The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Don’t mention it!

The simulated kitchen environment is quite realistic.

It’s a complete replica of the back kitchen at Qianlima Restaurant, except it’s a bit cleaner and tidier; even the arrangement of the spices on the counter is exactly the same.

Fu Yu walked to his position.

As soon as he stood still, all the content about frying automatically appeared in his mind.

[Frying: A technique to turn flat ingredients coated in batter into a dish by placing them in a pan, adding a small amount of oil, and heating over medium-low heat until the surface turns golden brown.]

[There are eighteen methods of frying: Dry frying, crispy frying...stuffed frying, steamed frying, stir-fried and simmered frying, braised frying.]

[First Lesson: Dry frying.]

A plate of cleaned fresh fish appeared on the kitchen counter.

Then an astonishing scene unfolded.

Without anyone controlling them, all the kitchen tools seemed to come alive and began cooking autonomously.

Whether it was the angle of the cuts or the details of the operation, everything was perfect.

Fu Yu stared with wide eyes, watching the entire process without blinking.

Just as he was still absorbing the shock, an electronic alert sounded beside his ear.

[Ding! Please begin the operation]

Fu Yu quickly followed the cooking process he just watched, imitating it step by step.

[Ding! Cooking complete, dry frying technique scored 13 points, areas needing adjustment and improvement are...]

Fu Yu: ”...”

Ah, this...

Only 13 points.

It turns out that the cooking skills he thought were impressive were actually quite average?

Realizing this, Fu Yu’s competitive spirit was ignited.

He continued to bury himself in practice!

Once, twice, three times...

[18 points]...[22 points]...[60 points]...[80 points]...

Each time, Fu Yu would carefully read over the areas needing adjustment and make improvements accordingly.

And each time he cooked, his score would improve.

However, as his cooking skills became more and more refined and his scores higher, he found that the system’s requirements for him became increasingly stringent.

All sorts of issues that you normally wouldn’t notice would be pointed out one by one.

And after his score reached [90], the ingredients also began to change.

All assessments would start over from the beginning.

Yet his initial scores, which started failing in the beginning, unknowingly rose until when he was making dry-fried tofu for the first time, he got a high score of [75] on his first try.

Fu Yu’s enthusiasm and desire to win were completely aroused.

He had completely lost track of time and his surroundings, fully immersing himself in this learning process.

When he smoothly completed all the cooking exercises for [First Lesson: Dry frying] and successfully received a score of 100.

Fu Yu without hesitation chose to start the teaching session for [Second Lesson: Crispy frying].

...

Until finally finishing the teaching session for [Eighteenth Lesson: Braised frying] and successfully achieving a perfect score.

The electronic alert sounded again beside Fu Yu’s ear:

[Ding! ”Frying” teaching and practice session completed successfully, reward obtained: Personal Skill ”Frying” Advanced]

[Ding! Personal skill ”Frying” maxed out, task experience +666]

Ah!

Is it over?

Like a gaming addict who just finished a round, defeated the final boss, and received all the rewards.

Fu Yu was still not quite satisfied.

This practical teaching session was so much fun, even more satisfying than playing games.

He had a blast and even gained the advanced personal skill as a reward!

It was fantastic.

Fu Yu was still basking in the sense of achievement from getting a perfect score, when suddenly everything shifted, and he found himself back in his room.

Everything that just happened seemed like a dream.

He subconsciously took out his phone to check the time.

It turned out that time hadn’t changed much.

This back kitchen artisan title is really impressive!

No wonder the requirements for completing the task were so stringent!

Fu Yu decided to continue competing for orders with Yao Shi this afternoon to try to squeeze in another practice session.

He casually closed the door, and while walking towards the back kitchen, he called the delivery guy.

Previously, he had sent something home, and the delivery guy had picked it up from the store.

After setting the time, Fu Yu headed over for lunch with a light step.

As soon as he got to the back kitchen, Sun Qingning came over enthusiastically, ”Chef Fu, I’ve helped you with your dishes, they’re on the stove!”

”Really!” Fu Yu said appreciatively, ”Thank you!”

Sun Qingning chuckled, ”No need to be formal with me! Today’s lunch is good, if you hadn’t come by now, those hungry wolves would’ve left you with nothing but scraps!”

Fu Yu lifted the pot lid and saw two big bowls filled to the brim, and felt a warmth in his heart.

You see, relationships between people are mutual.

Fu Yu treated Sun Qingning well, so Sun Qingning also cared about him.

Fu Yu didn’t bother going to the dining room; he just grabbed a small stool at the kitchen counter and ate there.

After finishing his meal, he brought his bowls and utensils to the washing area.

Just as he returned to the kitchen counter, Sun Qingning came over and said, ”Chef Fu, take a look at how I’ve done this, alright?”

Fu Yu didn’t immediately understand and asked in surprise, ”What is it?”

Sun Qingning pulled up a document on his phone for Fu Yu to see, ”What do you think? If it works, I’ll continue this way.”

Fu Yu took it and looked carefully, astonished!

The first line of the document was a bolded title in black font:

[Chef Fu’s Market Research Records for Qianlima Restaurant’s Signature Dishes]

This...this is a bit too flashy!

Chef Fu doing market research on Qianlima Restaurant?

Isn’t this likely to cause misunderstandings?

He just wanted to find out which dishes were more popular in the store.

If outsiders knew, wouldn’t they think he had some ulterior motives!

Thinking of this, Fu Yu looked nervously at Sun Qingning: ”It’s just simple statistics... no need for a title, right?”

Sun Qingning laughed, ”Oh, it’s just that I have a lot of different documents on my phone. Watching videos uses too much data, so I read erotic novels instead. Those book titles are too crude, and I’ve renamed them before saving. I just named your document for easier identification!”

Fu Yu understood, and couldn’t help but sigh: Goodness! No wonder you’re someone who can regularly contribute to public resources! Just reading novels to pass the time.

Unlike me, my phone’s memory is full to the point of crashing, and I can’t even bring myself to delete a single GIF.

Fu Yu carefully read through the contents of the document.

[Round-robin banquet: Braised Perch, Garlic Scallop Fillets...Crab Meat with Fresh Mushrooms, a total of eight dishes]

[Chef Zhao’s exclusive regular customers: Sauce Sea Cucumber, Fresh Braised Abalone... Black Fish Egg Soup, a total of six dishes]

...

There were also summaries of all the dishes mentioned above.

These included which dish was ordered multiple times, which was only ordered once, and which dish the customer changed at the last minute; all meticulously recorded.

No kidding, it’s even more detailed than Fu Yu imagined.

Fu Yu nodded in satisfaction and praised, ”You’ve done an excellent job, continue doing it this way in the future!”

Sun Qingning was pleased, quickly assuring, ”Chef Fu, rest assured, I’ll keep a good record and not miss a single dish!”
