The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Xu Xu brought his friend’s big brother, Luo Rang, the head chef of the Four Seas Banquet Restaurant, to Yang Zhifang’s house.

”Brother Luo, I really have to trouble you with this.” Xu Xu said with a smile.

Luo Rang waved his hand: ”With our relationship, there’s no need for formalities. Didn’t your brother-in-law already bring the guests back? Let’s hurry too.”

The two of them exchanged pleasantries and entered the Yang Family’s house.

Xu Jing heard them and came out to greet them.

Xu Xu asked, ”Sister, should we go straight to the kitchen? Have the dishes started yet?”

Xu Jing nodded: ”Just started.”

Upon hearing this, the two hurriedly followed her into the house, fortunately arriving quickly!

...

Yang Zhifang glanced at the various prepared ingredients on the kitchen counter and asked Fu Yu: ”Can this stir-fried sea snail be replaced with another dish?”

”Braised sea snail with sauce.”

Fu Yu answered and continued with his work.

Because most of the dishes needed adjustment, time was running a little tight.

After all, stir-fried dishes have simple cooking processes and are quickly served.

Whereas simmering and steaming dishes are much more troublesome.

Now that the guests have returned, he must quickly prepare a few dishes to fill the table before the pace can slow down.

At this time, Xu Jing and others came to the kitchen.

Yang Zhifang heard the commotion and said to Fu Yu: ”Chef Fu, you continue working; I’ll go take a look.”

Having said that, Yang Zhifang exited the kitchen and met Xu Jing and the other two head-on.

Xu Xu asked with concern: ”Brother-in-law, how many dishes are done?”

Yang Zhifang whispered: ”Just started, many of the ingredients we originally prepared can’t be used. Now we can only match with the existing ones!”

Upon hearing Yang Zhifang’s words, Xu Xu immediately became anxious.

This is like trying to make bricks without straw.

Without enough ingredients, no matter how skilled the cook is, nothing fancy can be conjured up!

Xu Xu turned to Luo Rang: ”Brother Luo...”

Luo Rang waved his hand: ”No worries, I’ll go take a look, you guys go accompany Elder Yang, there’s actually not much we can do in the kitchen.”

Xu Xu nodded gratefully: ”Then I’ll trouble you, Brother Luo.”

Luo Rang smiled and casually asked: ”By the way, who is the chef inside? Looks so young?”

Luo Rang glanced inside through the open kitchen door, looking at the busy figure.

He had heard of chefs from several famous restaurants in the city.

Qianlima’s head chef Yao Shi, Luo Rang had once dined with him.

But the two head chefs, he’s heard one is named Zhao and the other is named Gu, though he’s never met them, apparently they are around his age.

Yang Zhifang introduced with a smile: ”His name is Fu Yu, he’s the chef I invited over from Qianlima.”

Luo Rang nodded: ”Oh, so it’s Chef Fu.”

He wondered to himself, this person looks barely in his twenties!

Is he really the top chef Yang Zhifang specially invited from Qianlima?

This Yang Zhifang...

Could he have been fooled by people from Qianlima?

Where do you find such a young top chef!

Fu Yu... last name Fu?

Luo Rang muttered it twice in his mind, sure he hadn’t heard of such a person.

How good can he be?

Probably less than five years in the profession?

Surely cannot compare with a chef like him with nearly twenty years of experience.

Thinking this way, Luo Rang suddenly felt more confident.

After all, speaking of the foundation, the Four Seas Banquet can’t compare to the decades-long legacy of Qianlima.

Earlier when Xu Xu invited him over, he was a bit worried.

After all, Yao Shi’s reputation is so big, his two aides must not be far off either.

This emergency situation called for him, and Luo Rang was mentally prepared.

He came to assist, definitely wouldn’t try to steal the limelight at the time.

But right now, the situation was a bit unexpected!

After all, having such a top chef assist a chef in his twenties?

He might let go of his airs, but the key is whether the person inside dares to really use him?

Xu Xu also peeked into the kitchen, frowning slightly.

Familiar with Luo Rang and somewhat knowledgeable about the chef’s trade.

Unlike other professions, if a chef hasn’t spent ten years honing their skills, accumulating experience, they surely can’t master them.

This Qianlima Chef Fu, no matter how great, can’t match up to Luo Rang.

How many years has Luo Rang been a chef!

Xu Xu suggested: ”Brother-in-law, this kitchen only has one stove, two people can’t keep busy, how about letting that Chef Fu make way, and let Brother Luo take care of this table?”

For a moment, Yang Zhifang felt awkward.

Fu Yu was a top chef he got through connections from Qianlima, and now without informing him, he directly invited the head chef of Four Seas Banquet, it’s already a bit like stealing the guest’s thunder, and now to make Fu Yu step aside?

This is too disrespectful!

Yang Zhifang didn’t know much about the catering industry, but he knew that competing for control of the kitchen is definitely not something to do.

Yang Zhifang felt troubled: ”Xu... this Fu Yu is the top chef I worked hard to bring back, doing this... isn’t quite right!”

Xu Jing quickly said: ”Isn’t this because of the special situation now, dad’s already back. It’s already close to six o’clock, by then we have to set the table, it would be too awkward if the food isn’t served! No matter what, let’s get the banquet ready first!”

At this moment, Luo Rang made a decision: ”I can join the stove with Chef Fu, two people will definitely be faster, you guys go busy yourselves, the cooking time here is really running tight.”

After saying this, he turned toward the bathroom to change clothes and wash his hands, then prepared to go directly to the kitchen.

Yang Zhifang quickly followed him in.

Meanwhile, Xu Jing took Xu Xu to see Elder Yang, it’s not nice to have been here this long without showing up.

Yang Zhifang glanced at Fu Yu, busy in front of the kitchen counter and couldn’t help but sigh...

What a mess!

Really!

Compared with Luo Rang, Yang Zhifang certainly looked forward to Fu Yu more.

After all, no matter how good you are, Luo Rang, you haven’t entered Qianlima as a chef.

The elder in their family misses the old flavors of Qianlima, not the famous lamb spine pot of Four Seas Banquet.

Fu Yu at this time was completely unaware of what was happening outside.

He was concentrating on making the braised sea snail with sauce.

Originally meant to make stir-fried sea snail, so he brought six in total, if changing to braised, he only needed two.

This way, it actually saved on ingredients.

After blanching the sea snails, he picked out the snail meat, cut off the snail tail, and sliced the snail head.

After washing the snail shells clean, blanch them, and arrange them hotly on the plate.

Add a small amount of salad oil to the pot, then add the snail slices.

Add in soy sauce, special seasoning chicken essence, and sugar, stir-fry quickly until even.

Drizzle with a little sesame oil and stir-fry evenly.

Snail meat is taken off the stove.

The plating used Qianlima’s special blue and white porcelain shrimp picture on a rectangular white ceramic flat plate.

The intact snail shell is placed at one corner, with two diagonally sliced long red chili not far from it. Asparagus shaped like wheat ears fixed by the syrup next to the red chili slices.

The snail meat is spread flat in front of the snail shell, garnished with a bit of chopped green onion.

In less than three minutes, a uniquely styled, appealing in color, aroma and taste braised sea snail with sauce was complete.
