The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Yesterday, just after finishing the three-turn feast, now doing it all over again is a bit troublesome for Fu Yu in terms of cooking, but everything else is fine.

He cooked dish after dish.

After the tea feast was served and the wine feast was halfway done, everyone else in the kitchen had completed their tasks.

Since the guests in the front hall hadn’t left, they couldn’t leave either, so they gathered around to watch Fu Yu cook.

From the moment they stood by the kitchen counter, none of them moved an inch, each one intensely focused on Fu Yu’s swift cooking.

Watching him make garnishes, watching him flip the wok, watching him do the final plating.

The apprentices watched with great interest, not daring to make a sound, but inwardly full of admiration.

”Look at his wok-flipping skills, so cool!”

”Wow, that’s how plating can be done? So beautiful! This technique is amazing!”

”Hey, what kind of soup is this? It smells so good, I’m starving, when do we get to eat?”

The senior chefs and Zhang Zhen focused intently, their expressions especially serious.

Although there was no verbal exchange, their thoughts curiously aligned.

”As expected of the chef personally chosen by the second boss, the skills, the culinary artistry, incredible!”

This time, it took Fu Yu two hours and twenty minutes to complete the whole set of the three-turn feast.

Only when the last plate of minced dumplings was taken away did Fu Yu breathe a sigh of relief.

Seeing that it was already past seven o’clock, Zhang Zhen suggested, ”How about we make something to eat tonight, since Chef Fu is here, I suggest we have those two roast ducks, how about it?”

The roast ducks were left over from the day because a customer suddenly decided to cancel the order for the two dishes.

Since the customer didn’t mind the cost, the leftover ducks were a benefit for the kitchen staff.

They went and got some spring pancakes, sliced some scallions and cucumber, and wrapped them with sweet flour paste, dividing the two roast ducks completely.

Fu Yu found the food delicious as well.

The roast duck at the music restaurant was so tasty, even reheated, it was still very good!

...

Gu Yunwu was handling two sets of orders and hadn’t finished when the ordering staff brought another order.

An order from his regular customer.

Frantically, he managed to have all the dishes plated and served for three tables, and it was already 9:30 PM.

Standing from morning till night, and since Yao Yihang had been sent to assist Zhao Meng, he held down the fort by himself, feeling both tired and sleepy.

Moreover, upon hearing about the situation in private room 401, where Yao Shi directly appointed Fu Yu to assist there without considering their side at all.

This suddenly made Gu Yunwu realize that Fu Yu had unknowingly left Yao Yihang far behind.

However, what made him angry and frustrated was not doing more work or having his subordinates outperformed.

If one can’t handle a little extra workload in the kitchen, then what kind of chef are they?

He also knew what Yao Yihang was capable of.

What angered him the most was that Zhao Meng’s old injury had flared up, so his people were transferred to assist Zhao Meng.

What did this become?

He spent all afternoon competing with his own people, fighting for orders?

In the past, when Zhao Meng’s old ailment flared up, he would simply take medical leave, and he and Yao Shi would partner up to support the operation.

There was never a time when his people were transferred over to support Zhao Meng!

The more Gu Yunwu thought about it, the angrier he became!

He glanced up at Zhao Meng’s busy area, and his teeth clenched in frustration.

Out of sight, out of mind!

Gu Yunwu used the excuse of going to the restroom.

He left the kitchen and went to the front hall, where he grabbed a bottle of cold beer to drink...

Dong Jun Tian had been tossing and turning for two nights because of the three-turn feast issue, feeling agitated and thinking a lot, finally deciding it was necessary to make peace with Yao Shi.

Yao Shi had always responded to gentle approaches rather than tough ones, always like this over the years.

He thought about inviting Yao Shi over for a simple meal to reminisce about the old days and smooth over the previous issue.

After all, with so many years of friendship, there was no need to quarrel over such trivial matters.

However, even after patching things up, it was necessary to give a small admonition.

How could something so minor lead to such hostility?

Could it be that he really forgot the kindness from back then...

After finishing his tasks, Dong Jun Tian noticed it was time for the shift change and called Yao Shi.

No one answered after a long time.

So he went to the kitchen to find someone.

Just as he reached the first floor... suddenly, two dish deliverers came out from the kitchen, chatting as they walked.

”The dishes are taking forever! No wonder the customers are nagging us to hurry up with their orders!”

”Well, it’s just our bad luck that it happened during our shift today.”

The two grumbled as they walked on.

Seeing this scene, Dong Jun Tian turned around and approached them, asking sternly, ”Is the evening shift assigned to Zhao Meng’s side or Gu Yunwu’s side today?”

The two dish deliverers turned their heads, startled to see the boss, and felt a pang of bad luck.

When unfortunate, even cold water could choke you.

How did they run into the boss!

They quickly answered, ”Today’s shift is on Chef Gu’s side.”

Upon hearing this, Dong Jun Tian frowned and asked, ”Then why is it still so busy?”

The dish deliverers had to reply truthfully, ”Chef Gu isn’t here, Chef Zhao has two regular customer orders to handle, and they’re not done yet.”

Dong Jun Tian hesitated, ”Zhao Meng’s old injury prevents him from cooking; is Fu Yu covering there?”

The dish deliverers paused; that wasn’t the case.

When they went by earlier, it was Yao Yihang and Sun Qingning at the stove.

Fu Yu was not there.

Where did he go?

The two exchanged a look, indicating they were unaware of the situation.

Oh no!

It’s not so much the customer complaints but more about Fu Yu being absent without a position during work hours that would definitely make the boss angry.

Thinking of this, the two simultaneously broke a sweat for Fu Yu.

Nonetheless, regardless of their concerns, they had to answer truthfully to the boss’s questions: ”Chef Fu is not here.”

Dong Jun Tian immediately darkened his expression: ”He’s not here? Where did he go? Not working in the kitchen during work hours, and the customers are anxiously waiting for their orders! Who’s cooking now?”

The dish deliverers responded, ”It’s Chef Yao and Sun Qingning cooking, with Chef Zhao guiding... When we just went to urge about the dishes, Chef Yao said he was busy and asked us to wait a bit longer...”

Dong Jun Tian asked, ”Where’s Chef Yao?”

The two shook their heads in unison.

Dong Jun Tian asked again, ”Any idea where Gu Yunwu went?”

Again, the two shook their heads.

Dong Jun Tian waved them off to continue their work, then quickly walked towards the kitchen.

When he reached the staircase connecting the front hall to the kitchen, he was about to turn when he saw Gu Yunwu standing behind a money tree, animatedly talking and laughing with a young, pretty dish deliverer.

Dong Jun Tian’s face turned dark instantly!

The kitchen was overwhelmed, and the customers were constantly urging for their orders.

Yet here was Gu Yunwu avoiding the work, hiding to chat flirtatiously with a young lady?
