The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

All of a sudden, everyone’s attention focused on Fu Yu.

Someone actually knows how to make this children’s meal!

But...

Yao Shi couldn’t help but ask: ”Do you know the two mascots ’Bing Dwen Dwen’ and ’Shuey Rhon Rhon’?”

Fu Yu nodded: ”Yes, Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon are the mascots for the Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympics.”

”Bing Dwen Dwen combines the panda image with a super-energized ice crystal shell, with the head’s shell design inspired by snow sports helmets, decorated with a colorful halo, giving it an astronaut-like appearance.”

”Shuey Rhon Rhon, on the other hand, is created from the prototype of a lantern, predominantly red, topped with a Ruyi ring and surrounded by paper-cut patterns, with irregularly shaped snow blocks on its face, and its body can emit light.”

After Fu Yu finished speaking, Yao Shi immediately nodded: ”Right! As long as you can grasp the detailed features of these two mascots, you can create various shapes for plating decoration!”

Li Shuli looked at the young Chef Fu seriously for the first time.

He often interacts with the Red Case District over here, so he knows that Fu Yu just recently got regularized.

In his heart, although Fu Yu is said to be regularized, he is still doing assistant work.

After all, the back kitchen has always been like this for many years.

Even after being regularized, the helper still needs to continue assisting for a period. Only when they can independently take charge can they start taking orders and earning commissions.

It’s only at this point that one truly becomes a master chef in the back kitchen.

Now calling him ’Chef Fu’ is actually just a respectful title, without any real significance.

But at this moment, Li Shuli couldn’t help but take another look at Fu Yu.

Recognizing these two mascots indicates that he knows a bit.

But knowing is one thing, can he replicate them exactly with food ingredients?

Fu Yu had already looked over that dish diagram from the special family banquet menu several times, and was very familiar with the cooking method.

He said to Li Shuli: ”Chef Li, can you sculpt a snow scene? Preferably with a few scattered snowflakes on a snowy ground. If that’s possible, I plan to create a classic pose of the two mascots holding hands!”

Li Shuli nodded immediately!

There’s nothing difficult about a snow scene, a large carrot can be shaped with a few simple cuts, and as for snowflakes, they are not really hard, just a bit tedious. But doing a few pieces is not a problem.

And if Fu Yu can actually do it, that would be great...

But...

Can Fu Yu do it?

It’s not that he looks down on Fu Yu, but usually this kind of children’s meal plating is done in collaboration with the White Case District over there with him.

After all, many designs look more realistic when made with dough sculpture, and some require flower carving.

And Fu Yu is a Red Case chef, frying dishes and tossing woks is his strength. Now letting him carve flowers or do dough sculpture, he needs to be able to as well!

If it’s about flower carving, he can help, but can Fu Yu handle the dough work?

Li Shuli thought about this and then asked aloud: ”Can you do this?”

”For the dough sculpting, maybe we should still try letting the White Case District handle it?”

Fu Yu looked at Yao Shi: ”Chef Yao, the White Case District can’t guarantee they’ll succeed immediately with this either, right?”

Yao Shi nodded: ”That’s for sure.”

Fu Yu rolled up his sleeves: ”So I’ll do it, otherwise, there’s no other way.”

One sentence left Li Shuli speechless.

Exactly!

Is there any other way?

However, Yao Shi had confidence in Fu Yu.

Previously, his skill in crafting Longevity Peaches was praised by Ren Mingqing for having a solid foundation.

Since Fu Yu said he could do it, it should be fine.

Yet Yao Shi still reminded: ”Are you sure you can? If not, maybe we should order a cake outside in advance!”

Fu Yu earnestly said: ”Should be no problem!”

Looking at the returned children’s meal, without the [Special Family Banquet Recipe], he would never have thought children’s meals could be made this way!

Among the 27 pages of designs, only three were marked with the [Simple] label.

And in these three sets, the one that looked classic and used simple ingredients was the ”Milky Crab Roe Bun” from the second set.

The Bing Dwen Dwen figure is predominantly white, resembling an astronaut, so the filling is made with egg yolk.

And Shuey Rhon Rhon’s primary color is red, with gold pattern accents, so the filling is made with crab meat.

The crab roe soup bun is a Qianlima signature staple, and the ingredients are available.

It’s just that since the shop doesn’t sell breakfast, they haven’t sold milk custard buns.

After checking the cooking ingredients, Fu Yu was relieved that they were all available in the back kitchen for use as needed.

Having decided to proceed, Yao Shi hastened to the White Case District to clear an area for Fu Yu’s temporary use.

Those in the White Case District knew Fu Yu, and hearing he was going to make pastries, they were quite surprised.

But since the shop was busy, they each had their own tasks to attend to and just threw curious glances without further distraction.

He gathered all the materials needed.

Fu Yu started with the filling.

He disassembled a crab to extract the roe, adding cooking wine, salt, and Jiang Mo, and stir-fried them with oil.

He beat eggs and added an equal volume of water.

Then added cooking wine, vinegar, and Jiang Mo to it.

He heated the pan, added oil, and stir-fried the crab roe before pouring in the egg mixture.

Added brown sugar, crab stick pieces, wood ear mushroom pieces, seasoned with MSG and salt to make the crab roe filling.

This work in the White Case can sometimes be as labor-intensive as the Red Case. From the proportions to the quantity, everything has standard references.

Li Shuli, who specializes in carving, has very skillful hands, but he can never handle work like this for the White Case.

That’s why he immediately gave up on the idea of handling the White Case work when he heard about it.

Outsiders are just here to watch, meddling would just cause confusion.

But although he didn’t understand White Case tasks, by watching Fu Yu’s entire process of making the filling, he understood clearly.

This young master really has some skills.

Seeing Fu Yu placing the finished filling aside, Li Shuli enthusiastically asked: ”Does this filling need to be mixed? I...”

Fu Yu turned and smiled: ”Oh, let it cool for a while first, we’ll mix it once it’s completely cooled.”

Li Shuli quickly replied: ”Sure, Chef Fu, just tell me if there’s anything I can help with!”

This time, Li Shuli’s reference to Chef Fu was genuine.

Unlike before, it was just a casual title,

Now, calling Fu Yu by name carries an undeniably legitimate feel.

Fu Yu nodded: ”Alright!”

He continued to prepare the custard bun filling.

He added 2 grams of dry yeast to 50 milliliters of warm water.

Mixed cornflour, light cream, and coconut milk together until smooth.

Sequentially added milk powder, cheese powder, sugar, salt, and egg yolk into a non-stick milk pan.

After slight stirring, he poured in pre-prepared mixed coconut milk and stirred with medium heat while cooking.

Once the mixture solidified, he removed it from heat.

Added butter and mixed well, then cooled it slightly, covered it, and put it in the fridge to chill.

While Fu Yu made the filling, Yao Shi stayed in the White Case District without leaving.

Seeing Fu Yu’s skilled techniques now, he was reassured, and promptly greeted his departure before hurrying back to the Red Case District.

With the shop busy, Fu Yu was called to the White Case to help, leaving Zhao Meng surely scrambling to manage.

He needed to go back and lend a hand.
