The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Dong Jun Tian almost refrained from scolding Yao Shi right then and there for being reckless!

No matter what, Fu Yu should not be sent for home service!

Fu Yu has only been permanent for a few days.

Honestly, I guess he hasn’t been in charge of cooking for even two months.

Sending someone like that to arrange a family banquet for the Yang Family isn’t just joking around!

However, Yao Shi seriously said, ”Fu Yu’s cooking skills are indeed fine, I’ve been watching him in the kitchen lately! Apart from today’s banquet for Elder Hu’s table, which Fu Yu personally handled and cooked for, the old gentlemen all said it was good.”

Dong Jun Tian was somewhat surprised; he was aware of the guests at Elder Hu’s table.

They have been old customers of the restaurant, followers of Elder Dong from the Dong Family, with picky tastes and many demands, favoring the old flavors.

Is Fu Yu really that amazing?

Dong Jun Tian was slightly relieved but still a bit worried, especially with Yang Zhifang beside him, making it inconvenient to speak openly.

After all, with Fu Yu having just become permanent, can he really manage a whole banquet?

If it doesn’t work, should Gu Yunwu be sent instead?

While Dong Jun Tian was hesitating, he heard Yao Shi say, ”If Fu Yu can’t do it, we’ll have to wait until Old Zhao recovers. Lao Gu has other things to do and definitely can’t leave.”

Dong Jun Tian was taken aback, reminded of the TV station interview.

Since the other party had contacted him initially but then directly liaised with Yao Shi,

So he wasn’t very clear about the specific arrangements.

Moreover, in reality, the TV interview was certainly more important than Elder Yang’s welcoming banquet.

Elder Yang always behaved low-key; just the arrangement for coming home this time shows that.

Seeing Dong Jun Tian slightly moved, Yao Shi continued to say, ”Besides, even the group of Elder Hu couldn’t tell any difference between Fu Yu’s cooking and Zhao Meng’s. If Fu Yu can successfully handle Elder Hu’s banquet, making a similar one for the Yang Family should be no big deal.”

Upon hearing this, Dong Jun Tian fell silent.

As the owner of Qianlima, Dong Jun Tian is not entirely knowledgeable about everything big and small in the shop, but he has a rough idea in his mind.

He knows the status of Elder Hu’s group of old customers like the back of his hand.

This might be the most seasoned group among the restaurant’s old customers.

And the banquet Fu Yu prepared did not give them anything to criticize, and they were quite satisfied?

Hard to believe!

If it were anyone else telling him, he absolutely wouldn’t believe it.

But Yao Shi has always been strict in his work; being so highly praised by him, Fu Yu definitely has some competence.

So, he was still somewhat swayed.

Recalling the previous evaluation during the regularization, where Fu Yu made the innovative Harvest Hotpot and Wang Jingrui’s praise of him.

Talents inevitably have some extraordinary skills.

Could it be... that Fu Yu is a genius prodigy?

Thinking this, Dong Jun Tian put away his earlier disdain.

Because there stood a genius before his eyes.

Back when Yao Shi started, he was about the same age as Fu Yu, and what happened after?

Dong Jun Tian hesitated briefly and decided to hand over the decision to Yang Zhifang.

”This Fu Yu is a relatively outstanding young chef in our kitchen. He has surely been learning alongside Zhao Meng, and his cooking skills are quite good. Why don’t you go and take a look?”

No one in Yang Zhifang’s family is in the food industry, so Dong Jun Tian didn’t mind taking him for a tour in the kitchen.

If Fu Yu is indeed as excellent as Yao Shi says, then as long as Yang Zhifang is satisfied, he can facilitate the process smoothly.

Anyway, it was Yang Zhifang himself who selected the person, so if any problem arises, it wouldn’t be his fault.

The closer the relationship, the more careful you have to be with these matters.

If not handled properly, it could harm the relationship!

Yang Zhifang was intrigued by Yao Shi’s words, not to mention Yao Shi had mentioned that if Chef Fu couldn’t go, they’d need to wait for Zhao Meng to recover.

If he could wait, he wouldn’t have come down specially today.

Thus, Yang Zhifang quickly nodded, ”Sure, let’s go and have a look!”

In the kitchen, Fu Yu had just finished plating a braised duck and handed it to the waiter to deliver.

He casually tore a ticket from the kitchen wall.

The next dish to make was Spicy Crab Satay Hotpot.

This was quite a substantial dish.

A crab pot cooked with Xiamen satay style.

Perfectly combining Xiamen satay and roe crabs.

Qianlima used authentic Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs, each roe-filled crab plump with abundant roe and sweet meat.

Fu Yu instructed Sun Qingning: ”Wash the ingredients, cut the Napa cabbage into sections, cut the young Napa cabbage into sections, slice the garlic shoots, dice the soft tofu, and remove the mushroom stems.”

Sun Qingning quickly agreed and turned to prepare the ingredients.

Fu Yu himself selected large clams, plating them, and sliced squid.

Customers chose two male hairy crabs, big in size but with average meat quality.

It’s not that the customers had poor taste, but it wasn’t the peak season for crabs to be at their fattest and most tender.

However, Qianlima always emphasized the origin of its ingredients, so freshness was assured.

When Yao Shi accompanied Dong Jun Tian and Yang Zhifang into the kitchen, Fu Yu was busy handling crabs.

After removing the gills, Fu Yu smoothly supported the crab with his left hand, pinching the area without crab legs with his fingers while his right hand held down the cover with four fingers and flipped it open with his thumb.

He removed the whole crab shell and placed it aside, then skillfully cut the crab into four neat pieces with a knife.

Within a short time, Fu Yu quickly handled the two crabs.

Oil was poured into the pot, and once hot, he added dried Lantern chili and Sichuan green peppercorns for fragrance.

Fu Yu asked Sun Qingning while shaking the pan, ”Are the preparations ready?”

Sun Qingning, slicing soft tofu carefully, replied, ”Not yet! Just finished with the Napa and young Napa cabbage.”

Fu Yu acknowledged and casually took spicy satay to season.

Then he added broth, chili oil, salt, and secret chicken powder.

While the broth in the pot was not yet boiling, Fu Yu turned to Sun Qingning and naturally took over the remaining garlic shoots, slicing them into even pieces deftly.

”The pot,” Fu Yu instructed over his shoulder.

Sun Qingning hurried to fetch it.

Fu Yu swiftly removed the mushroom stems and set up the pot, beginning to place the ingredients inside.

A layer of Napa cabbage, a layer of white mushrooms, two crab pieces.

A layer of young Napa cabbage, a layer of garlic shoots, two crab pieces.

A layer of soft tofu, four crab pieces, topped with two whole crab shells.

By this time, the broth in the pot had boiled.

Fu Yu poured the broth into the pot.

Sun Qingning asked nearby, ”Chef Fu, how long should it simmer?”

Fu Yu casually replied, ”Five minutes will do!”

Sun Qingning immediately stood ready, starting to count time by the clock on the wall.

His large movements drew Yao Shi and the others’ eyes to the time as well.

Fu Yu continued preparing the next dish without pause.
