Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 749: Chapter 748: The Pinnacle of Steel – Steel Beam

Since Jack wanted to destroy this venue, she let Jack wreck it, relying on traps and ambushes to gradually wear down the opponent’s stamina, all in preparation for this final blow. Her stamina couldn’t maintain this state for long, nor were there many opportunities for attack.

Furthermore, Gigantamax would result in an oversized figure, which wasn’t very wise for a sniper and assassin to expose in front of the public eye. This meant she herself had become a target, so there was only one chance for attack.

The G-Max Hydrosnipe almost set off a small-scale tsunami, and the water flow that reached other arenas even changed some battle situations, like forcing the Armadillo guy who was digging a hole to come out.

As for why the range of the sniper was so large, this is actually quite reasonable.

The definition of sniping: single shot, long-range, and powerful.

According to weapon analysis, single-soldier missiles can also be used as sniper rifles, although the range is a bit larger, but it’s still acceptable, considering some rocket launchers have a range error up to 1,700 kilometers.

In the waves, Jack stood up again, only now his body had acquired quite a few menacing cracks. Even Steel Body couldn’t withstand this strongest blow.

The attack from the G-Max Hydrosnipe successfully broke through Jack’s defense, but it didn’t make him lose his combat capability.

His identity as a member of the Fishman Race helped him a lot; if it weren’t for being able to breathe underwater, the explosive water flow just now would have suffocated him into unconsciousness. Furthermore, Fishman Jujutsu training helped him absorb part of the attack’s force.

This is already the limit of his training. Wanting to throw back the G-Max Hydrosnipe, a normal person can’t do such a thing.

But now, the steel on Jack’s body had almost entered a melting state and was gradually concentrating towards the front end of his trunk.

”I’ve found you now.”

This melting wasn’t caused by Elizabeth’s influence, but was Jack’s own choice.

In the previous battle, Jack wasn’t simply being worn down; Elizabeth likewise was affected. Originally, she could delay a bit longer, but if she continued, she wouldn’t have the stamina for this final strike.

Previously, Jack didn’t realize those were traps, he was just recklessly rushing forward. Even though he was tricked, he still decided to charge all the way.

The steel on his body was the source of his proud defense power, and this blow was his strongest long-range attack, acquired by sacrificing his own defense.

”Steel Beam!”

Steel Beam is one of the most powerful moves of the Steel Attribute, but it damages the enemy a thousand while hurting oneself eight hundred.

The user will merge their steel into the beam, exerting its maximum power. However, the steel is part of a Steel-type Pokemon’s body, which would cause great harm to oneself. After the battle ends, a good period of rest is required.

Elizabeth’s Gigantamax revealed her position, giving Jack an opportunity. He was not unfamiliar with Elizabeth; by Elizabeth’s limits, she should be able to shoot three times.

If he didn’t launch a counterattack now and let Elizabeth shoot again, he couldn’t take it. His battle style was reckless, and since it had to be reckless, he might as well charge all the way.

Elizabeth wasn’t in great shape either. After this attack, either Elizabeth falls, or he does.

After Gigantamax, Elizabeth was no longer difficult to capture. Her choice to Gigantamax was also well-considered; if not done, it would just gradually wear down stamina. In a pure endurance competition, she definitely wasn’t Jack’s match, so she could only find a chance for a fatal blow.

Unfortunately, Jack had already grown. The steel torrent from Steel Beam swept through, and the longest-lasting match finally came to a close.

”Well, let me congratulate little brother Jack, he successfully defeated NO.2! This is also the first time the Numberer ranked among the top three was defeated! But I don’t want to cheer for him!”

At the end, Queen showed a rather scornful expression, promptly reaching out to pull off a piece of metal sheet from himself.

Jack smoothly completed his goal, temporarily staying at the medical station after his injuries were treated, but Elizabeth also didn’t leave.

”Aren’t you going to seize other positions?”

”No need, the difference isn’t that big anyway. I spend most of my time beside Olga, this number doesn’t hold much significance.”

Elizabeth accepted the number left by Jack, without continuing to challenge others.

Except for Setsuna and Mandfeish, the single-digit Numberer almost saw a major reshuffle; many people’s ranks fell downward, except for one person - Drake. Her rank instead moved up in this battle.

Now she is facing Sasaki’s challenge.

.....

”Monster, these guys.....are scarier than before.”

The Flower Capital, General’s Palace, same as the footage broadcast by Rotom, the expressions of the Kozuki retainers’ remnants were quite solemn. Not only did they witness Kaidou growing stronger, they even saw the history of the Hundred Beasts developing before their eyes.

They weren’t familiar with the external environment of the Hundred Beasts, but just looking at Wano Kuni, they can spot some issues.

”Kiku, that woman...seems to have always been interested in you, hasn’t she?”

Looking at Drake on the screen, Denjiro suddenly turned to Kiku beside him.

”Ah... maybe.. that’s the case.”

”Maybe you should cooperate with her a bit? Perhaps this could allow you to gather more information.”

”This...this isn’t good...”

Kikunojo’s personality is overly gentle, even knowing Kanjuro was an undercover, he still couldn’t bring himself to strike ruthlessly. While facing Drake’s various teases and receiving the special care in daily life, he was truly hesitant about gaining some small conveniences during investigation.

”Yes, it’s still too early now, it’s better not to do anything unnecessary.”

Denjiro misunderstood Kikunojo’s meaning, thinking he meant the timing wasn’t right. Kikunojo didn’t deliberately mention this matter, and the topic was temporarily shelved as a result, as they continued to observe the battle situation.

Even though they are the enemy, they still need to understand the enemy’s situation.

...

”You, you are really tough.”

Shaking her wrist, Drake seemed to understand Elizabeth and Who’s-Who’s feelings; facing such high-defense opponents, fighting wasn’t quite enjoyable.

”To be closer to big brother Kaidou, this is indispensable, sorry to disturb you.”

Scratching twice on the ground mid-air, Sasaki prepared for another rush. Drake’s attack power was stronger than Who’s-Who, but not yet a deadly threat to him.

”If you can achieve it, I wouldn’t mind, but you know, the rank difference leads to a significant wage gap.”

Drake reached into her bosom to retrieve a gem hanging on her necklace, then began to assume a slightly odd posture...
