Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 704: Chapter 703: Insights and the Reappearance of Yamata no Orochi

”Lady Ghost Princess, I think that might not be genuine goodwill...”

”Ah? These are the people who’ve voluntarily sent us supplies in so many days, and aren’t they from the BIG MOM Pirates? I remember our relationship is quite decent.”

”Yes, that’s why they’re doing this...”

Speed didn’t know what to say; this was the most bizarre experience of their sailing days. Within the sea regions of the New World, besides the honest pirates, there are also the three great Sea Emperors, and many pirates under the BIG MOM Pirates also have to plunder supplies.

It’s just that they don’t do it within BIG MOM’s Tottland Sea Region. When they were normally traveling the sea earlier, they were attacked by that pirate ship. Because their ship wasn’t big, that ship didn’t fire its cannons but opted for boarding combat.

However, as soon as they came alongside and hadn’t thrown their grappling hooks yet, they saw clearly who was on the ship, and thus their movements immediately stiffened.

The Hundred Beasts and BIG MOM were no strangers to each other, and they knew a lot about each other’s officers. Not to mention, the person on the ship was Kaidou’s daughter, unlike BIG MOM Pirates with many children, Hundred Beasts had only this one.

Moreover, according to the common knowledge among BIG MOM Pirates, the captain’s children are usually of high status and generally very strong.

In their mindset, if someone tries to hijack their ship, regardless of the opponent’s status, as long as they can win, they’d certainly slay the opponent first; the aftermath would be handled later.

Now, they’ve encountered someone absolutely undefeatable, a monster that only the kingdom’s ministers can deal with.

Fortunately, they hadn’t made a move yet, so someone on the ship quickly changed their behavior to a sea rescue mission, generously offering all their supplies to Yamato.

Under their ”sincere” attitude, this incident was brushed off, which led Yamato to think there might be good people out there.

”Let’s wait a bit more; this is the gateway for pirates entering the New World. With some patience, we’ll find the right target.”

Staring at the empty sea surface, Yamato suddenly remembered something; if she wasn’t mistaken, Ulti and Page One had done similar things when they went out before, seemingly even acting as bait.

They hadn’t mentioned the specifics; Page One would rather die than say what had happened that day, while Ulti seemed to keep it as a little secret. But Yamato thought this could be inferred.

”Anyone willing to act as bait?”

Glancing at the three beside her, Yamato decided to release a bait; she found her own notoriety outside was quite high, making her too conspicuous as bait.

”I am a Devil Fruit user, not suitable for The Sea.”

”I need to helm the ship; it’s still somewhat old and requires constant attention.”

Speed and Sorlithia consecutively gave their reasons. Here, being bait wasn’t particularly dangerous, but unusual things might happen halfway. Yamato’s strength was sufficient to ensure their safety, but only regarding the outcome.

The process wasn’t guaranteed. With a total of four people on board, only Mizerka was left, who had no excuses to avoid becoming Yamato’s ”bait.”

Yamato succeeded, and after wasting another day, a group of kind pirates appeared again, providing enough supplies for them to return to Wano Kuni, but they weren’t as lucky as the BIG MOM Pirates.

Due to opting to fire their cannons, their dreams were utterly shattered within less than a month of entering the New World.

...

Ten days past the scheduled time, Yamato and the others with the commemorative ship successfully returned to Wano Kuni. She realized the importance of Hundred Beasts’ logistics.

”Happy?”

”Just a little mishap; if not for that storm, I would’ve been back much earlier.”

In the bathhouse on Ghost Island, Yamato was comfortably soaking in the hot spring water. The previous ship allowed showers but had no bathing facilities. At this moment, she was soaking in hot water, with a Blissey assisting her with her hair.

A small boat with prepared drinks and snacks floated on the water, a stark contrast to days before.

After getting ready, Yamato changed into fresh clothes and went to discuss her experiences from this voyage with Arceus.

”Felt the difference?”

”Yes, without logistic support, life out there is really tough.”

”Any new plans?”

”Hmm...get stronger and soon defeat that old man father of mine, the future of Hundred Beasts shouldn’t be like those trash on The Sea, there should be a more appropriate way for us.”

This trip let her witness the hardships of the outside world, leading to some changes in her thinking, though only seeing the immediate; compared to her extremely idealistic previous thoughts, it was a considerable progress.

For this answer, Kaidou was the happier person.

Even if Yamato’s goal was to defeat him, as long as she continued down the path of getting stronger, he could accept it.

...

Elsewhere, in the Flower Capital of Wano Kuni, music and dancing were flourishing, showing no trace of the battles from years ago, inhabitants enjoyed a decent quality of life, and residents of the Flower Capital were the higher-income class of Wano Kuni, relatively richer than ordinary people.

Only the streets and sky had more Pokemon and some animals with Pokemon lineage, like the descendants of Growlithe.

Today, Growlithe wasn’t staying in the kennel but wandering outside, surveying its ”realm.”

At the moment, it was darting around the bushes, searching for things that piqued its interest.

After sliding down a hillside, Growlithe discovered a strange fruit on the ground. The fruit looked like a pineapple, with several symmetrical leaves extending around the top, the ends of the leaves forming triangular shapes reminiscent of multiple snake heads.

The outer skin of the fruit had a scaley pattern. Looking at this odd item, Growlithe grabbed it and returned home, aware, due to its enhanced intelligence after evolving from Growlithe, that its owner was also in search of such things.

”Woof!”

Kojiro wasn’t home, but Growlithe dialed the Radio Snail placed in the kennel and successfully contacted Kojiro.

Upon confirming the discovery of a new Devil Fruit, Kojiro directly handed it over, after circulating through hands, the fruit finally reached Queen for identifying the specific type.

Through comparison, Queen quickly identified the fruit’s type.

It was Kaidou’s favorite Zoan, and quite a rare Mythical type at that, the Snake-Snake Fruit·Mythical·Yamata no Orochi Form. After Orochi’s death over ten years ago, this fruit was found again by someone in Wano Kuni.
