The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 103: Chapter 102: Seafood Paired with Vitamin C

”Hello, your dishes are served!”

Wang Yuxuan stood at the door of the private room, announcing as he walked in with a tray, and found that this group of people had already started live streaming!

”Pretty fast, huh? What’s this dish?”

Wang Yuxuan placed the plate in front of the female streamer and answered, ”Shrimp with spinach.”

The cameraman beside her moved closer with a handheld camera to film.

Wang Yuxuan quickly moved out of the way but didn’t rush to leave.

This group’s intentions were obvious. Wang Yuxuan’s sixth sense told her they would definitely take this opportunity to find fault!

The female streamer glanced down at the dish in front of her.

The green spinach was compressed into a delicate cylindrical shape and placed in the middle of the plate, garnished with white sesame seeds.

The pink shrimp was neatly arranged around the plate, looking plump and tender.

Regardless of anything else, just the presentation alone was like a blessing for those with OCD; it just made one feel very comfortable at a glance.

After all, being in the food review business, both the camera itself and the cameraman’s techniques were extremely professional.

With the lens zooming in, the soft lighting made the shrimp with spinach look even more enticing.

”This shrimp with spinach has a nice presentation, but I wonder how it tastes. Let me try the shrimp first...”

The female streamer picked up a piece of shrimp, put it in her mouth, chewed twice with her eyes gradually narrowing, and then slowly widened.

”Hmm, the texture is very tender. It should be Argentine red shrimp, and you can taste the original freshness of sea shrimp. The shrimp is clearly not frozen, but made from live shrimp... not bad.”

”Let’s try the spinach next...” The female streamer picked up a bunch of spinach, displayed it in front of the camera: ”The color is green, the boiling is just right. But making spinach taste good actually really tests the chef’s skills. Because spinach naturally has an earthy smell. Although boiling it in hot water can remove this taste, if you taste carefully, some will still linger, which somewhat affects the taste.”

The female streamer put the spinach in her mouth, after a while, nodded: ”Not bad, sweet and sour taste, not too sour. You can taste the spinach’s unique slightly sweet aftertaste, and it’s very crisp and tender to chew.”

The female streamer has been in this line of work for nearly two years, and her number of followers grew from almost none to nearly five million now.

She has filmed hundreds of restaurant visit videos and is very experienced.

So when evaluating a dish, she doesn’t need to refer to the script from peers or directors.

She described the dish’s taste as she ate, and when she raised her head unintentionally after speaking, she found the director holding a whiteboard was already freaking out!

The whiteboard read: Find faults!! What are you doing!!!

The female streamer was stunned: ”...”

What did she just say?

Oh, she gave an honest evaluation of what she tasted.

Uh...

Because of her rich experience and research in food, her demands on food were relatively higher.

When visiting restaurants before, she always evaluated dishes truthfully, but she could more or less find some faults.

But this time, she looked at the shrimp with spinach she just tasted.

Presentation, beautiful.

Texture, perfect.

Blinking her eyes, the female streamer said to the camera: ”Hmm, this dish is done quite standardly. Although there’s nothing particularly outstanding, the taste is okay. On a scale of ten, I would give it six points.”

Wang Yuxuan dawdled to the doorway of the private room, intentionally staying to listen for a while.

When he heard the female streamer give the dish six points, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Not bad.

It’s said that these food review streamers usually come up with all kinds of things.

Giving six points out of ten should be considered passing.

Making sure this group wouldn’t cause trouble over this dish.

Wang Yuxuan then quickly trotted to the back kitchen to report the news.

Fu Yu listened, smiled, and handed over the prepared lemon crab claws: ”That’s good, thanks.”

Wang Yuxuan replied with a smile: ”You’re welcome, I’ll help keep an eye on them.”

In the room, dishes were served one after another.

The female streamer commented as she ate.

”This lemon crab claw doesn’t seem to use fresh lemon juice. The taste suggests it’s lemon sauce, but not quite the same as Pilar Medina... more mild, slightly sour, not too sweet. You can taste the original tenderness of the crab meat... I’ll give this dish... 6.2 points.”

”Oh, can minced meat sea cucumber be presented like this? So creative... Actually, friends who’ve eaten sea cucumber know it doesn’t have a special flavor itself. Its taste isn’t like shrimp or shellfish which are salty and fresh, nor is its texture like fish which is delicate. Of course, the greatest advantage of sea cucumber isn’t taste or texture, but its nutritional value... good sea cucumber is chewy, appetizing, and elastic, easily bitten and chewed... Hmm, this sea cucumber is well soaked... The minced meat is probably fried with braised meat, the taste is unique... I’ll give this dish... 8, no, 7.8 points.”

”Let’s try this spicy crayfish... it smells good... hmm, very fragrant... the shrimp head can be sucked... the shrimp roe is rich in flavor, spicy, fresh, and tasty... delicious... Hmm, not bad... Oh no, forgot to wear gloves, hands are all messy... Hmm hmm hmm... really good...”

The director was hopping mad beside her: Don’t just eat! Give it a score!!

Even though the air conditioning in the private room was turned up high due to the hot weather outside.

Clearly feeling the cool air, the female streamer still felt like her makeup was melting.

So hard!

She had never done such a difficult restaurant review livestream.

As for the dishes, no problem.

Taste, no problem.

Service, no problem.

Price, fair and reasonable.

This was difficult to handle.

Her account thrived because of its unique concept.

Other reviewers mostly boast and praise.

If they receive free meals, they might flatter a little.

If they’ve been paid, they praise to the end.

But from her first livestream video, she adhered to the principle of genuine restaurant reviews.

Going to a reputable restaurant, ordering a few signature dishes.

Carefully tasting and evaluating honestly, following a path of real appraisal.

But later, as her followers grew, the offers from businesses never stopped.

That’s when things somewhat changed in nature.

However, no matter what, she still maintained one point.

Good food is good, bad food is bad.

Yet if there are business collaborations, she’d be more tactful in her evaluations, minding her words.

Qianlima Restaurant had some reputation within the province.

Her team came because of its fame.

Initially wanted to collaborate but was rejected.

This visit, although not quite intentionally causing trouble, carried a little vengeful intent.

Didn’t you disdain letting me evaluate?

Fine, if that’s so, let’s see if your restaurant is truly worthy of its name!

The female streamer decided that this meal, she would return to her original intention and come up with the most authentic evaluation.

After all, there were very few old brands nowadays that could withstand price pressures and still care about quality.

The large customer flow caused the kitchen to be perfunctory.

Cutting corners, service quality couldn’t be guaranteed.

These issues could be easily spotted.

She believed that this restaurant visit would undoubtedly give Qianlima a memorable lesson.

But now...

The female streamer, while pretending to drink water, signaled to the director: What should I do? Can’t find any faults?

Seeing the female streamer’s hint, the director’s eyes rolled, and his gaze fell on the several dishes placed on the table.

After staring for a moment, not in a hurry, a light bulb moment hit him as he wrote four words on the whiteboard: Food Incompatibility!

The female streamer also looked at the four dishes in front of her.

Shrimp with spinach, the spinach was boiled well, nothing to say.

Minced meat sea cucumber and spicy crayfish were standard, no issues either.

But this lemon crab claw.

Seafood with vitamin C?

It’s said that it can cause poisoning!
