The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The excitement from yesterday’s dinner party carried over to the next day.

In the kitchen, Zhao Meng and his team worked with a lot of enthusiasm.

The idle chatter mostly revolved around evaluating and discussing the roast lamb from last night.

After a busy day, around four in the afternoon, the orders started to pile up again.

Fu Yu received an order from a regular customer, which put him in a good mood.

Now, he occasionally gets his own regular customers’ orders, thanks to the previous interview by the provincial television station.

After carefully reviewing the order, Fu Yu casually stuck the slip on the kitchen wall. When he looked up, he coincidentally made eye contact with Yao Yihang, who also happened to glance over.

Before he could react, Yao Yihang had already looked away, showing no intention of greeting him.

Fu Yu shook his head, poured oil into the pan, and started cooking.

Just as he poured the ingredients into the pot, the order taker came over with another slip.

”Chef Fu, this order is from a regular customer. They said they have a flight to catch and hope we can prioritize their table’s dishes.”

Fu Yu was taken aback and asked, ”Is it a pre-order?”

The order taker shook his head, ”No, the customer just arrived.”

Fu Yu refused, ”That’s not possible. We have to serve the dishes in order.”

The order taker looked troubled, ”That’s what I told them, but they said they know Manager Jia and asked us to make an exception.”

Jia Rundong is the front-of-house manager at Qianlima, essentially the top leader under the owner.

However, the order of serving dishes was set by the owner.

When Zhao Meng returned from the meeting, he repeatedly emphasized the rule.

No matter the situation, unless directed by the owner or Yao Shi, dishes should be served according to the order slips.

This avoids disputes over the order of serving dishes.

Additionally, it’s fairer.

After all, every customer is here to eat, and nobody likes to wait.

Serving dishes in the order they were ordered means no one can complain.

If you want to eat first, come earlier.

Fu Yu thought about it and said, ”How about this, I still have two orders on hand. After the main dishes are out, I’ll see about preparing two dishes for them to start with.”

The order taker had no objections.

After all, that’s the rule at the restaurant. Since Fu Yu was willing to prepare two dishes early, once the customers start eating, they won’t be in a hurry to rush the rest.

The order taker left satisfied.

The table trying to use connections was seated in Private Room 205.

A party of eight, it seemed like a gathering of friends.

Leading the group was a young man in casual wear, seated next to a stunningly beautiful young woman.

They chatted and laughed, but after a while, no server came with their dishes.

The beautiful young woman glanced at her phone and turned to the young man, ”Cedar, when will the dishes arrive? It’s almost five o’clock.”

They had a 7:30 PM flight to Hainan for a team building, needing to reach the airport by 6:40.

Lin Xuesong heard this and loudly called out, ”Waiter!”

The server waiting in the hallway quickly entered the private room and asked, ”Hello, guests, is there anything you need?”

Lin Xuesong asked, ”When will the dishes be served? We have a flight to catch soon!”

The server was unaware of their previous request to prioritize the dishes, maintaining protocol, ”The kitchen will serve the dishes in order, please wait a little longer.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Xuesong’s face immediately darkened, ”Weren’t we told earlier that our table would be prioritized?”

The server looked baffled.

Promised?

Who made such a promise?

A chubby young man sitting nearby chimed in, ”Could you ask the kitchen to rush it? We know your Manager Jia, so perhaps the chefs can prioritize our table.”

Another person agreed, ”That’s right! We have a flight to catch soon! Time is really tight.”

Hearing this, the server had no choice but to agree, ”Alright, I’ll inform the kitchen about it.”

Fu Yu was flipping a dish in the pan when Wang Yuxuan came over.

”Chef Fu, the guests in Private Room 205 are urging for their dishes. When can we serve them?”

Fu Yu glanced at the slips on the kitchen wall. He already had one pot stewing and another frying; there was no more room to cook.

And both dishes were complex, taking at least fifteen to sixteen minutes to finish.

Once these dishes are done, then new ones can be cooked…

Fu Yu estimated and said, ”The quickest would be half an hour from now!”

Wang Yuxuan heard this and didn’t waste words. Since Sun Qingning’s dishes were ready, she took them out.

Dishes were first served to Private Room 206, and only then did Wang Yuxuan return to Private Room 205 to report.

”The kitchen has started preparing your dishes, please be patient a little longer.”

This response was the restaurant’s official line.

No matter who urges for dishes, this is the reply given.

If the kitchen can’t bring out the dishes, waiting is the only option.

As for claiming any connections?

Sorry, you still have to wait until the kitchen finishes cooking before they can be served, right?

Wang Yuxuan confidently said her piece and went back to work.

”Cedar, let’s wait a bit more,” the chubby young man advised.

Lin Xuesong sighed and turned to his female companion, ”Don’t worry, they said it’s already being prepared, so it should be served soon.”

The female companion, looking about twenty, was fashionably dressed with a face full of arrogance and pride.

Hearing Lin Xuesong’s words, she snorted coldly without reply.

Every now and then, sounds of servers bringing dishes and lively chattering came from the hallway.

But Private Room 205 still hadn’t received a single dish.

After more than ten minutes and still no food, Lin Xuesong was getting restless.

”Why is it taking so long to serve the dishes! Had I known, I wouldn’t have come!”

His female companion turned to him, saying lightly, ”The restaurant is busy and the kitchen can’t keep up with all the customers. You said you knew some manager, but no one even acknowledged you.”

In front of all his friends, Lin Xuesong felt embarrassed.

Seeing his female companion’s expression, he grit his teeth and swallowed his angry words.

He picked up his phone, dialing as he spoke, ”I don’t believe it; today you’ll definitely get to taste the food here!”

The call was quickly answered.

Once the other party spoke, Lin Xuesong said, ”Hello, is this Manager Jia? I’m Lin Yueting’s son, Lin Xuesong... Yes, I’m dining at Qianlima Restaurant and have a flight at 7:30 PM. We’ve been waiting forever for our dishes. Could you please help me with the kitchen?”

”Alright, that’s great, thank you.”
