The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

A week, more than sixty tables of orders?!

Gu Yunwu’s face changed unpredictably.

He had only passed on less than ten tables of orders, so how did it suddenly become more than sixty?

Counting carefully, he himself seemed to have received only about ten orders this week.

Previously, he was just busy managing the orders under his hands and didn’t pay attention to this matter.

Now suddenly learning about it, Gu Yunwu was almost so angry he could spit blood!

Zhao Meng continued talking: ”All the orders taken at the front desk are recorded, and Chef Gu, you seem not very aware of the situation on my side. Under me, besides Fu Yu, there’s also Sun Qingning who can independently take charge. Xiaosun, although he can independently handle fewer dishes, can still lend a helping hand, taking some burden off the chores.”

”The three of us, can’t handle more than sixty tables of orders in a week?”

”However, you’re right that there are indeed too many orders on my side, not just over sixty tables, as there are also the rotations; from starting to ending work, there has been no downtime. On the contrary, I see your side seems quite relaxed, and the people under you can still take shifts off. Chef Gu, if you’re willing, could you lend a hand on my side, so I can arrange normal shifts for them as well?”

Upon these words!

Gu Yunwu’s face turned completely dark!

Since when could Fu Yu handle the stove independently?

Didn’t he just become official?

He hadn’t seen this kid on the stove a few times before!

How did he suddenly rise up?

And as for Sun Qingning, wasn’t he just an odd-job laborer?

He saw this person swaying in front of the stove just yesterday, clearly as Fu Yu’s assistant, how could he now suddenly handle the stove as well?

This happened right under his nose, and he hadn’t noticed!

Zhao Meng was just talking nonsense!

Gu Yunwu instinctively turned to look at Gao Wenjing.

As the team leader, she definitely knew about the order situation in the kitchen and customer feedback.

Gu Yunwu took a deep breath, trying hard to calm himself down.

He sneered: ”Chef Zhao, we are in a meeting here, not in a place for jokes, aren’t you just joking now! On your side, the most you can count on being independent with the stove is Fu Yu, when has Sun Qingning practiced handling the stove?”

Zhao Meng smiled lightly: ”Sun Qingning under me is quite outstanding, though compared to Fu Yu, he’s still a bit lacking. Hadn’t the boss suggested before that we should take more people under us on the stove? So I assigned him to be Fu Yu’s assistant.”

”The two of them have been rotating on the stove, they’ve long been able to take orders independently.”

Saying that, Zhao Meng changed the tone: ”Moreover, without their help, given this volume of orders, I wouldn’t manage even without eating or drinking just sticking to the stove!”

Watching Zhao Meng mention the large order volume one minute and the busy hard work the next minute.

He was almost just short of directly saying his cooking skills attracted customers to the store!

Gu Yunwu was so angry that his temples ached, silently cursing Yao Yihang, someone he thought was quite slick and smart usually, never expected he’d make a fool of himself in such matters!

He was painstakingly sending his customer sources over there to cause trouble for Zhao Meng, not to provide him with capital to boast!

Why is there such a large volume of orders on your side?

Isn’t it because of me?

Why should I send you customer sources?

Am I out of my mind or something?

Thinking about his own foolish actions, Gu Yunwu felt the anger boiling inside him, feeling more and more suffocated and angry the more he thought about it!

And at this moment, Gao Wenjing, oblivious to the situation, started sucking up: ”Indeed! Chef Zhao has taken an unusually high number of orders these days, yet the serving speed is unaffected. Our front hall hasn’t received any customer complaints, Chef Zhao is impressive!”

Others also echoed the praise: ”Chef Zhao really is remarkable!”

”Exactly! Look at Chef Fu he trained, now he can handle things alone!”

”Indeed, Chef Zhao and his team must be exhausted these days, with so many orders piling up, as customers keep coming, it’s truly not easy!”

Gu Yunwu never expected that all his efforts were a wedding gown for someone else!

All those orders! Weren’t they sent by me!

Really shooting himself in the foot!

Gu Yunwu was so angry he could almost explode.

The boss Dong Jun Tian was quite pleased, these days indeed saw substantial revenue, Zhao Meng was quite capable!

”Old Zhao worked hard these days, and well, Old Gu, since your side has completed all the shifts, lend a hand here and let Old Zhao’s side take some shifts.”

Gu Yunwu was almost so upset he could cough blood, forced to push out a ”fine!” through gritted teeth.

The store’s revenue was delightful, so Dong Jun Tian, being the boss, was the happiest, complimenting Zhao Meng with a smile, and asked him to share his experiences on attracting customers.

The rest of the meeting became Zhao Meng’s personal stage.

After all, his ability to bring such pleasing results to the store in a short time and smoothly handle the massive workload really deserved strong praise.

As the kitchen leader, Yao Shi was also amused, occasionally leading applause.

Gu Yunwu, with a dark face and a stiff smile, clapped along forcefully, hitting his palms so hard he almost bruised them.

When the meeting concluded, Yao Shi stayed back to discuss matters with the boss.

Zhao Meng and Gu Yunwu returned to the kitchen together.

On the corridor leading from the front hall to the kitchen, Zhao Meng glanced at Gu Yunwu, smiled, and said: ”Old Gu, how come I heard from dining customers they were introduced by you to place orders with me? Is it really the case?”

Gu Yunwu’s face immediately flushed with embarrassment!

Fortunately, he had thick skin; although he felt like there was a hole under his feet, on the surface, it was not visible at all.

However, facing Zhao Meng’s taunting expression, Gu Yunwu eventually took a deep breath to speak smoothly.

”Oh, you don’t have to thank me, since we just started dividing the orders, I thought it wouldn’t be good if you didn’t get any orders.”

Zhao Meng looked at Gu Yunwu speechlessly.

A tree without bark will surely perish, a shameless person is invincible.

Gu Yunwu really had a thick skin!

Can’t compare!

Back at the kitchen, Gu Yunwu used the excuse of needing a smoke, turned towards the back door, and dashed away.

Just then, a little worker returning from the warehouse with vegetables saw Gu Yunwu coming fiercely towards him, got startled, and quickly lowered his head without making eye contact.

Don’t look at what you shouldn’t see, don’t peek when you shouldn’t.

Gu Yunwu exited through the back door, turned to lean against the wall, unable to calm down for a while!

This idiotic feeling of willingly presenting oneself to be sold and counting money on behalf of others was driving him crazy!

Gu Yunwu, filled with hostility, circled around the corridor by the back door once before calling Yao Yihang.

Yao Yihang had no idea what was going on; he picked up the phone and before he could speak, he heard Gu Yunwu instruct: ”You get over to the warehouse right now!”

Yao Yihang: ”!”

This tone doesn’t sound right, huh?

He instinctively glanced at Zhao Meng not far away.

He saw Zhao Meng cheerfully conversing with Fu Yu.

Obviously in a great mood.

The two went to the meeting together.

After returning, Zhao Meng seemed delighted…

Yao Yihang had a sudden jolt! Something bad was brewing…
