The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Liu Yu’s words were quite sincere.

Even if it was only considering Fu Yu’s own abilities, he would decide to keep him.

What’s more, with Fu Yu having a connection like Yao Shi, Liu Yu was even more determined that this person would eventually enter their music restaurant.

Actually, in Liu Yu’s view, Fu Yu doesn’t really need to come to the music restaurant every day.

After all, they’re not particularly short-staffed, otherwise, they would’ve hired more people long ago.

Back then, Yao Shi would occasionally bring Zhao Meng over to help out. Although it was under the guise of assisting in the kitchen, it was actually just to adapt to the work environment here in advance and to allow everyone in the kitchen to get to know each other, which would facilitate future management.

As for Fu Yu, it was purely a coincidence.

At the time, Yao Shi, on a whim, brought him over, and Fu Yu ended up creating innovative dishes and an eight-dish, eight-bowl banquet, which made Yao Shi take him more seriously, and today has brought him to Liu Yu’s attention.

It’s just that offering to pay some insurance benefits in advance seems generous, but in fact, Fu Yu’s personal value far exceeds these small amounts of money.

Liu Yu had also considered it carefully. The meal setup with three dishes yesterday just reinforced his internal decision.

After expressing his intentions, Liu Yu smiled and said, ”Of course, there’s no need to rush to a conclusion about this matter. After all, handling the insurance benefits here requires some time to prepare. I run a business here with the restaurant, and if we can cooperate smoothly in the future, it will be an employment relationship that is mutually beneficial, so there’s no need for you to feel any pressure.”

Fu Yu still felt it wasn’t quite right and politely declined, ”Thank you, President Liu, but it’s just that my insurance situation...”

Liu Yu smiled and interrupted Fu Yu, ”The insurance matter isn’t something that can be settled in a day. You should go back and think it over carefully. If you have any thoughts, let me know then. We have many opportunities to meet in the future, so we can talk about it slowly without rushing.”

After speaking, Liu Yu picked up his phone, ”I have some matters to attend to, so I won’t stay here.”

Liu Yu gave Yao Shi a look, ”I’ll leave for now, you take care of things at the restaurant.”

Yao Shi: ”...”

Is it to take care of the restaurant’s matters?

Or to take care of the people in the restaurant?

Liu Yu pretended not to see Yao Shi rolling his eyes and walked away with a smile.

After Liu Yu left, Yao Shi finally spoke with Fu Yu.

This music restaurant, said to be a joint venture between Yao Shi and Liu Yu, was actually fully operated and managed by Yao Shi alone.

And Liu Yu himself had a lot of other businesses to attend to, making it challenging to focus here.

Having such a hands-off business partner, Yao Shi has undoubtedly invested a significant amount of effort and dedication into the restaurant.

Now, Liu Yu wants to recruit Fu Yu, which aligns perfectly with Yao Shi’s intentions, and he is quite pleased with the prospect.

With no outsiders around, Fu Yu unconsciously relaxed and looked at Yao Shi, asking, ”Chef Yao, do you think I should accept this insurance?”

Yao Shi also pondered this question, and after thinking for a while, he said, ”Having insurance benefits is certainly a good thing. But if it’s true, and you go through with it, you’ll be practically the same as a full-time employee here, even if nominally you’re just a part-timer.”

Fu Yu was aware of this.

By then, his salary and benefits would be at the level of a head chef, and the insurance would be tied to the music restaurant.

In the future, although he would nominally remain with Qianlima, in reality, he would be a full-time employee of the music restaurant.

Looking at Fu Yu, Yao Shi also felt a bit uncertain.

However, thinking of Zhao Meng and looking at Fu Yu in front of him, he eventually said, ”Given your situation now, Fu Yu, if I were you, I might still choose the previous part-time cooperation model.”

Fu Yu nodded in agreement, ”Chef Yao, you’re right.”

Yao Shi sighed and said, ”The promises Old Liu just made were basically meant to keep you here because he thinks highly of you. However, your situation is special now, as you’ve just signed a contract with Qianlima. This means you won’t be able to leave easily for at least two years.”

”If you do accept this insurance, then in the future, if the music restaurant has any issues and needs you to come over, you won’t have much of a choice.”

”But it’s different if you’re just doing part-time work. If there’s a need here someday, I can arrange things according to your schedule. You’ll have more freedom and fewer concerns. Normally, a civil servant, once qualified, is at least twenty-five years or older; you’re still young, so delaying insurance for a couple of years isn’t a big deal.”

Listening to Yao Shi’s advice, Fu Yu, who was initially focused on the benefits, suddenly had a moment of clarity.

Yes!

He’s still young!

Why hurry with the insurance?

Waiting a couple of years isn’t an issue.

Besides, he never thought someone would pay his insurance before.

After all, Qianlima doesn’t offer this benefit.

In this way, doing part-time work is truly more relaxed and free.

Even if someone finds out in the future, he can always claim he’s just providing on-site service and helping out as a friend, and no one can find fault with that.

Yao Shi thought for a moment and added, ”Moreover, I believe that if you hone your culinary skills and master them, you don’t necessarily have to stay confined to this place.”

”Bei’an City is only so big, with just these many people coming and going. You’re just in your early twenties, at the prime of your life, so who knows how bright your future might be!”

”Therefore, there’s no need to worry about these things now. In the next two years, what you need to do is to learn cooking well and gain as much experience as possible.”

Thinking of his own past experiences, Yao Shi unknowingly added a few more suggestions as a mentor.

”You must plan for your future. As long as your culinary skills are excellent, you can earn money anywhere, so there’s no need to worry. However, you also need to understand that whether at Qianlima or at the music restaurant, any reputation and customer base you accumulate while working in the kitchen belong to the business, and you can’t take them with you.”

At this point, Yao Shi couldn’t help but smile wryly, ”Moreover, even if you leave in the future, this experience will become part of your resume. So, no matter where you’re working, you have to do well.”

”Although reputation and customer base are accumulated for the business, there is one thing that truly belongs to you, and that is your network. The saying ’the more friends you have, the easier the path becomes’ is applicable everywhere.”

”Of course, at the end of the day, the most important thing you must have is excellent culinary skills. By that time, there will be invitations for you to work, and you won’t have to worry about making money!”

Just like Yao Shi himself, no matter what becomes of his relationship with Dong Jun Tian in the future, he has the confidence to ensure his life remains the same or even gets better.
