. His faith was inherently shaky, and he was a pragmatist.

During his time in prison, upon hearing the legends of Nika, he had actually prayed to Nika, though it proved futile. After escaping, he abandoned faith altogether and joined the Hundred Beasts merely for survival.

Regardless of his reasons for defecting, he was a blemish in the CP Organization, but he found a suitable haven, and his outdated information wasn’t worth the World Government dispatching personnel for him.

In this regard, Who’s-Who’s value was even less than Queen’s, so he wasn’t as constrained. After finding his backing, he could move freely outside.

But this didn’t mean the World Government would let him go. They wouldn’t specifically dispatch personnel, but given the chance, they would still choose to eliminate him.

So Who’s-Who also pursued strength, as this was the best means of survival. No matter how powerful an ally, it couldn’t replace the importance of one’s strength.

A mere prison guard under suitable conditions could affect Who’s-Who’s faith; let alone the professionals of Wano Kuni.

Under Misu’s influence, Who’s-Who received a baptism of faith and witnessed the pragmatic nature of the Arceus Sect.

Although he wasn’t a fanatic, he still yearned for more status. After all, apart from receiving more rewards from Arceus, higher-level officials also held more authority.

Previously, Iscariot challenged him, but now it’s his turn to challenge others.

He didn’t consider aiming for the NO.0 and NO.1 positions. Although those aren’t of disaster level strength, in full fire mode, their combat power is not less than the current disasters.

So his thought process was completely different from Jack’s. He only aimed to climb upwards step by step.

Iscariot seemed to have already reached her limit. Even though her injuries had healed considerably, she was not continuing to challenge upwards, only waiting for potential challengers.

Who’s-Who found his new opponent - Sasaki.

He was simply a passionate fan of Kaidou, only admiring Kaidou. Although people affiliated with Arceus didn’t quite like him, they didn’t target him either, giving him what he deserved and what he wanted.

Currently, his workplace was still the Udon Quarry. It wasn’t that anyone restricted him, but he personally applied to stay there, honing his strength through the Pokemon at the quarry.

Over the years, he even developed a bond with Aggron, transforming from a mere training target to a relationship akin to brothers.

In collisions with those massive Pokemon, Sasaki constantly enhanced his own strength.

As known, in the Hundred Beasts Pirates, getting beaten was an important method for getting stronger. The high-level officials looked glamorous now, but when young, every one of them underwent ”training” under different people.

After joining the Hundred Beasts, Sasaki eventually traveled this irreversible path.

Finally, relying on the capabilities of the Bastiodon, he reached a single-digit rank.

....

The chosen ground was also mountainous, but Who’s-Who experienced a completely different combat style.

Previously, Iscariot never took his attacks head-on, except for that one nearly suicidal move at the end.

Thinking back, even Who’s-Who finds it hard to accept Iscariot’s reckless method. If it weren’t in the arena, the best result of her move would be to injure the enemy at the cost of great self-harm.

In the state of high temperature overload, her steel shell became rather fragile, and at close range, the Hyper Beam detonated, rendering both arms temporarily useless in combat.

If that move could topple the enemy, fine, but if the enemy still had mobility, it could be a significant problem.

Who’s-Who absolutely disliked this method that could only be used in an arena because he wouldn’t want to sacrifice himself for a mission objective.

But now, faced with such a situation again, he would have to fight hard as he had no retreat.

Knowing that secret, if he fell into the hands of the World Government again, the outcome wouldn’t be good.

Having antagonized both sides of the law, surviving on this sea would be challenging; as for living in seclusion, he didn’t want to live a poor and laborious life. Despite the hardships of an agent’s life, he was used to it with no lack of material comfort.

”You... Are you looking down on me?!”

BANG!

With a loud boom, Sasaki in Bastiodon form raised his forelimb and stomped towards Who’s-Who. During the fight, the opponent was distracted, which was clearly an insult.

The ground cracked inch by inch, but Who’s-Who, snapping back to reality, still managed to dodge the attack.

”Fishmen, are they all so... straightforward?”

Sasaki’s combat style now resembled Jack’s, relying on his formidable defense and brute force to battle, except he wasn’t as strong as Jack nor could he match Jack’s defense.

Queen’s Tropius still retained its original ”second brain,” allowing him to complete the Brachiosaurus launcher, the Brachiosaurus Serpent, a series of outrageous self-modifications.

But Arceus only preserved the triceratops horn on Bastiodon, giving him more means to attack, though the bone plate once protecting the neck was gone.

Without that bone plate, he couldn’t perform those bizarre Heliceratops maneuvers.

Who’s-Who held some prejudice against the Fishman Race; CP agents are selected from young children, as that stage allows for better shaping.

In his previous education, the history of the Fishman Race was noted as one of servitude.

In his heart, fishmen were somewhat inferior; during the original timeline’s Ghost Island war, he also looked down upon Jinbe’s race.

Initially, he wanted to describe Sasaki’s actions as brainless but reconsidered and held back.

Jack, Sasaki, Rushaka, and Mandfeish’s daughter, quite a few of the Fishman Race and Mermaid Race, had joined or were related to the Hundred Beasts. Mandfeish had even taken on the appearance of a fishman.

Saying such things might be fine facing enemies, but if said in front of allies, he’d likely suffer later.

”Is it useful? If you’re capable, stop dodging! Heliceratops Stomp!”

Most Zoan-type Ability Users preferred the Human-Beast Form. Sasaki was different; he favored fighting in Beast Form. After his stomp landed on empty ground, his body shone with a metallic luster, further enhancing his defenses with Iron Defense. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

And then, the dragon horn on his forehead covered in Haki, aimed like a razor-sharp blade at Who’s-Who and charged. Just moments ago his opponent was an agile warrior, now it turned into a raging bull, a bull with incredibly high defense.

Seeing his Fang Gun blocked by the opponent’s shield-like body, Who’s-Who pulled out his weapon from his waist. He had to change his combat style...
