The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Fu Yu and Zhang Zhen continued busying themselves with their work, while in their hearts they wondered if the noodle balloon dish design would win the customers’ approval.

That’s how culinary innovation works.

Every new dish being introduced feels like a lottery draw, filled with anxiety and anticipation.

At the same time, Yao Shi rushed from Qianlima to the music restaurant.

As soon as he entered, he got the news that the customers for the engagement banquet had come to try the dishes and hurried over to the private room.

The customers were a young couple and their parents, six people gathered around the dining table, with four prepared dishes in front of them.

”What’s this?”

The young woman looked curiously at the noodle balloon dish placement.

On the white plate was a golden round ball, which looked like it was made of dough, very thin, with the sunlight refracting through the window, vaguely revealing a shadow inside.

”It looks like... a pancake?”

The middle-aged woman, who looked similar to the young woman, leaned in for a closer look and then said.

The man’s mother sitting opposite nodded: ”That’s right, it’s a pancake!”

”This dish is a new product our restaurant is launching.” The head waiter accompanying them introduced with a smile, ”You can try it and see, the taste is very good.”

When Yao Shi arrived, the young woman was carefully tapping the noodle balloon with a long-handled spoon under the head waiter’s guidance.

”Crack!”

The crispy noodle balloon shattered, revealing inside the exquisitely plated soy sauce poached prawn.

Everyone present couldn’t help but feel a shock at this sight!

Is it that expensive?

Certainly not!

In fact, the greatest anticipation was not just about the rarity of the dish inside the noodle balloon.

It was the moment when curiosity was satisfied!

The young woman exclaimed in delight: ”This... this is amazing! What dish is this? It’s so interesting! It’s like unboxing a blind box!”

Hearing this, Yao Shi knew that the dish had been successfully promoted, and his heart relaxed as he nodded to the head waiter and quickly headed back to the kitchen.

As he rounded the corner out of the private room, the head waiter’s voice came from behind: ”This dish is called Noodle Balloon Soy Sauce Poached Prawn!”

At the same time.

In the kitchen, Fu Yu, who was focused on his work, suddenly heard an electronic notification sound:

[Ding! With your assistance, the owner of the NPC Music Restaurant, Yao Shi, has successfully promoted the innovative dish: Noodle Balloon Soy Sauce Poached Prawn. You have received a reward: Yao Shi’s Favorability +10, Boiled Skills (Intermediate)]

[Boiled Skills (Intermediate): Master both the ”Original Boiling Method” and the ”Transformed Boiling Method”. Whether you want to preserve the original freshness of the ingredients or process the ingredients to make them more appetizing, you can freely switch between ”Literary Boiling” and ”Martial Boiling”. Maximizes the taste and flavor of the ingredients.]

Fu Yu raised his eyebrows.

He had unexpectedly increased Yao Shi’s favorability!

Counting it up, it had already exceeded 50 points, allowing him to view the personal attribute details.

However, looking at the other person’s personal attributes only made him envious and jealous, without knowing the specific use of it.

What use is there to having a high favorability score?

Moreover, last time, because he inspired Yao Shi’s original creation of Yao Clan’s classic spicy crayfish, he received an extra skill point!

Why wasn’t there one this time?

Although obtaining an intermediate boiling personal skill is quite nice.

It’s equivalent to having another cooking skill to show.

But compared to a skill point, it seems a bit inferior.

After all, with the title of newcomer kitchen star, there would be plenty of opportunities to gain personal skills in the future.

Fu Yu analyzed it carefully, possibly because last time, due to his inspiration, Yao Shi uniquely created the Yao Clan’s classic spicy crayfish. This time, however, it was with his assistance that the innovative dish was successfully promoted.

One was an original creation, and the other was an embellishment and innovation based on existing ones.

Therefore, there was a change in rewards.

If this dish, from cooking to final plating, was all his development, then maybe the reward would be richer.

On the other hand, Yao Shi got customer feedback and immediately came back to the kitchen to announce the good news.

”Are the customers satisfied?” Zhang Zhen asked eagerly.

Yao Shi nodded with a smile: ”Satisfied! This innovation promotion is very successful. From now on, this Noodle Balloon Soy Sauce Poached Prawn will be listed as a dish for mid-range banquets in our restaurant.”

Zhang Zhen immediately exclaimed with joy: ”That’s great!”

Yao Shi then announced: ”Given that this new dish’s innovation promotion was very successful, I decided to reward Fu Yu with an extra 500 yuan as a bonus!”

Fu Yu hurriedly thanked with joy: ”Thank you, boss!”

Yao Shi chuckled and told the others: ”Everyone needs to make more efforts in developing new products! Whether it’s the dish or the plating, as long as it is adopted, the restaurant will give cash rewards!”

Zhang Zhen, who had a good eye for opportunities, took the lead in agreeing: ”Okay, boss!”

Others quickly chimed in.

Yao Shi looked at Zhang Zhen with satisfaction and nodded approvingly.

Zhang Zhen, although not exceptionally skilled in cooking and somewhat self-serving, having a self-serving attitude isn’t a bad thing.

Being calculative, realistic, and driven, he is definitely a quality management talent.

Most importantly, Yao Shi didn’t have to worry about being betrayed by him.

He currently serves as the head chef, and although he is quite capable in the kitchen, without the Music Restaurant, he might not be able to manage on his cooking skills alone.

Besides, having ambition doesn’t necessarily make someone a bad person.

Those chasing fame and profit aren’t necessarily cold-hearted, and those indifferent to fame and wealth aren’t necessarily warm-hearted and loyal.

Everything depends on the individual.

Yao Shi had quite some insight when it came to employing people.

Since Yao Shi joined, he didn’t leave, staying to work in the kitchen with everyone.

By four-thirty in the evening, all the dishes had been taken away by the servers, and everyone in the kitchen could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Fu Yu was a part-timer, so he didn’t have to wait for the customers to leave to get off work, unlike the others.

After eating with everyone in the kitchen, Yao Shi called Fu Yu to clock out together.

On the way back, Fu Yu, sitting in Yao Shi’s car, earnestly said: ”Chef Yao, you’ve already paid me for transferring the noodle balloon making method, so I can’t accept this 500 yuan.”

One thing has its own merits.

He had already received the payment for teaching the noodle balloon method, and it was clear at the time.

Reasonably, how could he accept this extra money?

Yao Shi smiled and said, ”Take it. Do you know how much this soy sauce poached prawn was priced at before in my restaurant?”

Fu Yu was taken aback.

He hadn’t noticed how much it was priced at before.

But remember, it was initially positioned as a dish in low-end banquets.

Yao Shi explained cheerfully, ”In the 1288 set, this dish was a substantial one. Now with the addition of the noodle balloon, it’s directly moved to the 3888 mid-range set, still considered a substantial dish, on par with sea cucumber and hairy crab.”

Fu Yu suddenly understood.

Oh crap!

A shrewd businessman indeed!

Other people might have their brains filled with thoughts; Yao Shi’s head seems to be filled with a golden abacus?

This is some intricate calculation!

Fu Yu was utterly impressed!
