The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 222: Chapter 221: Activating the Partner System

The steaming hot clay pot fish was brought to the table.

Sun Qingning silently wiped the sweat off his palms on his clothes.

Too nervous!

Being watched by the boss and Yao Shi while cooking, this must feel like taking the college entrance exam, right?

The kitchen staff eating at the same table were also on edge at this time.

Who can truly relax eating with the boss at the same table!

Especially seeing Gu Yunwu passing chopsticks to the boss and rushing to help serve the rice.

Their own boss had become a little follower, making Yao Yihang and others even more hesitant to reach forward with their chopsticks.

After Dong Jun Tian sat down, he didn’t rush to grab the food but first leaned in to take a close look at the clay pot white bass fish.

I must say, it looks quite appetizing and smells really good.

He used his chopsticks to pick up a piece of fish and put it in his mouth to taste.

The fish inside was very tender, with a layer of batter outside, tasting crispy and flavorful.

Because of the clay pot’s stewing, the fish was exceptionally fragrant.

Then picked up a piece of dried bean curd.

The bean curd absorbed the rich soup and tasted very fresh.

This fish was stewed so deliciously, no wonder they were scrambling for it earlier!

Dong Jun Tian tasted everything from the fish to the side dishes in turn, then invited Yao Shi to taste it together.

The two of them led the way with their chopsticks, and only then did the others start eating together.

However, by this time, no one was scrambling for it like before.

The two fish ended up mostly in the stomachs of Dong Jun Tian and Zhao Meng.

Dong Jun Tian was the boss; no one dared to fight with him.

And Zhao Meng had injured his right hand, so Fu Yu helped to pick up his food.

Fu Yu didn’t eat much of the fish himself; the good pieces he picked up were all transferred to Zhao Meng’s bowl.

This mentor-protégé pair ate quietly, causing Gu Yunwu, sitting opposite, to watch with some envy.

Look at that protégé, so considerate.

Eating with the boss, who would dare to pick up more food, and with the clay pot fish being so delicious, who wouldn’t want a couple more bites?

Gu Yunwu glanced at Yao Yihang, who was just focusing on eating rice, from the corner of his eye.

This is the kind of comparison that truly humbles a person!

A delicious meal of clay pot fish was finished.

Dong Jun Tian and Yao Shi left first.

Once they left, everyone in the kitchen was relieved.

Those who finished eating first cleaned up their dishes and returned to work, while those who hadn’t finished hurriedly continued eating the remaining food.

Zhao Meng usually ate quickly, but now with his right hand inconvenient, he switched to using a spoon, which was somewhat slower.

Fu Yu didn’t rush to leave; he had to help Zhao Meng gather the dishes later.

The kitchen’s cleaning service only handled dishwashing, not clearing tables, so after they finished eating, they had to take the dishes to the cleaning area for the dishwasher to sanitize.

Fu Yu didn’t leave, and Sun Qingning wasn’t in a hurry to go either.

He had a belly full of joy he wanted to share, but there were still two junior staff from Gu Yunwu’s side eating, so he had to hold it in.

As a result, this little delay, and Yao Shi suddenly returned.

The few who hadn’t left yet all greeted each other.

Zhao Meng asked in surprise, ”Why are you back?”

Yao Shi smiled and turned to Fu Yu, asking, ”How did you come up with this method of stewing clay pot fish?”

Fu Yu made up something on the spot: ”Didn’t Chef Zhao make clay pot fish before? It tasted quite good, and this time I happened to get two white bass, so I thought I’d make it again to try.”

Yao Shi, upon hearing this, became interested: ”Old Zhao’s clay pot fish was different from this. This one has king oyster mushrooms and dried bean curd; the texture is indeed very good. Had you tried it before, or was it...”

Fu Yu confidently said, ”It was a sudden idea. I just happened to have soaked bean curd, so I thought it would be good to add it.”

Yao Shi believed him upon hearing it.

After all, in the kitchen, they always cooked whatever ingredients were available.

After chatting with Fu Yu for a few sentences, Yao Shi suddenly smiled and turned to Sun Qingning, saying, ”Xiaosun, I just suggested to the boss to add another regularization opportunity for the kitchen staff, and the boss agreed. I plan to give this opportunity to you!”

Sun Qingning: ”!?”

Yao Shi continued, ”I’ve been watching your performance this whole time, and you’re an excellent employee. Asking you to make the clay pot fish just now was a regularization test for you. We unanimously believe you are fully qualified for regularization, congratulations, you’ve been successfully regularized!”

Sun Qingning listened in disbelief to Yao Shi’s words, and it wasn’t until this moment that it truly sank in!

He blinked with joy and instinctively looked at Fu Yu and Zhao Meng sitting beside him.

He was regularized!

Over a year of hard work had finally paid off!

This is too sudden!

He originally thought that he would have to wait at least another six months for a chance!

Meanwhile, Fu Yu smiled slightly as he heard the electronic notification sound in his ear.

[Ding! NPC kitchen helper Sun Qingning’s task: successful regularization, has been successfully completed, reward obtained: partner system, mission experience +1000, a random reward]

Great!

Finally, the partner system can be activated!

This counts as a triple joy, doesn’t it?

He received task rewards!

Sun Qingning was successfully regularized!

Zhao Meng gained a new helper!

Through this period of interaction, Fu Yu’s relationship with Sun Qingning also became more harmonious.

Fu Yu himself had climbed up from being a helper, so he could particularly understand the eagerness to become regularized.

Fu Yu was genuinely happy for Sun Qingning.

Yao Shi telling Sun Qingning about this was considered a private notification.

Once the finance department had prepared the contract, it would be publicly announced.

Sun Qingning was overjoyed, so excited he didn’t know what to do.

Fu Yu was equally in high spirits, smiling.

After Zhao Meng finished eating, Fu Yu stepped forward to clear the dishes, but Sun Qingning grabbed the task.

Sun Qingning was just too happy; if he didn’t find something to do, he had no way to express his overwhelming excitement.

Fu Yu didn’t argue with him; while Zhao Meng went to the back door for a smoke and Sun Qingning was busy cleaning up, he quickly found an empty spot to check the reward he just received.

Checked personal attributes.

Indeed, the mission experience value was full.

Fu Yu chose to level up.

The level went from lv7: 512/1000 to lv8: 515/1000.

Then Fu Yu eagerly activated the partner system.

[Ding! Partner system successfully activated.]

[Partner System: To join or closely connect with another person to form a pair, this system can be upgraded by two people jointly.]

Fu Yu watched as a new section appeared next to his personal attributes.

[Name: Sun Qingning]

[Profession: Chef]

[Level: lv4: 600/1000 (Chef)]

[Professional Skills:

Cutting Skills: Intermediate: 70/500

Pastry: Beginner: 50/500

Frying: Beginner: 480/500

...]

Sun Qingning, just having been regularized from a kitchen helper, naturally didn’t have high skills, but this kid is quite good at cutting!

Fu Yu remembered when he was at that stage, everything seemed to be at the beginner level.

No wonder Zhao Meng commented on Sun Qingning as being smart and talented.
